This almost sounds like the song that would play if Final Fantasy and Undertale crossed over. In case you're wondering, no, I'm not an Undertale fanboy. I just happen to have ears, really.
Now this gets me motivated. I'm writting a book set in dark world where demons came to earth and enslaved half of the humanity. Where there's one such character, he goes from villain to anti-hero to hero, helping out the main character. He gets this sort of a redemtion arc from his own perspective. Of course, It's a bit of a self-insert, but I think every writer does that. They put themselves in their characters.

The hero is near defeat, then the antihero appears because the hero's defeat belongs to them
