Hello. I watch this video while looking for Zo's Tuba. I am currently using Melton's old 2165. I have a plan to sell this and buy a new Zo if I have a chance. Do you think that choice is correct? If it's a bad choice, please give me advice.
Hello, thank you very much for your question. Both the Zo and the Eastman are easy to play tubas, with a good sound and good workmanship. The key question is whether they will last a long time. In my opinion, your choice depends on the use you are going to give them. If you plan to play them a lot, it may be a good idea to look for brands that have proven durability. If, on the other hand, you are going to play them moderately, I think you will have no problem. I hope I have been helpful. Best regards.
David ! Your reviews have been helping me a lot Eastman is pretty expensive and more than Zo Because I live near china, I can get zo with cheaper price So it’s about 8000$ between zo and eastman As amateur player Im looking for tuba for the rest of my life I know both sounds are good but the how about durability? Zo is as good as eastman? Im not sure cause no one has used Chinese tuba for 50years like german one
Hi Jimmy, thank you very much for your comment. The question about the durability of these tubas is the key question that all tuba players ask themselves. Several tuba players who bought EASTMAN 6 years ago report problems with the machinery and with the leadpipe of the tuba. Therefore, if you are looking for a tuba for life, it is better to bet on more established brands, like B&S or Melton...
