- In this video, Nick runs through different metal lip lures, their styles, and their uses. He focuses on the 3 distinctive wooden metal-lip swimmer styles: surface swimmers, subsurface swimmers, and deep swimmers (otherwise known as trollers). All of these types are similar in that they are made of buoyant wood, and a bent metal lip affixed to the nose of the plug.

Nice! Appreciate you sharing my friend!
Thank you! Cheers!
Bobby makes beautiful plugs
Awesome 👍
Thanks for the visit!
is there a specific metal lip I should invest in if I best want to target the middle of the water column from ledges; I know you can tune them etc.. thanks for any advice
Spoke with our guys and they recommend looking for a metal lip that has a sloped head. The sloped head will allow it to dive more. We do not have too many in stock, at the moment, but keep an eye on our Instagram. We have a nice order of Back Bay plugs coming to the shop soon. In the meantime, we have 1 color left for Gibbs metal lips w/ a sloped head: fishermenssource.com/products/gibbs-lures-danny-deep-diver?_pos=5&_psq=gibbs&_ss=e&_v=1.0
@@Fishermenssource Really appreciate the reply, mostly a chunker, trying mix it up more.. ill make sure to order from you're website.. tight lines.
Bro, you covered the styles but you said nothing about the when to fish them.
The metal lips that have flat lips, you can fish in shallower waters. The metal lips that have sloped lips, you can fish in deeper water. All season!
When is, in rough conditions, in the wash, strong currents, slow currents, at night, in the middle of the day, sweeping currents.....etc..etc..etc..
