Seeing Vane and Bonny smiling and jovial is a real trip after how serious and cutthroat they are in the show.
omg Vayne's actor actually speaks normally, he doesn't whisper all the time!
When I saw him in Shameless I was like "wait he speaks like a normal human being?" lmao
Even when he appeared in The Walking Dead he did the same whisper voice lol
Did the same in A.o.S and The 100 - so weird
Vane*
And also absolutely love his flowy locks
One of the most underrated shows ever. The best part is I didnt hate any character, not even Rogers. Perfect show. Miss it.
Thats what I hate about most shows. It is very childish. Thay make completely hateful characters and when one dies, another one even worse comes and you see yourself just looking foward to see that character dying and not fully enjoying the story. Rogers is not THE VILLAIN, he is the actual governor of the island that was taken by force in first place. If wasnt by Flint, the island wouldve been civilized again by peaceful methods. You really cant hate no one in that show. Everybody got they reasons. Every actor fits its characters.
yeah that's the thing that makes this show special, almost all the main characters can be viewed as protagonists
@@AverageAlien players with roles changing yes your right
I agree except for Eleanor. Her character arc was just confusing and I thought she was cringey.
@@MossXM was she the tall skinny spy? Dam cant recall who Eleanor was...if that is who your referring to I agree she was cringe-y but she was slightly confusing at first. Like she just came out of left field from no-where. But then it was necessary or she was important for the position she played or role rather.
So much in that show was lessons to see because of no TECHNOLOGY [make sense] it was all done old school starting with the INFLUENCERS [i.e.SHiLLS] used to sway the street view for each captain for one example. Anyway thats my view he he....probably wrong chick ha ha ha
If one takes the perspective as the series being one long movie...it is the best pirate movie ever. Even within he Drama genre, it's arguably the best. Genius writing, performance and richly beautiful production value.
RodCornholio agreed
the series is already based on a movie called treasure island
Its based on Treasure Island, Supposed to be a Prequel.
Haha, brilliant. I wish Starz would release actual blooper footage from the show!
Absolute shock when the actors for Max and Charles started speaking in their actual accents. They're such great actors!
this is better than the walking dead
walking dead is for kids.
+Operator 9 it's only your opinion
not really....
is different
Zombies are shit and boring after about 5 minutes.
So nice to see them all clean 😂
lolz Toby is so chill (like in a California way haha) he's not even got a hint of Flint in him.
No he's Chill like an Australian which he is.
nobody can out chill an Aussie, mate ;)
Unless there's a secret Toby hiding behind that fiery mein, pretty sure he's English.
There is another Toby, but he isn't secret - the actor who plays Rackham is named Toby Schmitz, and he is indeed Australian.
It was a secret to me. I just know him as Rackham didn't know the actors name. He will now forever be known to me as Secret Toby :/
@@85Aheadstixwrong one. Flint is Tobey Stephens, son of Dame Maggie Smith (runs in the family I suppose)
love the show and the cast. sooo awesome!! masterpiece
instablaster.
If any series deserves a return a sequel, not sure what you'd call it...I want treasure island with this cast
It would be hard after they changed the ending abit, mainly; Ben Gunn isn't on the island, Billy bones is
@@FeliX-TobiYahs-C Ben could make his way back to the island. You'll recall he had a conversation with Mr DeGroot about, since Billy saved his life he could return to try to find him or they could just change the story. I don't think fans will mind either way. They made changes already and they worked out beautifully
i'd love to see more extra bloopers video like saying Toby " talking total rubbish" stuff XD
I think I love ALL of them.
Toby and Clara are made for each other
I was a skeptic at first, like oh God a stupid pirate show....but I was so wrong and now I'm addicted! AMAZING CAST! The writing and acting is way better than all the shows I've watched through the pandemic so far( I've watched all of Netflix) I don't want it to ever end!!!
Zach Mcgowan sounds nothing like Vane 😁 damn what an actor
I just saw captain vane fully smiling, Amazing
One of the best series I've ever seen. Incredible acting. I've watched it 5 times! Wish there were 10+ more seasons))) The ending was good though, unlike most of my favourite shows'.
If you love dude shows like this I would suggest Strike Back as another show that's amazing like this with non stop action. I'd say it's the best dude show ever with Black Sails def on that list of top 5 best.
I love this show so much, I wish we could get the bloopers!!
Black Sails is a really really underrated series.
IDk about that. It's always been highly acclaimed. It's because it's mostly a dude show it didn't get the full media attention.
What ? The guy who makes C. Vane doesn't grunt talking ?? How am i to make jokes about the guy's talking now ?
Greatest series ever, really enjoyed it. Thanks to all you amazing actors and actresses for doing this show!!!!
I finally saw Anne Bonnie laugh
One of my favorite shows of all time! The cast, the dialogue! Amazing!
lost it the second Luke Arnold started talking... sounded so different from his voice as Silver that my mind had trouble matching his voice to his face :P
Love them all! Toby specially! He is one fine fine man! 😍
OMG. Charles van's voice is really like that?!
The ending of season 4 where it showed the original pirate flag gave me shivers
charles vane is bad ass
The best show ever made
Lol. When "Charles Vane" is talking how it can be "quite funny" when muscular dudes are fighting and sweating on each other, "Max" does an involuntary lip-bite =D
i fucking miss that crew, badly
Zach should play geralt of rivia
Charles vane actor looked soo damn familiar i couldnt think of it but looking at imdb it was because of Shameless i recognized him
I love them so much. Just finished the show . It's epic
So weird seeing them all clean LOL 😆
holy shit. they are real people
Best TV show ever
Toby Schmitz without the moustache(s) hit me like whiplash
Great cast, all of them are great.
Best looking cast EVER🥰😍🥰😍💋💋💋
Just finished watching the show from start to finish and it was fantastic
I misss this show, they need to do a Treasure Island series where they show evryone older, or do a spinoff series where Rackam and Anne bonney are sailing the high seas
The final moments of the show when “Mark” Mary Reed joined Rackams crew foretold his fate that was soon coming.
Wow Anne bonny sounds so posh.
she is posh. Her real name is Lady Clara. Her dad is a maquis in england.
I love Tony what a wonderful cast. I still think Black Sails is my favorite. Series. EVER,,,,!!!
Black Sails Two please!!!
Yea it sucks they neve did a Treasure Island sequel. If you didn't know this is a prequel to Treasure Island. Not to patronize but Idk your age and I doubt more than 1-2% of ppl under 35 know it, sadly.
Reboot it with Treasure Island!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Samuel Desjardins it's a prequel to treasure island
True. But now, they should reboot Treasure Island with the remained cast of Black Sails! It would make totally sense!
I love them so much! I always loved Treasure Islands as a kid, but now, with the background story, which takes place before the original story of Treasure Island....even more!
now i'm going to be watching Billy to see if he is doing that with his face lmao
My favorite Tv series!
9/10 of series actors are australians. Amazing actors/actress. More rugged and sporty version of british people
я нихрена не понял, но мне понравилось)))
Rip elizabeth
Yes. I loved the character, felt really sorry for her.
Great show. 4 seasons weren’t enough
Love Black Sails so AWESOME
Luke Arnold and Toby Stevens are so awesome
watching it 3rd time in a row on HULU
STARZ Time for Treasure Island with Luke Arnold
Jody wheres Karen???😂😂😂
Wondered what they all looked like clean. Lol
Was always waiting for Johnny Depp to swing in! Lol
Best show, why its so underated maybe because of VERY bad marketing
Walking dead shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Black Sails or GoT.
You now what you have to do when someone's not corpsing? You send in the man....the Macho Man.
Omg they are real people 😂😂

Just kidding 😆
this was better than GoT crap
mY dRagOnS boo hoo hoo
The dialog does sound a lot like your reading parts of a book that aren't actually said in the book, yk?
they play very fuckin strong characters in the show seeing them talking normal kind of weirding me out
RENEW WITH SEASON 5
i hate that they make billy turn into bad guy
0:15 she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.
How can a character be too badass?
Yeah I think black sails is better than TWD or GOT
so vane's voice is different now, ..........
Nora?
priceless
King roan from azgeda
I am soon mad...how could they kill vane. I not watching the next season....aagggh, I have to. I'm hooked on this show. I just hope they don't kill anymore major players...except elenor Guthrie.
Well, the characters like Charles, Anne, Blackbeard, and Calico Jack were real historical pirates with real deaths after varying lengths of careers in piracy, so there is some following of historical accuracy. Though of course, the show took some creative license with how they interacted and how their deaths went. A little sad they didn't have Mary Read as well, since she did work with Anne and Jack in piracy, but I can't complain about the real pirates they did include. According to what I looked up, actual Charles Vane was hung in Port Royal rather than Nassau. But, yeah, I really liked his character too and was sad to see him go. *It's sooo weird to hear the actor's real voice rather than Vane's accent, by the way. Lolz*
Sarah Katzenmeyer yeah so true! cause I was in love with the voice and the swag🙈🙈🙈. should check my history because I live in jamaica...just a couple Miles from Port Royal.
Eleanor Guthrie died last episode :)
Well thanks for that spoiler... Season 4 isn't on Netflix yet so I haven't seen that yet...
I am really into history...
The Golden Age of Piracy and The Viking Era...
Could anyone of you good people enlighten me with what was before Viking era legend wise (like the era of Roman empire and the history before that....)??
I tried googling about it... but wasnt satisfied by the results...
Thank you in advance...
My two favorite periods as well! But I don't really understand your question. What was before the Vikings...where? The Roman Empire never reached Scandinavia and collapsed in 5th century AD. The first Viking raid on England (the Lindisfarne raid) was in 793. Prior to that vikings were just scattered tribes of farmers, they didn't sail anywhere and they were, well, pretty boring. If you are looking for some interesting legends and movies to watch, I suggest you look up the Ninth Legion. This was a Roman legion tasked with conquering Scotland in 2 century AD but it never succeeded and mysteriously perished. There are some good movies on the subject, namely Centurion, directed by Neil Marshall (who directed some of the Black Sails episodes as well). Fun fact: after romans failed to conquer Scotland they built a wall which separated it with England and it spread across the whole island. This wall became the inspiration for the Wall in Game of Thrones, and some parts of it survive to this day. Neil Marshall got his idea for Centurion after visiting them.
@@tipsywoodpecker
Wow thanks ...
My question was, what were the other legends world wide?... such as 17th~18th century was famous for pirates and 9th~10th century was famous for Vikings...
But you pretty much answered it...
Thanks again...
@@marcus.the.younger no problem, glad I could help!
Love all the actors, but Luke Arnold! ❤
Zach too!
And Tom!
It would have been awesome if they had casted Johnny Depp as John Silver but i have to admit, Luke Arnold is the next best thing... i am halfway through the show and I love him more than Cap. Flint....
Smart, funny, cautious and opportunist??
Well thats the kind of guy I would like to be friends with...
Edit: and how could i forget about Rackham... he is absolutely hilarious
Jack Sparrow is inspired from Jack Rackham.
@@mirceadacialorantbrescia4340
Calico Jack Rackham??
dude you are delusional !
but not the character itself...
the character was inspired on Treasure Island's Pirate King, Long John Silver... !
@@marcus.the.younger LoL no

well its the truth...
if you dont wanna agree, it cool...
i am not here to lecture...
I don't understand. the show didn't really happen?
Lol "Stacked it" not heard that for so long.
Charles Vane/Bruce Wayne
wow this used to have way less views
Crazy to know that most of these actors are actually American
Only Zach..
Man, and here I thought Flint was Fassbender. How can he not be?
Sounds so posh
Jack rackam characters looks much cooler than the real person playing him
Hate the fact they stopped...
Its so disturbing to hear people talk about discrimination like they truly know what it was like to be slaves or jews, or women before the 70s. please understand it goes well beyond a couple of people said some mean offensive stuff, or excluded you from a couple things.
+Remc0 Schedel
reasonable argument but , You don't have to be a part of something for it to wear off on you or have repercussions on your lifestyle. Example, You say that you specifically never whipped a single black man onto a boat. I believe you but that's not to say that perhaps a member of your family did if they owned slaves and while this is NOT your fault, you directly hold those prejudices that your family has passed down if any. Of course not the stories of it, but the ideals of hate, frustration, complete indifference to those different than you. Ask yourself honestly, what's the first thing your mind jumps to when you see people acting and speaking differently than you do culturally. The first trait you may have learned is "Im better than them" or "Oh my God these people again, I hate dealing with them they're all the same." OR If you're with friends you probably crack snarky jokes as this is also a common inherited trait. That is all directly related to the ideals passed down from slavery.
+Remc0 Schedel
To your second point you have to earn respect not just get it. What would people culturally different than yourself have to do to earn this respect? How did you earn yours? or was it given already?
picture this. imagine your family were beaten, and sold as property...your mom or sister standing there dirt naked in a world they don't know taken from the rest of your family. Why? Because it suits someone else's needs and because you would be considered lower than dirt. now picture your children's children's children's children's children's children's great grandchild is finally emancipated after 500 years
All is well now right? Well not really. Once your relatives were freed they could not buy trade own or settle on land. They were also still not allowed to vote themselves, have hunting supplies on them nor go to schools to learn anything. Now say to that distant relative you have to earn respect. Pick yourself up and get out there and put some effort into it. The only thing Your relative could do was either go back and work as "servant" or steal, pilfer, or beg. This dilemma and emotional scarring will then be sent down 4 more generations (1965) after that until finally your relatives are able to attend reasonable schools.
You see that earning any kind of respect was and, because of inherited prejudices, is still next to impossible to do. Remember your relative couldn't even be seen with tools to build a boat to sail away on and good luck trying to hire one with your skin color and no money. Most time they were picked up and sent to prison. Which is a whole other problem.
Really try to understand this because only then can we heal this rift in our modern society as you rightly put it. We must have it in our minds to treat people and think of people as brothers and sisters of this earth even if they're not like us. For if we can't do that what are we but lost.
Atomsk ThePirateKing Exactly the type of cognitive dissonance I've come to expect. Make a joke out of harsh realities and real social issues.
monokhem Black people could not own slaves. They could not vote. They could not own land or property, they could not intermarry. There are many independent articles that bend truths give alternate facts claiming Blacks bought sold, and traded slaves more than white slave owners. And they were more to blame for the slave trade even happening.
This is called cognitive dissonance theory. More simply, consistency theory.
Example. A doctor illegally experimenting on babies knows its wrong but, for consistency sake, He claims its for the greater good. I'm helping people.
Same thing with prejudice.
"I nor my family ever owned slaves but black people sure did. The whole reason we went to Africa was to spread goodwill and provide schools and opportunity for a chance at a better life in America, its black peoples' disobedience and defiance, their disrespect and unwillingness to compromise that caused all these problems, but what can you do that's just the way they are."
See everything becomes right when people change their consistencies to match their promoted conduct.
monokhem This blind hatred for me is exactly my point. Instead of trying to heal together and admit to errors predominantly on one side but not entirely one sided you would push further apart. Every time someone would like to treat that traumatic experience for both whites and blacks called slavery, you seem unwilling to even discuss it maturely. I have not been disrespectful towards you this whole time nor name called. Have I stated harsh realities, yes, but not in an effort to incite anger, but rather in an effort to heal. As simple as with two fighting siblings for example. The incident has to be revisited in order to heal. If it is not trauma however small begins to mold itself as hatred, fighting, name calling etc.
In reality some spanish, portuguese, and british ancestors took African people against their will and beat them into submission. I know its is hard to swallow. We need to be comfortable hearing these truths instead of one of us becoming angered and name-calling.
I would be naive to think no black person ever did anything wrong ever, I'm not saying they're flawless. But they are not the main cause of 300 years of slave trading. Lets just be honest and stop all the name calling.

Great show shame the ending was a pile of garbage
Really good show but the last season of the show sucked.
There was only so far they could go with the ending because the next part is Treasure Island. Kind of tied their hands before they started
@@georgelamptey5784 no they clearly didn't read the book, they made no introduction on any kind to Treasure Island
