Im a black man and i dont see nothing wrong with this song. Its always people making a big deal because a white man said the word nigga. This song should be selling millions right now because its more relevant at a time like this. Im from west monroe/Calhoun,la. I grew up in the country where at night the damn bugs make loud noise at night every night. I grew up around dirt and gravel roads, high tall ass grass. We use to drink beer and moonshine out of glass mason jars. I really like this song it really goes hard.
I totally agree with you! I asked a question last to some people of the BLM movement about the N word. My question was, why do black people still use it, but when white people say it, it's racist.. If the word is that racist, then black people shouldn't say it also. The reason I asked that is because I saw a video the other day from a concert of a black HipHop artist. He invited a white girl on stage to rap with him, so she did! But the lyrics included the N word and when she said it, he stopped the music, the whole crowd and the artist went raging on the girl and let her rap again without letting her say that word.. I thought that was such an awful action of him.. He made the lyrics with that word, probably knowing that many people will listen to his music, including white people.. Also you have the song Rockstar from DaBaby. He made a new videoclip for that song for the BLM movement, with a new intro.. But instead of removing the N-word out of the lyrics, he just blurred it.. So now its even more noticable what the word should be at that point.. I'm against racism, but the N word is something I never saw as something racist, so if it is, I'll stop saying it, but it would be better if everybody, including the black people will stop saying it! ;) Sorry if some sentences are wrong, I'm from the Netherlands so English isn't my main language.

@@fathergascoigne6104 "Words themselves cannot be oppressive nor offensive, It is the manner and sentence(s) that it is used in. If it were used to degrade or humiliate someone, it would be considered the lack of intellectual competence. Jackass can mean a mule, a careless fool. The word nigger and nigga has been used to degrade African and African American people for hundreds of years though recent times have come to accept the use as a slang term used to refer to friend(s) or person in conflict. It is still used today as a desegregating term used by Hispanics, African Americans, And caucasians to refer to one or more African American or African man/woman. It all comes down to usage and sentence structure. To be offended by a word is simply stupid as you should be offended by the way it was used instead. One race cannot simply hold a word liable for their oppression and their previous abuse, they should blame the people of that time period and not those of the present. It is the same as accusing Native Americans of today for causing a near extinction in bison populations and over hunting them. It would simply place false accusations upon those who are innocent." - A.W
@you just the first sentence: saying words can't be offensive, but the manner they are used in is dumb. If you are using words to offend then words can be offensive by this sentences logic Also, the n word was used to put down black people for hundreds of years. Black people repurposed it for their own use to refer to a friend. Last time I checked Caucasian people don't get a say in what goes on in Black culture. Like it says we shouldnt hold current native americans accountable for the extinction of bison, we should still not deny that it was their ancestors who did it. We shouldn't blame white people now for what their ancestors did, but what they did has lasting effects that still affect black people today. I honestly don't think that white people should say the n word, but that's just my opinion.
@@fathergascoigne6104 That opinion is highly respected and I dont think it is really a word to be said freely by anyone, that being because of the history behind the word. It should be forgotten as all it has caused is recent trouble and problematic chaos among people. If the word is to be said by African Americans, It is a disgrace to their name and whole culture, like you said. Native Americans don't call themselves Redskins because that was what the "white man" called them. Just because a word Carrys a different meaning doesn't mean it can be said by one certain race. If we are to accept the fact it is a racist, degrading term, Then the word itself shouldn't be said by those of color or not. Like I said in my previous paragraph, One race cannot hold a term to themselves and say it freely. Especially a term that was used to degrade them. It would counter their argument on having to end racism while degrading themselves to a lower standpoint as of calling each other the word on a daily basis even if the word has changed definitions, it has not lost the value or basic foundation on which it formed upon.

Many Western societies, particularly those with colonial histories, have structures of privilege that favor white individuals. The perception of success by people of color can be seen as a threat to these historic power dynamics. Some people may react defensively to challenges against established norms and privileges.

@joe buffalo no, there actually is a lot of racism these days. I hesitate to say it, but odds are if you don't think there's a lot of racism around, then you just might be racist yourself
@joe buffalo You bring up some good points, and you're right that racism for the last few hundred years was mostly about fooling ourselves into a state where we wouldn't feel bad for exploiting others. But I still stand by racism existing in this day and age, though not how most people think of it. Affirmative action is racist. It takes away the notion that the most qualified person for the job will get it, and instead it casts doubt for everyone that the minority that got the job is actually the most qualified. Even they aren't certain, though they're greatful for the job. Black people being allowed to say the n word without getting into trouble while everyone else does is racist. Racism itself is staring that one race is superior or inferior to another, so the notion that there's some words one race can use that others can't is racist in and of itself. Imagine if white people just started saying to everyone else that fuck is now an off limits word to them. Dumbass is off limits. Can is off limits to everyone but white people. You can see how problematic the notion is, but we're okay with black people doing this. Most democratic policies follow these lines. You can't claim that you're for equality while also claiming that minorities are unable to get jobs for themselves, feed themselves, seek medical treatment, or make any sort of major decision without help from the government. There's people out there that claim requiring an ID from voters is racist because black people don't know how to get a damn state ID. Please tell me you can see the racism inherent in this thought process.
@joe buffalo Yeah you've got it all pretty accurate. I don't care what the color of someone's skin is I just care that they cover their share instead of leeching off of others. The government shouldn't be involved in personal matters like this. Back in the day, we had a stronger sense of community. It used to be you could keep your doors unlocked without issue, and the reason for that was because the community was actually one unit. If someone in the community needed help, we rallied together and got them their help. We helped to find jobs, we helped to cover emergency expenses, we helped each other period. Any sense of community we have now is non-existant compared to what we used to have. That's the society I want us to have again. I want us to be a united people that helped each other out and took care of our own. Imthe government overreach has stopped that notion and our society has suffered because of it. As for the different starting places in life, I don't think that matters much. That's just how nature is. A lion could kill a human easily, but we aren't demanding that they get nerfed are we? What allowed us to beat them was the fact that we worked for our whole life to make progress, then we hit save and taught that info to our kids. Then they kept building on that info and taught it to their kids. And so it kept going until we could kill the lions easily. It's a strained analogy but you see my point. It's like that with our finances too. Everyone has started from zero, had to build something up, and then left something behind for their kids so they could start higher up. Black people have done this too. It's what's natural because we want to help our kids succeed. There shouldn't be a penalty for this.
No that's just what closet racists say to justify using that word lmao.. A hillbilly giving himself another definition of a racial slur doesn't mean it's right at all lolol.

The feelings of anger or resentment that some white people may express toward the success of people of color can be rooted in a variety of social, economic, and psychological factors. Here are a few possible explanations: Threat to Identity and Status: For some individuals, the success of people of color can be perceived as a threat to their own social status and identity. If society is shifting toward greater equity, some may feel that their own advantages are being challenged or diminished. Cultural Narratives: Stereotypes and cultural narratives often shape perceptions about race and success. When people of color achieve success, it can contradict deeply ingrained stereotypes about their capabilities. This dissonance can lead to anger or feelings of betrayal among those who hold such stereotypes. Resource Competition: In a society where resources (jobs, wealth, opportunities) are seen as limited, the success of one group can be viewed as a direct competition for those resources. Some individuals might feel that if people of color are succeeding, it takes away from their own opportunities. Envy and Resentment: Personal feelings of inadequacy or frustration in one’s own life can lead to resentment toward those who seem to be overcoming obstacles and achieving success. This can manifest as animosity toward successful individuals of color. Socialization and Environment: People's attitudes are often shaped by their environment and social circles. Those who grow up in racially homogenous communities or who are exposed to racist ideologies may harbor biases that inform their reactions to the success of people of color. Misunderstanding of Systemic Inequities: Some individuals may not fully understand the systemic barriers that people of color have to overcome to achieve success. This lack of understanding can lead to blaming individuals for their circumstances rather than recognizing broader social and structural issues. While not all white people exhibit these behaviors or feelings, these dynamics can contribute to the difficult and often painful interactions surrounding race and success in society. Addressing these underlying issues requires open dialogue

I recently stumbled onto Adam Calhoun, his commentary and this song. I have to say, as the father of three young men, and a veteran who wants to see all Americans do well, it brings me joy and a little bit of hope to see how his message is being rcvd by many. My 22 years of service proved to me that people from all backgrounds, really just want a chance to be the best version of themselves that they can be. So if we can just do our best to avoid generalizations and stereotypes and give every person we come into contact with respect and a chance to demonstrate their own virtue I think we can build better relationships, better communities and a better country. Strive for unity and agreement, but where we can't agree, lets do so in an agreeable fashion.

@UCTHTgWqus2Hna4mtaKP5OmQ Just like by claiming that confederate flag in your background can only be waved by a white person🤔? Before I explain my point I do want to say that I am not speaking on you pertaining to what I just said Im just using it as an example. Anyway my point is this, the word Nigga is derived from the word Nigger. I could go into detail about the difference between the two but I will summarize by saying Nigga is used in black culture as a "fuck you"to the white man for using the term Nigger the same goes for Krakka. Some of my ppl not all but most consider it disrespectful for the white man to say Nigga for many reasons but ill only give you the keys for 2. The First being pronunciation. No disrespect but here in the South where the kuntry accent is very thick this one word could easily be misheard and pronounced with the er instead of the a so it is an unspoken rule to not say it unless you have a "black pass" (black friends who allow you to do so.) The second reason would be pertaining to that flag you have in your background. Just to probe my point thats like if black people were to start representing the confederate flag (no seriously) even though we know that it stands for the states that wanted to KEEP slavery during the civil war. That statement alone should open your eyes a bit because I myself have NEVER seen my fellow black man associate with the comfederate flag PERIOD howerver I myself personally have white friends who I ALLOW to call me "my nigga" and use the word even though he has that ultra thick kuntry accent. My entire point is this sir, some of us feel the use of that word is exclusive strictly because of the way it was used in the past and to see the same race trying to use the alternative word that was originally meant as a "fuck you" to us is now being used as a "fuck you" to yall is quite triggering to be honest and as a Black man myself I understand but at the same time Im not triggered like the rest of my brethren are. Once I again I mean no disrespect but just wanted to bring some information to the table after I read your comment then saw your profile picture.
I gotta say Im surprised at the comments, I was expecting people to lose their minds that he was sayin nigga. Personally I don't say but I understand the point he was making seeing from a black mans perspective. I wish more people could understand what's going on the world and come together like in this comment thread. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." -MLK
mr. attack helicopter So true. I think my comment was more intended to point out what core values he represented (using familiar terms) vs. what blacks are currently supporting today, which is slavery. Despite what people try to make you believe, there was no flip in party when it came to support for slavery and racism. It has always been the Democratic Party. They only changed the means under which they intend to subjugate: physical to financial dependency. I think many blacks tend to forget, ignore, or are unaware of the fact MLK was a Republican.
I think maybe you need to have a little talk with Congressman John Robert Lewis, who marched beside Dr. King. Trying to use his name to promote the GOP is gross.
I've been in this world for 50... born in, and spent the first 10 of my life in Mississippi, the next 23 in Illinois (in and around Chitown/Rockford), last 16 in Louisville. I've seen all the faces of bigotry and racism, (it knows no color) but I was also seeing the wounds healing, until "sketchy" politicians decided to use them as political tools. Pitting us against ourselves to distract, to garner votes and as a reason to deprive us of what little freedoms we still have. King was right, the color of your skin is irrelevant, it's the content of your character that makes you who you are, and it is that character that people perceive and judge you by.
I live in Mississippi and honestly, atleast in Jones County, racism is pretty much gone. We dont worry about words race or politics and we all can get down to some racist jokes like white poeple hurting themselves and black people loving fried chicken.

I'm against racism, but the N word is something I never saw as something racist, so if it is, I'll stop saying it, but it would be better if everybody, including the black people will stop saying it! ;)
Sorry if some sentences are wrong, I'm from the Netherlands so English isn't my main language.

@@fathergascoigne6104 Why is that a problem?? I'm a white dude and I say it to all my friends(regardess if their black or white). If ur saying it as an insult then i would agree with u. He's not using it that way tho, he's using it as if he was one. Also, he's not the first white rapper to say it. I can name a very famous white person that used it as an insult back in the 90s and nobody even cared.
If you are using words to offend then words can be offensive by this sentences logic
Also, the n word was used to put down black people for hundreds of years.

@joe buffalo nahh, you want to see actual racism, just pick a Democrat odds are better than 90% that you'll get a racist.
Those lines about the difference between niggas and black folks is massive facts. I've been saying that for atleast 10 years

The feelings of anger or resentment that some white people may express toward the success of people of color can be rooted in a variety of social, economic, and psychological factors. Here are a few possible explanations:
Threat to Identity and Status: For some individuals, the success of people of color can be perceived as a threat to their own social status and identity.
The realist lyrics I’ve heard in a while...PERFECT!!!
It's good to be able to "SPEAK YOUR TRUTH" and find out you are not alone.

No disrespect but here in the South where the kuntry accent is very thick this one word could easily be misheard and pronounced with the er instead of the a so it is an unspoken rule to not say it unless you have a "black pass" (black friends who allow you to do so.)
The second reason would be pertaining to that flag you have in your background.
This is how we unify everybody. Stuff literally made me cry. I just want everybody to be honest with each other and then embrace each other.
We all bleed red. All part of one race. The human race.

I wish more people could understand what's going on the world and come together like in this comment thread. I am a republican and whenever I debate with someone on the left I get called a racist just for stating some facts about crime rates and hard truths. but people will tell me "you're Mexican you shouldn't think that way" they don't understand they're literally being racist. You’re probably considered racist because for some reason whenever a republican “debates” with a black person they always bring up crime rates as if that has fuck all to do with the individual person.
Jose, I'm going to mention that a lot of young and middle aged adults of all human ethnicities are FED UP AND SEE RIGHT THROUGH the PC and WOKE B.S. that's been infecting the western hemisphere for at least 10 years or so...Yes in every society in the world there is inequality, racism, incompetent leaders etc,etc I don't see how innocent young adults all over the world are being blamed for issues they can't control so on and so forth...The Elites sorely need to develop new strategies....

mr. attack helicopter So true. I think my comment was more intended to point out what core values he represented (using familiar terms) vs. what blacks are currently supporting today, which is slavery. Despite what people try to make you believe, there was no flip in party when it came to support for slavery and racism. It has always been the Democratic Party.
