VGG MUSEUM PROGRESS! Removing a Fence and Trees with my John Deere!

- Published on Jun 19, 2025
- It's time to start clearing out the rear of the building for more space and preparation for construction. Rather than pay someone, a guys headed into town with his John Deere to see what he can clean up!

Hi Derek, architect here! I have a suggestion for the flow of traffic through the building. Send people through the exhibits first, and put the merch last. Typically, if people have to carry their merch through the museum, they are much less likely to buy the merch. Keeping a place like this open is expensive, and I want to make sure you can maximize your income to keep things balanced!
Exit through the gift shop
At the Ryman in Nashville they snap your picture on the stage for free, just pick it up in the gift shop😂
If that’s how Disney does it, it’s the right way!!
Agree, makes sense. 😊😊😊😊
The air museum near me does that too. You enter at one side of the building and start seeing airplanes as soon as you walk in, but the museum exit is through the gift shop. I have yet to make it out without buying something.
I'm trying to downsize into a barndo so I can enjoy my remaining years surrounded by junk. What you're doing and what I'm trying to do is different but similar, and I know that look on your face. I see it in the mirror. ;) Here's a donation to get your help a couple of burgers. Good luck to you!
What a guy!
I've been watching the progress from across the street and it's been awesome!
I'm sure it's nice to have a previously vacant building brought back around.
That's cool!
Gotta put "Independence " in there, that's what people want to see. "Vanishing paint ",too.
@@leroyraatz5650 YUP! 10-4!
I bet your property value is going up! 😂😂😂
Progress progress progress……. Looking good VGG👍👍👍👍👍
Appreciate you, for continuing the hard working man tradition!
You bet!
I appreciate a working RUclipsr that isn't retiring at 40 and really appreciates his fans.
@MIForrestguy it's not for everyone. Fame and fortune is not easy on the family
Yes keep it up bud,out of everyone I think the property owners around ur shop will be appreciating the clean up and building repairs most
@@thegreatwhite-hd3uo yea and making their property value go up
The residents are likely extremely happy that you have decided to beautify the old eye sore and transform it into an awesome museum open to the public! Can't wait for the events you and your wife have plans for small town involvement, donations and fairs!
Wow, it is starting to look good there. Looking forward to visiting your place. Its going to be Awesome!
I like the little model A Town. Be fun to pose in there and take pictures😊.
Dear Derek, love your project. Will be a wonderful place to go for the fans. Perfect colour. The only thing I'am worried about is that you might get overrun by people especially on weekends and holidays. Vice Grip Nation has grown so big now hope there won't be any trouble handling the amount of visitors and the parking situation especially in this small town surrounding. You're such a humble down to earth person that you might underestimate the popularity of the project as the headquarter of Vice Grip nation. As others have these kind of business ideas and plan too big this might be too small on the long run. Wish you all the success in the world and keep on the good work👍🙏😀😎🛠️💞
I agree but the flip side is if he has to upgrade he's at least doubled the value of that property by fixing it up and bringing it up to code after years of neglect...
thats the beauty of the car community though is that they actually have enough respect not to do that. but you have to remember the demographic of viewers Derek has is going to be more family oriented, older parents, grandparents, etc., not your typical 18-25 viewer.
And they only need to go once so there's that.
Man why can’t all fellers on YT be like Derek! 🙏🏻 GOD BLESS and keep doing great things!
No worries Derek! Build it and they will come! Vice Grip Garage of Dreams 😊
Been watching since you were first wranchin on snow machines in Minnesota. What a blessing it is that you’re able to do this and make your family proud. Makes a guy really think if you work for it and add a little luck. You can really do whatever makes yourself happy. Can’t wait to bring the family from good ole Oklahoma and meet you again but this time at your Museum!
That neighborhood is going to be so grateful to you for resurrecting and reviving that whole property. The town may just give you a key to the city, if that's still a thing in small towns. Regardless, your neighbors will love you for the transformation! Can't wait to move back east to that area and be a frequent flier at VGG HQ and Museum! Good Bless you, brother!!!
Not to mention the amount of business it's gonna bring to restaurants, bars, and other small local places.
@@brandongreene3213 I had that thought as well while writing it, but opted for brevity. Well, some semblance of it anyway. But, YES, the boon to the local economy will be huge! Derek Bieri, making life better wherever he turns up!!
Best of Luck Derek . I have been a fan for a minute . Just wanted to say that You're the type Northerner's that We enjoy Welcoming to the South . I know . Ha Kudo's !
Major effort at preserving history! Appreciate your channel, videos!
Thanks for adding to my “must visit” museums in America 🇺🇸 ❤
Derek I honestly don't know how you find the time to do all you do . I really do appreciate what you do for all of us to keep us entertained an informed on what's goin on .an what you do for people to help them out .I can say you are a very blessed man to have a wife an life partner who understand s the time it takes ..GODBLESS you an your family for all you do . Thank you .
Easy the checks that come at the end of the month!
Looking great Derek! Awesome progress. Love your vision and dedication! Forever a fan❤️
The museum will be amazing Derek , I feel you should invite your RUclips buddies over for the Grand Opening 😊. Cheers 🇨🇦
Great progress!! Derek……you are a land baron now! And, you are doing a “land revival”! Great suggestion from the architect as I have 30+ years in architecture.
I loved the place so much i bought the whole town. Welcome to ViceGrip Tennessee.
An amazing revival. A building revival! Nobody takes the abandoned, discarded and unused and brings it back to life better than you. You are making the world better one vehicle and one building at a time. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Whistlin Diesel has a tank you can borrow if you don’t mind the place looking like a war zone….
watching on my lunch break. what a treat. visiting the VGG Museum is on my bucket list... I was half expecting it to be painted rebuild black
Wow Derek the building is coming along really well. I can't wait to see it when it's done 🤠🤠🤠
Boy the neighbors must love you for cleaning that property up! It already looks tons better than what it was.
A massive project, I can't imagine how happy the towns people are seeing something finally being done with the building.
Looking forward to seeing the finished project.
It's looking good. Hope the neighbors appreciate the change and are not complaining about noise
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Why would they complain about anything?! You definitely don't know how small town USA people are! The real small town people not the run aways from their own policies they voted for!
Awesome video! Progress is happening! Thank you for sharing!😊
Looking good Derek! Making great progress!
Can't wait till the museum is open, plan on coming to check it out and show my support to Derek and V.G.G.
Hi Mr. Derek, the place is really looking great. I can’t wait for you to get it finished.!!…. T-shirt sound like a great idea I’ll buy one!
It's so fitting for you to own, open, and run a museum. Lucky me cause I only live about an hour north!!
I live in Texas but bet your most prized possession I’ll do the trip there once it opens
@@MarianoLusafe travels friend!! It'll be worth it!!
So excited to see this progress and the Tshirt idea really grabbed at me especially if you throw a “founders club” with a date on it. I’m always a sucker for those type of runs. Good luck with the venture, it is looking really nice and I’m sure the neighbors are liking it more each day.
Hi Derek, Cotton Candy Salesman here. Just my opinion, I think you should have the merchandise at the end of the tour. Typically visitors balk at buying merch first and then having to carry it around while visiting. 👍🏼
Nice progress Derek🎉🎉🎉 so awesome that you will have a museum! If I'm ever in the area I will definitely come see it once it's finished!
I'm going to Nashville for a family reunion in November. Hoping an old guy can drop in and check out the museum. It's looking better every time we see it. All the best to you and your family, Derek.
Looking good Derek, it will be great when finished!
Heck yeah! Looks great. I think if you let everyone know which items are for sale to help fund the building it would be helpful for sure. Hats, cold snack holders, T shirts, your own line of beer, which ever. Look forward to chipping in.
Hey! Derek! Nice to seeing you work the John Deere! Can't wait for the museum!🤠
Awesome. I cant wait till its finished and open. I will most definite be coming from northwest alabama to see, visit, and whatever else is available to do
Looking good can't wait to come and see it in person
thx for the update Deeker. A feller sure has a lot of pokers in the ol' firepit.
It's amazing how the old musty smell in a place changes from the first cleaning process, and then getting fresh paint on a place takes it to a new level of clean! After a time an old sort of fragrance may emerge, but it won't be offensive. It will just simply smell like an older building.
I lived in a, old house built in the '20's. That was my experience there. The house had serious mold issues especially in the basement apartment. I had previously lived in the second floor apartment, and came back to that basement a few years later. I took liberties to do some minor remodels & renovations when I lived there. Took up old linoleum flooring, cleaned the cement floor and the outer walls. sealed leaks with quick set hydraulic cement, then I painted and made my own deco stucco with old joint compound and mortar mix. My dad helped me build a shower in the little bathroom cuz the tub was disgusting! It was all rotten wood underneath from bad plumbing that leaked! That basement became a palace!
Stayed warm & quiet like a bear cave once I filled the pneumonia holes with spray foam.
Great memories! Lots o fun!
Great to see the pro-gress there Derek!
I hope it gets a nice car museumy smell to it! Lacquer paint and leather seat smell. Nothing like it.
@@cdoggyish That'll do 'er I agree! The cleaned up old building smell will be a subtler note or a back bone among the fragrance layer medley.... right on!
We spent Christmas in Nashville with our daughter and checked the building out then. We’re going again next month and hope to see the progress in person. Following this project is a lot of fun. Looking forward to getting a t-shirt with a museum theme. Thank you!
I can’t wait to see the museum done and come see it god bless
The museum build is looking awesome. The transformation so far from when you first showed it is amazing. Keep rocking it out
I love that you don't just throw money at everything even though you probably could. Thanks for keepin' it real like most of the rest of us.
A lot of work done Derek looking great. Bet all folks around there appreciate you cleaning that place up and making it look good
It's coming along nicely. Thanks for the update.
👍👍👍👍👍👍☝️
I did like the old glass blocks that were up front it gave it more of an old time vintage look . Mybe an addition of some old gas pumps maybe some metal vintage oil cans or even the oil that was in bottles . Of course some neon signs . I noticed the bullet nose Studebaker in the lot that would be great car to restore and display .
Hi from Michigan, Derek I love the John Deer going into town for some work and hey why not get some groceries on the way home love it ...great video love seeing the progress
The museum is coming along great glad to see you working on something you truly care about
Big project Deko but like someone’s said the merch needs to be on the way out as it will slow down the foot traffic and people won’t want to carry merch . More power to you old son keep going 👍
Awesome video. Museum is coming along and looking great
dag fellar its come along way , looking way better , cant wait to come there and buy some stuff ............
Thanks for the update, can't wait to come up from Austin, TX to come visit and hope to meet a guy. And pay omage and respect to VGG.
Carpool! haha
Has a fella ever heard of a kinetic rope? They are made for pulling out stuck vehicles, but I have used mine to pull out trees. It works very well, just cut the tree off at about 6' so that you have leverage. I've pull 3 out with my old 1/2 ton Square. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to visiting!
Thank you for showing the updates. The building is looking awesome
Hi Derek nice video 📹 and workmanship place is shaping up
Been waiting for an update. The museum is really looking amazing. I hope one day to get the chance to visit after you get it done.
Great update video lots of progress!
What I love about Derek is he seems genuine with everything he does on RUclips. He hasn't goon the wayside of people pandering to the trends of FLASHY LENS FLARE, DUBSTEP, QUICKCUT, nonsense. I'd like to meet the guy someday! Keep up the work on the museum! I live in Utah and probably never be able to make it that way, but it is starting look great!
Hey there you are absolutely right about him ! Met him in the airport in Toronto in April when he was heading to New Brunswick for the car show. Guy is funny, genuine, and actually does what he says!! He travels alone with no film crew or anything, stops and talks to people and when I asked him…are you really going to buy a car in New Brunswick and drive it home??? He said heck yeah them flights are expensive 😂😂😂
I've met the feller quite a few times. Just a very chill guy that I wouldn't mind sharing a cold snack with!
He really is cool play him at the duct tape drags with my son. We walked up and asked how he was doing and gave him a fist bump he is an extremely hard-working dude we watched them just go go go go the whole time we were there we were parked directly next to him in the pit, super cool and down to earth feller
No chance of that happening
Love small town vibes of being able to park tractor at Kroger, and no one bats an eye, grew up in similar small town, love channels and your beautiful family. Everyone is great!!
It’s looking great so far keep up the great work
Lookin great, can't wait till it's open and I can make a trip down.
DEREK starting to look good guy ; ) you have a nice chunk of land + that after you get going . Could make cruising hang out + even place man . I still have this 53 210 Chevy 4dr 235/6 original sitting in my backyard . Haven't wanted to put on Ebay yet , still hopeful that can find someone to restore her lol . Blessings to the museum & family sir ,MorWil Payson, AZ ; ) Thanks
Derek, quite a transformation since you started! I'm impressed with how much you accomplish with all the projects, travel and caretaking your growing properties etc. Wow!
Great job on the fence demo.
Thanks for the update Derek, it had been on my mind.
Its coming along nice.
George, Tacoma
Getting closer to the final reveal can't wait awesome job
Its looking great ita coming right along way to go ya all
Operating that tractor must be fun. Good stuff
Love the progress on the new project of the museum. It's going to be beautiful. Looking forward to visiting it. One day time is too short so I need to get myself together and get on up there and see you. Enjoy your videos. All the vise grip garage video. Your family is doing a fantastic job. Thanks for all you do!❤
A guy as the museum coming along nicely . Looking forward to seeing it in person after it’s done to check it out 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi Derek, can't wait for the opening...thanks for all the videos on both channels...
Looking great! That Deere really runs! Made nothing out of those stumps and fence posts! Looking forward to seeing the museum when I 'm out visiting my girlfriend in Culleoka! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the update! Looking forward to visiting. Just hope it’s wheelchair accessible for my wife.
Good luck. Amazing series. I love it all
Love all that you do brother,God bless.
Sure enjoy these updates . Best wishes !
Keep up the good work, a third function valve and grapple would be a game changer for you on that nice John Deere
Your building looks to be shaping up nicely. Now that you have the “backyard” cleaned up, the outside will be close to being done! Looking forward to the next update!
Thank you so much. For the update on this. I watch the other channels too .
Thanks for sharing. Your friend motor Mike. From Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Your neighbors must be loving how their property values will go up with the cleanup of this gem of a building :)
I am excited about coming to visit.
It's looking great. Can't wait to visit!
I drove with the family from central TX to NW NC over Memorial Day weekend and on the way back, just scooted on by the new museum and got a quick pic of the front. Can't wait for this to open so we can make that a stop when travel back and forth!
Derek you should've took one of them tree stumps and had someone make a wood bowl 🥣 for memory. Everything is coming along great. GOD BLESS!
Can't wait to hopefully shake a fellers hand again! Looking fantastic.
Hi Derek, now you have a place to put all your fan gifts. I'm sure you could easily decorate a wall with all your license plates. You're making some good progress, keep it up.
I drive by occasionally to check out the progress. 👍
See you at O'Reilly's or on the side of the road whichever comes first 😂🤣
Definitely on the bucket list! It is really coming together nicely and will be a nice jewel in the town. It's very obvious that this is not Derek's first time with a tractor and bucket. Great to have tools....better to know how to use them. Thanks for taking us along.
I love it! I think the natural brick looks good in the Model A room!
The Museum is coming along nicely can't wait to see the finished result
I could watch a Feller work a tractor like that ALL day! Thanks for the glimpse Derek! See you in October at The Duct Tape Drags! Picture time!
It’s coming along great. It’s gonna be a destination on my next vacation!!
I plan to take a trip to your museum when it opens!!!!
Nice work vice grip team great video. Mr vice grip id like to say thats some mighty fine tracor finesse. It's fun to watch.
Happy Monday fellas
