Good survey of Maine’s US routes. Interesting that it has only US 1 and 2 as parent roads and 201, 202, and 302 as their children. When I got to know the US highway network 55 years ago, I marveled how we could get to and sometimes ride on US 202 in Delaware when US 2 was so far north. It was astonishing that it makes it all the way there to US 2 in Bangor! I also find it fascinating that the first US routes actually come together for a short concurrency in Houlton, not far from where you began this series. I think you got onto I-95 from US 2 just shy of New Brunswick; is that so?
@@waltersaul1807 where the series started, there’s actually an old abandoned pre-interstate border checkpoint that was used when US-2 ended right at the border. We were at the junction of US-2 and I-95.
Good evening from Beaumont TX. I would love to come up there to Maine one day
Nice drive if you watch the shadow you could see when it started south
