He's basically "King" from Saitama but actually has the skills and powers to back it up lmao
The manga version has more detail but that's just a given. Honestly, I liked what they did with the animation. It shows that Alpha can easily recognize Shadow through combat alone even if he is disguised. It shows why she's the Alpha; someone who can wound Shadow.

They're running the serious context of the show by putting effort in all the wrong things. It's infuriating. They did it a lil in the first season as well but took it to an extreme level in this one
Manga had less fight more dialogue and build up. We as viewers who knew what was coming expected an extended fight, I guess this made us all disappointed. Give it a try again, rewatching it I feel like I can accept the anime version for its own direction too now.

The reasons for the naming is because of a story book he has so it coincidentally line up. Remember how he reacted when Alpha and the others leave him? He thought that the girls are becoming Independent and are becoming adults so they wouldn't have time to play with him anymore when the true story is that the girls are preparing for an all out war, of course he doesn't know that and the girls assumed he already knows. If you're asking about the Cult members they're fighting, Cid thought they're just bandits while he still thinks the girls are "playing along with him" to keep up the ruse of him being an Eminence in shadow. What about Aurora? Since this is the world of magic he thought it's just normal. All in all Cid is living in the world of his accidental making, he moved the gears but he didn't realize it and you can't fault him either because In his head it's all make believe.
I read the manga and damn how fast paced it is and its pure plain since its focused on story details. Its like im looking into wiki of a game. And to enjoy the game better i try to understand and read the manga
