Hey folks- I've restarted this playthrough with all of the knowledge I've gained over these episodes. New series is here: ruclips.net/video/BzqWZ5TMAd0/видео.html
finally someone I can watch play terraria blindly, terraria might feel difficult to navigate at the start but once you get the hang of it its so smooth
Terraria, the game where you play 20 hours only to feel like you haven't improved in any fights and haven't learned anything. That's why I love it. No guidance
I remember when I played it the first time a few months ago. Let me tell ya it was hard to get into because this game was not what I thought it was. I thought it was more akin to a 2d Minecraft so I got bored a lot in the beginning while I didn’t know what I was doing. I think it was the first cave I entered that changed my whole perspective after I got Hermès’ boots and a fire mace 😂
Great video! Here's a few tips from a experienced player. -you need a hammer to break down the background walls -it's better to find a generated cave opening on the side of a hill instead of just digging down (you'll come across more chests) -there are heart crystals underground which increase your maximum hp up to 400 hp -you should start exploring the surface pretty early on -if you build more houses, more npc's start to move in (such as the Merchant who sells useful starter equipment), only 1 npc is allowed per house, a house needs to have a table, a chair, a door and background walls for a npc to move in -new npc's appear in the world once certain things are completed, such as collecting 50 silver coins or increasing your max hp, talk to the quide for more info on the objectives Bonus cryptic hint: prepare for a message in the beginning of a random night once you have 200 hp ;) Keep it up! Would love to see more!
I am a Terraria veteran, with well over 300 hours put into the game just on steam, let alone mobile and console. This game has been one of my favorite games for several years. No matter what I always come back to this game. I have played tons of mods and challenges to try and get a blind feel to the game again, but I just can't seem to find it. I am truly jealous of you for having the honor of having a blind playthrough of Terraria. I hope you enjoy(ed) it as much as I did!
I was cheering you on with the door and the wood, those were 2 things i struggled with on my first playthrough as well! Very enjoyable to watch dude, subscriber earned
You can push control for smart cursor it'll try to guess what you're trying to do and highlight where you're about to place with yellow (it will even perfectly space out torches for you)
I recommend crafting a bunch of platforms and just trying to get to the edges of your world just running from enemies there's lots of really good surface loot in chests
Honestly, I'm surprised he managed to build his first house. Terraria must have one of the most unintuitive early games, crafting menus and uis in existence.
Hey GeeVee I just found your channel, veteran terraria player here (like since I was 12 on xbox 360) and I recently started a new playthrough. I think i'm going to binge this whole series while I play, I really like your personality and your nails look great in this video. Much love!
It’s such a great game glad I found someone playing it brand new also it’s gonna hurt my soul watching u play cause I’ve played for several years and I know everything lol
Unfortunately stuff like placing doors is why blind playthroughs aren't all that common. Nonetheless, it's incredible seeing you take up the challenge!
what do you mean? surely placing a door isn't hard to figure out? you literally place it just like any other item, same as in minecraft, and most gamers have played minecraft at some point in their life. the real reason why blind playthroughs aren't common, is because it's hard to figure out what you're even meant to be doing, hard to find the bosses, etc.
You can craft a hammer to get rid of the walls that you did not want to place outside of the house. Also, if you place torches on the inside of your house and make sure the walls are filled in than the guide will move in. Make more houses to get more npc’s. Explore each side of the world for caves and ground level loot.
holy shit im gonna love watching this its so awesome seeing you learn how this game works honestly love watching you troubleshoot ideas until shit works its perfect! Super excited!
My first Terraria experience was with my best friend who is a pro but it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life and I'm so excited to see this guy play this game
I have a hard time with avoiding cheats to speed up a playthrough to be more how I want the experience to be. This will help me a lot with seeing how fast I should be progressing. I also can’t wait to see how you react to bosses and events later on. I know I’m at least a year late, but I’m making this comment anyways, and I intend to comment on every video for algorithm and stuff.
Corruption and Crimson are different early game in Corruption has only flying enemies while Crimson has ground and flying. Corruption also has gear meant for a specific class early game with Crimson targeting another. There is only 1 loot change from items between the 2 (not including enemies).
Also, in classic money drops on death, whereas on journey only about half money drops and you can duplicate items after researching (like if you get 100 stone you can get infinite of it) and duplicating works with every unmodded item. Edit: Also in journey you start with extra items, like the amount of rope to duplicate and better starting gear.
im gonna put tips in this comment that focus on things that are relevant even as early as you are in this game. I feel like explaining more advanced quality of life features this early on would be overwhelming so im not doing that. 8:57 that crafting menu from the guide lets you know what items you can craft out of a certain item. when you place an item in the empty slot, it will show you every item that includes your item in the recipe. I would recommend checking this often. Now that im talking about the guide, I should also say that the Help button just makes the guide say something vague about what your next objective is. this is also very useful for a beginner id imagine. 21:41 when you want to look for where the thing you want to craft is, you should click the little hammer icon there. it will show everything at once and clicking the item you want will bring you to that item in the column. One thing im noticing is that youre opening the inventory to do a lot of things that you dont need to open it for. I'd recommend experimenting with what you can do without opening it more. I saw that other people said this too, but you break background walls by crafting a hammer and using that. Whenever you want to quickly craft and place a single item, you dont need to put the item in the hotbar first. you can just click to craft, move your mouse to the world where you want to place it, and click to place. The same can be done by dragging out of your non-hotbar inventory. In case you didn't notice yet, trees drop acorns. You can plant new saplings by placing those. in this entire section 27:45 to 30:21 you could have had your inventory closed. if youre not crafting, moving items around or placing objects directly from your inventory, there is no reason to have it open. one thing you should craft as the first thing next time would be a wooden broadsword. you only need wood to craft it. This is something that experienced people do in like the first 20 seconds because the copper shortsword is pretty bad. Ok this was just the first episode and you didnt get much done yet, so I wont overwhelm with more. Just learning the very basics is necessary progress. Just remember to default to having the inventory closed instead of open. I think thats the main thing to make the gameplay look less stupid. looking forward to the next episode.
I am keen to watch and play along with you for my first time as well. As a long time minecraft fan (10 years) its going to be fun to play the games arch nemesis lol
Ngl lie as a terraria veteran this video is painful but also satisfying to watch it's painful for obvious reasons but it's satisfying because it's almost like experiencing terraria for the first time again. I wish I could erase all my knowledge of this game and play it again.
Don't dig into the ground you'll probably find a big cave opening somewhere across the surface, if you find a desert cactus armor is some of the best starting (you can hold shift and hover over it to tell which thing you need to break the cactus)
@@JoeLloyd3102 try 11 years lol. And yes it's still receiving updates past its "final" update. Mostly QOF stuff. Big modded community as well. It's similar yet different to minecraft. But in no way are they opponents. They go so far as to advertise each other. With minecraft saying try terraria. And terraria the opposite 😆.
If you put shift and hover over something like blocks or a tree it'll use the correct tool automatically (it will not automatically select a hammer for back walls it will instead try to place torches) it's previously stated hammers for destroying back walls you can also use hammers on normal blocks to change what they look like you can even Hammer platform to turn them into stairs (pls fix the house)
