- On our ferry flight from Boston to Western North Carolina we decided to alter our course so we could fly down the Hudson River along the New Jersey / New York City shores.
It was a beautiful day to fly down the Hudson River. We had never flown this route before so we did our research on the FAA Wings Progam website and took the online course and had the required pubs onboard the aircraft. We printed off our entire flight plan online, so for the most part we used those for our navigation but just to satisfy FAA regulations we acquired the NYC charts.
It was great, we got to see many of the well known bridges, statue of liberty and other landmarks i have seen pictures of. Surprisingly it was very calm and quiet flying near NYC, and it was very nice not having lots of flying restrictions.
Thanks for the tour down the river. Fantastic video!!👍👍ROG
Very cool!!!!! Great to see you back and shooting videos!!!!!!
I'm actually surprised these days that ellis island doesn't have a NFZ a quarter of a mile around it. ;-) Its good to see that the flight wasn't overly restricted. What a fun flight.
Awesome video Michael, I've seen those sight a couple of times but it would even better to see them this way.
awesome I'm from Staten island too bad you guys didn't fly over it
i really like your videos man, i try to watch them all. but the helmet mounted cam kinda screws with my eyes. motion sickness kinda. a mounted camera would be ideal. have a good day!
