I was at a college program in Colorado and I just felt so down and out of it. My best friend had left for the army and I had just broken up with my girlfriend, I just wanted to give up and go home. However, it was announced that there would be an overnight trip to the mountains from Friday to Saturday, and I just decided "Y'know what? Screw it lets go." For whatever reason, I decided to sleep outside that night so I grabbed a sleeping bag, a mat, and two thick blankets. I fell asleep around sunset and I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I put this song on my phone to relax and go back to sleep, and when I went to lay down, I was just taken aback. I had never seen so many stars before in my life, and after a few minutes of gazing at the stars and listening to this song, I even saw a shooting star pass by. It was just so beautiful and serene that I truly felt at peace inside for the first time in a long time, and I will forever associate this song with the memory of that beautiful night.

For me, I was on a weekend trip to New York City a few years ago. I was staying in an old hotel in Harlem. A blizzard ended up rolling through NYC and left every thing with about 3 feet of snow on it. I was in a new relationship and missing my girlfriend very much. I felt frustrated because my weekend trip has just been extended for a few more days and would have to wait longer to see her. I remember laying down and listening to this song. It's not exactly a happy song, but this version just really mellowed me out. It was nice to take in the beauty of the city that never sleeps, now quite and covered in snow.

I love how they changed the sound of the song entirely. It's not just an acoustic version, they made it a whole new song.

I just feel they made it more dynamic than just converting the song to an acoustic version. It brings a different feel to the song. Just my opinion.

they changed the bpm and key, so it has a different feel and timing then the other, also some different strumming patterns and the drums are very quiet and parker is singing very low compared to how he usually sings i got u

I used to sing this to my daughter when she was a newborn. She'd fall asleep everytime.
Parker's voice is so serene and somewhat calming regardless how depressing and dark blue the song may be. I hope they do another ep like this.

This acoustic version made me heartbroken for no apparent reason.. i love it so much i could cry
Going through a horrible separation with the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and the day things ended, I found this song and it was EVERYTHING I needed. It hit me so hard to hear "I made the best of what I thought was impossible." because I've been living with CPTSD for 14 years and came from a life I truly didn't know I was going to survive. I feel absolutely empty and broken, but this song was there for me. Absolutely a beautiful masterpiece.
I come back listening to this everyday.

8 years ago I got this album first time listening to story so far. This song hit me deep still playing 12-10-21
I remember when this first came out, everyone started to hate but now everyone enjoy it, only had to listen, listen when you are happy or hurt because now they took sense in your head :3

i feel like this song resonates with everyone on relatively the same level. we all have that moment this song takes us back to when you hear it. almost like they wrote this song for those moments in our lives
