Dusty...grew up with song...love it, brings back good memories...unique voice! Elvis....just blows your mind....he sings and your in his world! He tells a story and you believe him!!!
I Love this Song and for a Long Time it was my favourite from TTWII . Sometimes my preferences changed from Time to Time but this Song and especially Elvis Version of it is under my Elvis top 50.
Having read these comments, I can only comment that the world has gone mad. Possibly the greatest female singer against a very good singer well past his best. really no comparison. The song is supposed to be sung slowly!!
I agree that according to these comments, the world has, indeed, gone mad. However, I wouldn't go as far as to say that Dusty Springfield was possibly the greatest female singer, but I definitely enjoy listening to her music and I think she has a fantastic voice. Having said that, I am a big Elvis fan. And I am going to get lambasted for this, but my opinion of this particular live version of his sucks. Dusty's studio version is fantastic. And so is her live version when she was younger. Now, looking at this live version of her's as she had gotten older, was not as good as her previous versions, but was still very, very good and, in my opinion, beat out Elvis. No two ways about it. Dusty owns this song!
Bro you do justice to the music of Elvis and of the man himself, great job! Please compare “reconsider baby” from his Elvis is back album.. I can’t remember the original singer of the song.
Both are great. Look how many records she sold of it and made the song famous. She's also a little older here and past peak performance. I always 2-3 versions of a song can be great.
Here is another live version I hope you'll enjoy. This is Jody Miller singing the version - in Italian, at the San Remo Music Festival - which inspired Dusty Springfield to have English lyrics written so she could record a version (the version she had a BIG hit with): ruclips.net/video/amjpA0d3gPU/видео.html
Another version where Elvis made the original artist, very, very rich via him performing it. Bob Dylan once said "highlight of my life? Elvis releasing one of my songs". That's how much Bob loved Elvis.
Dusty: solid voice, solid perfomance. It was her song. Sorry Dusty, it was! I can't help myself! 😖 How can you resist this guy! This voice, this charisma, this ability to make a song his own. His ability to make me feel it! His ability to make me forget who sang the song before. Like you said: he won already. A few notes and that's it!
I'm felt that her version was too slow so I never listened to it all then Elvis comes on he lights up the stage always makes you feel like you're there with him great ☺👌
@Penderyn Lewsyn I do like Dusty Springfield she had a good voice love Son of a preacher man plus that was my opinion of that song but each to their own I will say this to you there's no need to swear I don't see the point in doing it to me it's bad manners 👎
I think what made Elvis' version was the tempo. Dusty's vocals were solid (per usual), but Elvis had an uncanny knack on how a song was supposed to be performed.
Dusty was the original. Both good but elvis all the way. I believe dusty died of breast cancer .king q. Could u react to mess of blues and good rockin tonight. Please.
The King is the King... BUT from reading all these comments, I see there is a bit of ignorance regarding the derivation of this song, and not so sure a fair comparison can be drawn between these two very different artist, their style, background, and audiences. This song is an early 60’s song. The melody is from an Italian song that took Dusty two years to convince the the writer to sell her the song rights. Once she finally had the song rights, her team headed by Vicki Wickham had only one day to write the lyrics, one day to write the instrumentals, and one day for Dusty and her back up singers to learn it as well as the whole team to put it together. It was to be performed in front of the largest national British concert of the year. This original version is different and shows a much younger Dusty and her team in a bit of an awkward but outstanding first performance of this immediate international hit. Interesting how you can see Dusty looking over to her back up singers as their clue to bring in the chorus. It was an instant hit first released in 1965 ruclips.net/video/YmoIywxxFFA/видео.html So... not really fair comparing the one 70’s performance from Dusty that was not her best to the King at a time when the King was at his hight. Kind of flippant to so easily disrespect Dusty with the comments of this reaction and the viewers’ comments that have very little knowledge of Dusty and her legacy as the top British pop star and vocalist of the 1960s. Just saying...
Yeah, I gotta with Elvis Presley on this one man. Nothing against the original artist. She did great, no doubt! I You all saw that where she was trying to engage with the audience and that guy pulled her away. Vintage man, you come up with cool videos is all I'm trying to say! ❤.
Elvis changed the tempo, but also the timing of the rhythm. Anyways, Q...When's the "You Just Got Elvis'd" merch comin' out? Hell, it's better than any the shit EPE puts out. PEACE!
Just a few seconds in the lady lost this one, lol Elvis is the king ,, lol Can’t no one touch him, Every song someone else sung, Elvis sang it better, 😀
Dusty's voice is nice. She definitely knows how to sing. However, Elvis' take on this song just has more snap and dynamics to it, and comes across less forced than Dusty's rendition.
The womans version is ok but Sounds to me more of an endig of a TV Gala or something. Elvis Version is more pure energetic and the Instruments Are better arranged and mixed.
Elvis never did a good live version of this song, in fact this is the best version. There is a lack of emotion, almost a throwaway. So springfield wins this 100% although elvis is the better singer.
I'm felt that her version was too slow so I never listened to it all then Elvis comes on he lights up the stage always makes you feel like you're there with him great ☺👌
The king
Elvis always 💘
Oh .... my boy my boy
Both amazing singers and entertainers
Love my Elvis! ♥♥
love Dusty Springfield voice and this song...But Elvis performance is outstanding. .. levels.
Dusty...grew up with song...love it, brings back good memories...unique voice! Elvis....just blows your mind....he sings and your in his world! He tells a story and you believe him!!!
Elvis was so unique his ability to make you feel the song was truly amazing. Love Elvis!!!
VINGH...E is the best baby !
Fantastic! You make me grin. I love your wording. Lol.
Elvis my friend once again he is on the top!
Elvis! No question (and I like her version). Good thing she recorded it first or no one ever would have listened.
“She got Elvised!” Couldn’t have said it better.:)
I Love this Song and for a Long Time it was my favourite from TTWII . Sometimes my preferences changed from Time to Time but this Song and especially Elvis Version of it is under my Elvis top 50.
The King, hands down (and I love Dusty's version).
“He won already” ... haha
Ohhhhhhh Elvis 💕😍 sexy and beutiful man the most beautiful voice 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏✌️🎶🎤👑🕺
You, sir, have made your own catchphrase...."there is levels to this sh1t"...I did it with you 🤣
I always liked Dusty, may she also rest in peace, but again Elvis brings to a whole new level as you say. Good stuff.
In her younger days Dusty was a huge Tamla Motown fan.
Their live performances are very good, but each of their studio recordings of this song are even better.
I agree with Mike. Both of their studio versions were better.
I think both were great, but I agree with you, Elvis owned it once more.
Merry Christmas, Q
Dusty was great! You can not deny the Elvis mojo he brings to a song! Happy New Year Bro! Keep up the great work! Peace

Dusty's voice was good but for some reason I was bored, I wanted to end the song. For the Elvis's version I agree with what you have said
Bro you do justice to the music of Elvis and of the man himself, great job!
Please compare “reconsider baby” from his Elvis is back album.. I can’t remember the original singer of the song.
That was dustys song but when Elvis sings it goodnight dusty
ELVIS 👑⚡️the winner always the only winner
watch the video when she recorded it....this is toward the end of her life. you have to hear her original version.
ELVIS ELVIS ELVIS LoL
hell yeah!!!!!
👍
Z
Still wanna see your reaction to the original Hurt by Roy Hamilton, who Elvis loved!
Both are great. Look how many records she sold of it and made the song famous. She's also a little older here and past peak performance. I always 2-3 versions of a song can be great.

That was funny her few words I said she lost already, Elvis first few words you said he won already ,, 😀

First I thought uh oh she's really good so it'll be hard but then Elvis came on and his voice brought me back to my senses. Elvis definitely won

Dusty too theatrical with the arms. Not a lot of soul.
Elvis again for me. He knew how to sing a song.
Yeah, I gotta with Elvis Presley on this one man.

Elvis pummeled her live but Dusty's studio version sounded better.
Sometimes the original is the best.
Dusty's voice is nice. She definitely knows how to sing. However, Elvis' take on this song just has more snap and dynamics to it, and comes across less forced than Dusty's rendition.
I'm sorry dusty , but Elvis owned this song .As usual Elvis the winner . can you comparing Never been in spain . I know you like this one .
The womans version is ok but Sounds to me more of an endig of a TV Gala or something. Elvis Version is more pure energetic and the Instruments Are better arranged and mixed.
Dusty is a British legend. Her voice is right up there with Aretha and Whitney for me. This wasn't her best performance or vocal.
The dusty one was good, but there's levels to this shit and Elvis Presley is so much better than dusty it's not even a contest.
Elvis never did a good live version of this song, in fact this is the best version. There is a lack of emotion, almost a throwaway. So springfield wins this 100% although elvis is the better singer.
