Glad it helped. Moto season is coming for me and I’ll be driving around Colorado Springs. Garden of the gods and more. Going to try a different set up this summer.
Good advice on the media mod. 2 Black rings or won't work. I have DJI wireless mikes, and it comes with the 2 black rings and a couple of dead cats. I feel that my audio has improved with these mikes.
Good info, thanks. I use the GoPro H8 with no external mic. What I did was since the GoPro has three mics I covered the front mics with scotch tape and left the one on the left side open with a dead cat. I also put a wind cutter foam, I ride a HD Limited with a fairing that also helps with cutting down the wind. Mind you even though I covered the other mics they still pick up muffled audio but you can't tell. So when I'm talking to the camera I move just a bit close so that open mic picks up my voice and engine sound but when the camera is facing me it picks up my voice combine with engine sound and you can hear me just fine.
Thank you for this video! It was a lifesaver for this new GoPro user climbing the learning curve of making decent-quality videos at home. You quickly helped me turn "WTF?!?" into "Ah ha!" Thank you!
Great video Bro..... I am having the same issue with the GoPro9, Media Mod and the Rode wireless II mics.... My 3.5 connection has 2 bands on both sides. So my issue might be something else because it does work sometimes...... I'll keep searching for solutions... But let's talk about all of my childhood arcade games in the background! I had to sub!!!!!!!! That is my dream...... have a basement (or space) where I can have an old school arcade and my other stuff (Im a gun-tuber).... Ride safe brother.... Great content.
That was sort of my dream too to have a bunch of my old arcades that I loved as a kid. I collected them over the years and played them a lot at first. Now they sort of sit there as decoration. Ha ha ha.
I have the same problem as you and I think it's the MediaMod P2 input. I think the input springs are a little soft, which causes poor contact. I already spent a LOT on microphones and another media mod, now I'm going back to the old adapter.
Easy fix. I have the the 2 ring mic in my helmet already. Problem I have is, I start my M/C vlogg, works great. When I turn off, coffee break or something, start recording again the external helmet mic fails to work and the camera goes to the the media mod mic, which is basically wind noise. I have tried everything known to man but this problem continues. Never a problem with my trusty 8........This is not a problem consigned to myself, it is widespread.
great video! they really need to redesign the media mod. lol i found another video where they fixed the battery changing issue. some guy makes an aluminum attachment that connects to the bottom of the media mod. so you can easily take out the gopro to replace the battery. company name is little-enterprises and the product fix is called the "Finger Mount for GoPro Media Mod"
we don't need to select Line in option in gopro settings? i hav noticed selecting LineIn option gives audio that has kind of noice cancellation. which one gives the best audio?
Great Sean. The problem is, I have been using a three ringed plug for some time and it does work BUT, not all the time. I've been chasing this issue for ages and I come back from a fly in my plane and most times it's ok but there have been several instances when the connector has become noisy and stops working altogether. Intermittent faults are the worst but it looks like you've hit on my problem. I'll change the cable for a two ringed plug and hope to come back from a flight with all the audio. Thanks.
Why did it not work for me? I'm using a purple panda mic and a gopro hero 10. I tried the adapter the mic came with and the one you have linked on amazon and they both didnt work. Any idea why?
thanks mate you are a real life saver.... this is just the solution i was looking for... i thought my mideo mod or mic was not working and i had to replace them.... by you my friend helped me a lot through this.... thanxxx a lot!!! i will definitely subscribe your channel.
I am stoked it helped. I couldn’t find anything on it so added it in the mix of content. Hope you enjoy the mixed adventure content made mostly with action cams.
Hello mate! I m also looking for a good setup for motovlogging.. actually I have a microphone that works. But it only work in one headphone (left one).. it have 2 straips.. so it work.. but not in stereo mode.. If you can help me.. Thank u a lot, cheers from Portugal!

I’m having issues with switching my media mod input to my external mic. When I go to setting then the audio input/output it says media mod and it’s greyed out I can’t switch it to anything else anymore. Wasn’t a problem before but started about a year ago
@@SeanOzz hi again, It worked until I went out on my bike and when got i back from my ride and downloaded the footage guess what, no sound😵💫 Not sure what’s going on..
@@SeanOzz it was same issue ..😁. The service team even didn't have clue about this... They suggested to update the GoPro manually... Check with another media mod... And at last to courier the GoPro to their centre.....ur video saved me from all these things... 👍
I'm using a GoPro Hero 10 with Media Mod but why is it that when I play the video using a headset the sound only comes out from one side? how to fix it?
HOLY F**** someone that FINALLY has the solution! Thanks brother. I ordered two. For the love of Pete I hope this works. I'm about to throw my G9 across the room.
@@SeanOzz yep, I had a 3-line mic plug. the new 2-line mic plug was the fix. Thanks brother for saving my sanity...well...there is more hope for my sanity now at least.
Argh, I bought Rode's Lavalier mic, three bands, didn't work, bought their own adapter with the two bands, not working either :x I've contacted customer services, apparently there are still some issues.
@@SeanOzz actualy my hero 9 with adapter and mic works pretty well in the 1st year of usage. then it went sucks after 1year, my recent "1st yr of usage" settings is same as today. i really dont know what to do with this hero 9. im planning to sell it and buy DJI if this issue not fix.
@@SeanOzz so no the GoPro hero 11 black can record in stereo, and the media mod 3.5 mm TRS jack does too. Should have left and right but I was only getting left sound. I think my mic is f’ed up. I was able to fix it by transcoding my video and adding a second mono channel to make it basically stereo. I should have been more clear by saying the mic is only recording left side sound

Hope it fixes your issue
Been a minute since I seen someone with guyliner. Good video brother 👍🏽
Girlfriend loves it so in occasion she gets it 😜😂
What do you do if the microphone is peaking out? Are there adjustable settings for that, or do you need a different mic?
In settings there are some tweets you can do if I recall.

At 2:56 your sound is only coming through to one channel. Do you have a fix for that?
best bet is to get a stereo mic right off the bat.

When you plug your lavaliere mic in it should auto switch
Why do they not say it anywhere, that we need this adapter??? Took me ages to find your video
Because some Mics don’t need it.

my media mod is capturing distort audio more than the main audio
