Rittenhouse and the other guy were both Justified in my book as far as the actual shooting. They maybe shouldn't have been there with the rifles in the first place but if someone's wrestling me for my gun I'm going to assume they're taking it to use it on me sorry

Don’t ever concede the idea that Kyle “shouldn’t have been there” regular people can’t be somewhere but rioters can? Kyle Rittenhouse didn’t absolutely nothing wrong.

@@YMCLilRodney I meant the other two guys that were chasing the other black dude

My reply keeps getting deleted. I don't think kyle R did anything wrong. If bad guys are allowed to Riot and cause problems across the city then good guys should be allowed to stand up for the right thing and opposing equal but opposite Force for good

Such a valuable lesson. Great speakers as always. Like the spirit of sincere love to audience and the background painting. Keep the good work.

In Bexar county (San Antonio area) Texas, two car lot employees chased some guys who had dumped trash in the business parking lot and got in a running gun battle on the highway. Unfortunately one of the employees wrecked at high speed and died in the pursuit.

Why would you chase a “threat”?

    • @garagemetalshop7975

If they were running with a weapon near an innocent person, for example, as these gents mention, police can do it, but as a citizen, generally no.

Well in my case he had the phone he’d just taken out of my coworkers hand.
But trust me, the predator drive is a real thing. The moment they run you want to chase. It’s instinct.

Can you do a video on civilian body armor and recommendations for reputable companies? I've been reading some stuff like the Shotstop investigation and would genuinely like to get a good bullet proof vest without being scammed.

Solid knowledge and training will "should" work out the impulses to pursue and cross those moral lines. Great topic!

The problem isn't that someone might be upset after their wife was threatened and their daughter ziptied like that. The problem is that you see that happened, and know damn well the cops aren't going to do anything about it, just take a report and file it in the circular file. How many times has John said "I doubt the cops are looking for them..." or something like that? I get what you guys are saying, and in abstract I understand the theory, but in the "real world" crime is often legal now, or unenforced, while doing anything about it is illegal, and crazily *THAT* law is enforced.

Great lesson, great guest. These are the aspect no one thinks about. In the movies, they just walk away from a shooting and get lunch. And even if you beat the criminal charges, then all the relatives come out of the woodwork with their multi-million dollar lawsuits (with a lower burden of proof - 51%) that can go on for years.

Unfortunately for this man, the courts are going to rule the threat was over. Chasing after them made him an aggressor.

Something I learned from history, specifically the Old West...
ANY GUNFIGHT YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIRE A SHOT TO WALK AWAY FROM IS A WIN. EVERYTHING ELSE, IS BREAKING EVEN OR LOSING OUTRIGHT.
I win "gunfights" every day- because I carry openly, and never even have to draw. This doesn't mean that I don't train for the day when I have to break even.
I just take the wins with a smile. I know that I probably won't break even if it ever came down to it. I don't let it stop me from trying my damndest to win every "gunfight" that might crop up.
It is far better to not need what you have, than to need what you don't, in my thirty odd years of experience...

Yeah no gunfight is really a win. It's always gonna cost you too much. So any gunfight we can avoid is the real win!

Somehow I missed the original video. However, after watching it, I am not sure I agree that the Dad/Store owner was in the wrong IN THIS CASE. These suspects committed armed aggravated robbery and kidnapping, both F1s in my state, and both which are enumerated deadly force crimes. The Dad gave minimal, immediate chase to the outside parking area and opened fire on the fleeing felons (suspects). It could be easily argued that those fleeing armed felons posed a significant continuing and immediate threat to the community. I think this is a tie that goes to the Dad. Having said that, civilians chasing fleeing felons is always TACTICALLY unwise.

I agree with your premise, but unfortunately I don't think a jury is going to. If they try that as a defense, the prosecutor is likely going to argue that 'stand your ground' only applies if you 'stand your ground', and going after the bad guys is the job of the police. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

The government does not care about who is right or wrong they want to send the message that you are better off being a victim and letting the bad guys alone, the gov wont deal with criminals and don't want anyone else to either.
