- Palestinians and Israelis both deserve a ceasefire, a sovereign home, and peace. I fully support Biden’s proposal for a ceasefire to end the bloodshed and urge Netanyahu and Hamas to come to the table and deliver this solution to free the hostages and stop the killing of innocent people. Until then, at bare minimum, we have to call on our leaders to stop aiding and abetting Netanyahu’s indiscriminate destruction of Palestinian lives. #CeasefireNOW
(Every time I talk about this, I wind up inadvertently upsetting people on one side or the other because I didn’t use the verbiage they want me to say, but I can’t stay quiet - It’s too important, and I think we all have a moral imperative to speak up and help where we can. So forgive me as I stumble through and do my best.)
Part of being allied is calling each other out when wrongs are being committed. Not blind support of everything. It's heartbreaking what is happening there.

I feel like this is only scratching the surface of the issue, and in some ways blatantly disregarding what Israel has done before the 246 days of Gaza.

Yes, it is complicated. And sometimes I don't know which side to be on. And sometimes I don't want to think about it. Then the problems of my own little world keep me too busy. This morning at breakfast I was thinking about my daughter, who is being bullied at school, and about my birthday party, for which I still have so much to organize. And then I saw your video. And I remembered how well I'm doing. I don't have to worry about my daughter's school being bombed and I can celebrate my birthday with family and friends. Many people in the world don't have that luxury.

I agree, wholeheartedly. You know, everyone always says how terrible it is to lose women and children. But the men count, too. And their losses in families and society count, too. We don't need war, we need special forces to get to groups like hamas. The losses in infrastructure and farmable land and the general belief in the goodness of others all count, as well. It's catastrophic to society, to all societies.

I too believe in 2 country solution but what happened on 7th October is the same thing that is happening to Palestinians since 70+ years.So I think Palestine has the right to defend themselves. Plus US also stopped aiding UNRWA, so there is currently less aid to GAZA.

What happened on October 7th really? Show any evidence
Hamas literally streamed their own crimes on social media and it has since been taken down. If you actually want evidence there are plenty of survivers who are speaking about their experiences and videos that show the burnt houses. There are videos all over if you actualy bother to look

I debated strongly whether to post this, because I'm sure I'll get a LOT of hate and antisemitism in response, but I think it's important.

I'm an IDF reservist, and although I'm not currently serving on the Gaza border (I serve elsewhere), I've been in situation rooms and personally witnessed very difficult choices being made, including NOT striking to eliminate active terrorist threats because there were women or children or just anyone uninvolved near by who might get hurt. I've seen the decision made, on multiple occasions, to wait until the terrorist was alone before eliminating the threat, despite that decision putting Israeli lives at higher risk.
The death toll in Gaza breaks my heart, and what's happening to the civilians there is truly awful. Regardless of Netanyahu's image, the IDF soldiers and commanders in the field are anything but indiscriminate. I can say from having personally witnessed this, that they're never aiming for civilians, and they make massive efforts to avoid harming civilians as much as possible. This includes (but is not limited to) warning civilians to evacuate to avoid being harmed when bombs destroy terrorist infrastructure, calling people on the phone, "roof tapping", and sending leaflets in Arabic to warn them. The IDF also opened humanitarian aid corridors so that aid can reach Gazan civilians, and endangered our own soldiers to guard this corridor as Hamas bombed its own civilians.
When Hamas terrorists take over a school, or shoot rockets from it at Israel, whether they allow the children to leave it or not, they make that school a legitimate military target according to international law. The IDF does a lot to minimize civilian casualties, but in such a crowded space, especially when the terrorists are hiding under schools and hospitals and among the civilian population, there's a limit to its capabilities and people are going to die. It's a horrible reality of war.
War is a terrible thing, and I understand and agree with everyone who wants the killing to end. I'm with you. I want it to end as quickly as possible. However, any solution that involves a long lasting ceasefire or peace will HAVE to include the dismantling of Hamas. There is no other option for any kind of peace in the region. Hamas is the direct cause for all this death and destruction, and the war would end THIS MINUTE if they surrendered and returned the hostages.

We do have to do better better for our country we have millions of homeless tens of millions strung out on fentanyl and a collapsed boarder. I watch supernatural almost continuously we watch it on Netflix every night when it’s over I start it over at season one episode one and just watch it again but we have to do better for us here in America I can barely feed my family the cost of everything has skyrocketed in the past three years. I had to completely drop my homeowners insurance except the bare minimum. Before we worry about other countries we need to fix American because if we lose America we lose the world.
