They have "jobs to do" by default in the game, following their scripted orders, and are getting manipulated to follow their orders out of script in ways beneficial to the glitch runner.
I have seen arbitrary code execution explained many times, many ways, in many games, and never before have I seen it explained so elegantly and simplistically. Wonderful job with that whole segment.

@@aradia9726 some speedrunning communities tend to chop out some of the more extreme glitches that saw off basically the entire game from the any% category and move them to a major glitches or any% unrestricted category. this isn't a brand new idea, this isn't outlandish, its been around for a while. idk if its like this in the super meat boy speedrun boards but just putting this out there

With the thumbnails, yes it seems you have become a challenge RUclipsr, but as it has been highlighted time and time again, you are an outstanding story time RUclipsr. The complicated explanations are funny and easy to understand. The stakes are built up. A portion of the struggle felt is real. And you seamlessly direct us on what we should care about. After the first Kirby vids I figured you probably used Tool assistance for all of your runs, but doing this with only gamer skills also puts you firmly into my list of top gamers. Really enjoyed how you broke down the wrong warp explanation! I can normally somewhat follow along to that kind of thing but you made it much easier to grasp and it was hilarious with the characters expressions!
Something I’ve learned since tagging along after the first kirby TAS video is that a Sample video isn’t merely walking through a video game challenge. It’s a story with dramatically building stakes, often in a cinematic experience. The way you describe strategies and glitches has highs and lows that feel so natural, and your humor is so creatively woven in. It’s not every day someone turns a glitch explanation into a tense scene on the cusp of disaster and tragedy. The ability to make the journey legitimately somber by the end is such a talent as well. Love what you do!
On the bright side, if the popsicle stick trio get fired from their jobs at memory management, I'm sure they could get a gig as actors in TAS explanation videos. Their careers look bright!

That was probably the best explanation of how bugs/glitches work on the backend. That was way too accurate because your code really does just assume what it is doing is correct even when it's not.
I’ve just came across your content, this being the first video I’ve seen, and you’ve CERTAINLY earned a sub from me for such a brilliant explanation! (Even without the visual gags, which were a cherry on top. The metaphor/personification is really what made it clear, and obviously it helps that being entertaining = more engagement = more likely to pay attention and learn.) That was a tangent. Specifically, I’m mentioning the stack overflow explanation. With what little I know about exploiting tech, I actually thought you were explaining integer overflow at first, and so I did a quick search and now I realize the difference and how similar they are. Better yet, this recontextualizes my understanding, and I feel like wrong warps make more sense now. Anyways, top notch work!

I came here after the no pickming challenge. There the "home" to aggression range of the monsters was good explanation too. This might be your best script yet. You realized that understanding the wrong warp glitch is the most complicated yet interesting part of the challange, and tried to simplify and personify all of it to get the most out of it. With how it was cut it might have been a single note from a VST plugin / MIDI player that comes with a setting for reverb Or alternatively it could have been a lot simpler to just use whatever reverb effect comes with your editing software and apply it to a separate audio clip of the last note.
What in the actual hell _isn't_ possible with game glitches at this point? I mean, Sample literally entered the meatboy equivalent of the minus world, went to a nonexistent chapter 10, then managed to unlock the last chapter by picking up the same bandage multiple times.
Wow with a title lik this and just 100k views I expected some generic challenge run but this is the best video like this I have ever seen. You perfectly combined storytelling, glitch explanation using George and crew, funny script, smooth editing and emotional ending to create a masterpiece. Yeah as far as I can tell there’s no way to manipulate the screen position, but that would definitely be a sic strat

What in the actual hell _isn't_ possible with game glitches at this point? I mean, Sample literally entered the meatboy equivalent of the minus world, went to a nonexistent chapter 10, then managed to unlock the last chapter by picking up the same bandage multiple times.
