  • The weather has not been very cooperative so it took me almost 2 weeks to shoot this video. Things are changing everyday now though. Dealing with bugs, no rain and no warm weather either :(

    Just lovely. Don’t worry about the weeds they just want to cover the soil.

    I think that’s a wonderful thing to remember in our gardens to just appreciate what we have put together in the garden. Great reminder. I’m a purple girl as well. You have a beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing.

    Your baptisia look so beautiful. I have tried to plant baptisia in my garden and something eats the entire plant the first night it is in the ground. Wish I could figure that out. Your garden is such an inspiration!

      Thank you! I had a problem at another property where a skunk would dig up every newly planted plant. I just kept putting it back in and finally left it alone.

    Dear Friend,
    Love your gardens. That said I wish you had not planted that Silver Maple. I think you will be very disappointed with it. The root system crawls over the top of the ground, and that's the nice thing about a Silver Maple. They grow quickly and will shade out so many of those things that grow beneath them, like the Pinky Winky Hydrangeas. The helicopter seeds are produced in massive numbers and I would swear they have a near 90% germination rate. I truly despised the two Silver Maples my husband planted when I was at work. I wish I had destroyed them early on instead of waiting for them to get 30 feet tall. Perhaps they grow differently in your location, but they were messy trees that made sure you tripped any time you walked near them.

    I have Regal Splendor and Krossa Regal, Brother Stefan and August Moon as well as a few more. They get morning sun but late afternoon shade. The bed started out sunny but after some trees came down I think the plants gradually adapted.

    You have such a dreamy garden! I just noticed the Common Milkweed. I've been so nervous to plant it in mine because I've heard it spreads and takes over. What has your experience been with it? Thanks for sharing!

    Robin, the garden looks beautiful! I have a few Oh-so-easy roses and I haven't found how to best care for them. They bloom in the spring once, but after that I just get a few blooms here and there. Nothing impressive. What recommendations do you have? I've used rose food, I prune them, I've used Neem Oil, and they just don't seem to perform well in my garden 6b. I've had them now for 3 years. They are in full sun. Thank you!

      I also use Rosetone, deadhead and frankly have so do luck here with roses. This year I moved a bunch into containers. Fingers crossed 🤞

    First time watching, your channel and Wow what a big pretty garden! You own your own nursery? I like repeat of some things that I love and that do well but I also like a lot of variety, I think it keeps it interesting! I love to go to box stores and nurseries at the end of each season and get things so I can always have stuff blooming for each season! I read in your comments that you got rid of your daylilly primal scream? One of my favorites and have been wanting to get a lot more day Lilly’s. Another one I really want that’s always sold out is ruby spiders which looks similar to it. Do you watch any videos of other RUclips gardeners?
    A girls channel and it’s called Jes ? She has a beautiful gully garden.
    P.s. looking forward to seeing your dahlias and Lilly’s in bloom.

    What type of kousa dogwood at 49.11? How old is it? I planted mine this year. it is a Satomi kousa dogwood. It looks pathetic. It got frost bitten late May.

    • @letstalkgardeningwithrobin
      @letstalkgardeningwithrobin  Год назад +1

      No specific variety just a standard Kousa dogwood. Not a Satomi. I planted it 7 years ago. Probably would prefer a different location more as an understory tree but it’s not moving 😀

    How did you manage to get rid of your orange daylilies?? I’ve been battling orange ditch lilies for years!! 😩 I’m ready to use serious chemicals and hope it doesn’t kill the surrounding plants.
