Keeping Liam Nesson as a secret until now is a smart move, and seeing him appear physically as a force ghost to his former padawan does put a smile to my face. He really does make me feel nostalgic, and I'm so glad to grow up with the prequels and OT trilogy. The slow burn finally paid off till the season finale's best episode. Qui Gon's voice still got that famous edge after 1999. Thank you Deborah Chow.
It doesn't matter how old or powerful Obi-Wan gets, Qui-Gon will always see him as his student as Obi-Wan still sees Qui-Gon as his teacher and mentor.
Ewan is so talented in this role. I love how he went from beating Vaders backside to lighting his face up with a smile like a late teenage Padawan with the Qui Gon reveal.
"Well, took you long enough" I could say the same for you, Master Qui-Gon. I was a child the last time I saw you. Damn good to see him again. I waited 17 years for this moment
And you just KNOW Liam has been sitting back grinning for several months saying “people are gonna lose their minds when they see me turn around”. Theory: When Qui-Gon said “We’ve got a ways to go” I think Qui-Gon is going to give Obi-Wan the same special training that Yoda went through in Clone Wars that will allow Obi-Wan to contact others after death. This would explain him being a force ghost in Empire strikes back & return of the Jedi.
