Thanks. I love my Z30. I have a secondary power source using a EN-EL main battery. Works great for tripod work. I also bought 4 other batteries for my Z30. It's the best little camera.
Mine just arrived today and can't wait to put it to use. I sold all of my gear with the exception of the 50mm 1.8 and am truly excited to have a smaller and lighter but still very capable kit. Also looking forward to getting back to purely shooting what I want to shoot and not paid gigs. I know there will be some sacrifices from my full frame mirrorless kit but I am perfectly okay with that because there are also a number of advantages.
Love my Z30 but the biggest problem with it is not being able to see the screen in bright sunlight. Not so much as point and shoot, as guess and shoot!
@@My_Photography_Journey the 12-28 is sharper and has more contrast in brightness. It's also more practical and easier to use with the power zoom. I actually bought it in a kit with the Z30. The only issue I see with it is it's a little too wide for certain shots, I am considering the Viltrox 33mm for portrait shots. Also, consider getting FX f-mount prime lenses for the Z30. They have a unique character and work well with AF with the FTZ adapter. I was surprised actually how well the AF worked.
I've got the Z30 as a smaller travel kit to my Z5. I shoot travel - architecture and landscape, maybe a bit of street. On the Z5 I use the 14-30 F4 and the 24-200 F3.5-5.6 .... great kit and by no means "big and heavy" but when out all day, every day on vacation it adds up. For the Z30 I use the 16-50 kit lens, plus the 12-28 and 18-140. The second two gives me all the range I need with one lens swap. Super portable in a small Tom Bihn Side Kick EDC bag. Really like the 12-28. The power zoom speed can be custom adjusted via menu. Battery much better on the Z5, but it's easy enough to carry a second.
Paired with a Nikon 10-20 lens and the FTZ adapter, the Z30 has worked well in my arsenal for Real Estate Photography. 20.9M has proven to be more than enough for MLS listed images.
Just bought one at good deal after seeing this video. Renders quite nicely w the 24 1.7. Big fan thus far. Went w this vs the GR so I can use my lenses.
I just bough my z30 and happy to use it so sharp especially for video even in photo. Actually i am usingmine for my glider even if doesn't hae a body stabilization it is so good for glide. I never had a second thought when i saw it i wanted it already compare to the z50 in my own opinion only.
I was between Sony a6100 and Nikon z30… but since I saw your videos I decided to buy the Nikon. And then later maybe the Sigma lens 30 mm. 1.4 . What I am frightened is about the overheating in 4k recordings.
This video is more or less a comparison between the z5 and the z30, what’s the difference between a FX and DX sensor and other beginner’s stuff. No mention about how you felt the z30 in the field, what shortcomings you have encountered for that time or what has surprised you in a positive way. Seen video on street photography with fantastic results and quite a lot of average videos shot with it. Unfortunately, I did not gain any new information from your video I did not already know.
I have nikon Z30 too, about a week. And now, im looking for dummy baterai en-el 25 for long video shoot, it's hard to buy dummy baterai. Not like sony, canon.... Overall Z30 better for me, than ZV-E10. And yes, Nikon Z30 is Hidden Gem-Underrated mirrorles.... And ZV-E10 maybe just at "OVERHYPE" Moment. * Maybe next i'll shoot my content with Z30, for now just with Android cheap😢. Still learning with Z30 best setting and picture profile for grading
Yeah, I think it's a NO GO situation for somebody who wants to educate via this platform... I mean, we who shoot with Nikon forever, we know the math 😂👍
Good question, I'm afraid I've not used the Lumix gx9! I would have a look at the lenses available and see if there are any deals on either to sway you one way or the other. I certainly don't have any regrets with the Z30 though
@@My_Photography_Journey thanks , i love m4/3 ,menu , IBIS and more available lenses on Lumix ; but on Z30 like ´´weather sealed´´, ext audio mic, grip and better AF( i dont like overheating issue at 4k)...
No, nothing at all so far. I've run out of battery before I have had any problems with heat at all. I will add I'm in the UK and the temperature has been relatively low since I got the camera (around 5-15C) so that may have had an impact too
And this will let me run the camera while it’s operating, I do a lot of Timelapse and photo stacking so I need to be running longer than the battery lasts with out disrupting the set
Just my 2¢ add more b-roll or slide in images taken on the product you're reviewing. 90% of your video is you. No offense but you're not Scarlett Johanson 😅 Also look into sound design. It's just your voice. Idk slide the body across the table off camera, into frame, open the LCD screen (click, click, click) as you open and turn it around. Look at it, close shut (click). Go into talking head, this is the Nikon Z30, and it takes photos like this (fade to black or white). Slide show gallery of random images using the camera. Add the settings to part of the frame. Overview of likes and dislikes of the past two months. 30s intro, 30s introduction, 1min slide show, that's 2min and you've entertained the audience. 1-2min on what you liked, 1-2min on what you disliked. That's 6-8min (8min is currently the target time for RUclips videos). Video clips to show what the camera can do. Then go into video likes/dislikes about the video capabilities. Bright light, mid light, proper light, night light. A timelapse even of the body just capturing the changing lights of the day sped up. Omg this was so random. Just sharing b/c you present very well but man this was boring and I checked out of the video. I hear you, but I'm like, I'd rather just listen with a black screen on. Dude even a second camera angle would do wonders shot from your smartphone overhead. We could just see your hands. It's like I'm watching the 10 o'clock news 😅 I hope you don't take any of this the wrong way, not trying to be disrespectful at all. The bare minimum, 2 camera angles. Front view and overhead view. Auto align on the timeline, just fiddling with the camera would do wonders, just cut in and out every so often. Production time would be nearly the same length. You do seem like a busy guy
The Z30 is such an underrated gem. Even the Camera Conspiracy guy likes the Z30 after using it
I completely agree, it seems to have everything I could want and in a small body too
It's just way too close to the price of a z50, in the used market it's basically a why not just upgrade distance

That's amazing! Great combo too, enjoy!

Also, I use the 20mm 1.8 if I need to, otherwise, day to day is 12-28mm. I like this camera so much, considering getting a second one!
How is the 12-28? I've been wondering about a lens like that, I do want to be able to get some wider shots with it

Fantastic! That's something I've never shot myself, do you have any trouble with distortion at wider focal lengths?
Can you assign the record button to the shutter button like you can on the Z9 and Z8?
Well done video, thank you.

Fantastic! Glad to hear you're a fan so far! WIll be good to hear how you get on with it
How did you get on? my GR2 just died and thinking of the Z30 rather than the GR3 dust magnet. I have other nikon F mount cameras. thanks!

So far I've not had any problems with overheating during recording, I'm in the UK so not the warmest place around but so far so good!
You can't record for even 10 minutes 4k videos in India.
Not good for hot countries
@@rongpimoran Thank you for your answer. I live in a hot country in summer (Spain). So I will keep that in mind when in the Photo Store.

Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful!
200mm at Z30 will reach equivalent to 300mm, not 350mm, you may have mistaken here.
He is mistaken here. 😆😆

6:49 power bank, recommended banks because I’ve had no luck
This is the Anker one that I have and it seems ot work ok, at least slows the battery drain amzn.to/3M2F352
