You don't have the links for the python script in the description... You have the Apple link, The TransMac link, the EFI link and the GitHub link for OpenCore. Am I missing somthing? Could you respond with the link?
Hello everyone, I have an old iMac that I want to boot using my Windows laptop. I have a USB stick available. Could you recommend the best tutorial or video to help me with this process?
I was able to follow the steps and create a High Sierra boot disk that my MackBook Air 2011 was able to see and boot from. When I go to install I received the error "The recovery server could not be contacted". I connected to WIFI and tried again and got the same message. I then tried Disk Utility and selected the internal drive, clicked restore and selected the USB drive as the source and it wrote the image to the drive. I removed the USB drive, rebooted and was prompted to select my Language and did but then it loaded back to the recovery console so it apparently just wrote to the disk as a bootdisk and can't recover from it and not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
When you follow this video, your recovery server issue will be resolved because the video link I am providing will guide you in creating a fully offline bootable USB drive for macOS
@@MzLearning Thank you for your response. The link you shared in your previous comment is the first video I watched which requires you to download the boot files from your google drive which you stated you had to take down (I need them for High Sierra). This led me to this video here and to use Python to pull down the files I thought were required to make the boot disk. The files it pulled down where BaseSystem.chunklist and BaseSystem.dmg. I wrote BaseSystem.dmg to my flash drive which was formatted as HFS and is a GPT partition and that's all I thought I had to do based on this video. I do see in the video that you sent me the link for that there are other steps for the older OS options but those didn't seem to apply to High Sierra. On the link you sent me near the end of the video it shows you copying those boot files to the root of the USB drive and I paused to look at the files and folders you have and compared it to what I have and I don't have those boot files and I have more folders than you do but not all of the ones you have in that video. using Python to pull down the High Sierra files but I do have the you say that it has to be connected to the internet to download additional files which I would gladly do but I don't think my drive has the correct files needed and I am not sure how to correct that since I followed this video and the link you sent me depends on you having the boot files which are no longer available for download from you. Thanks again for your help.
