If many there are calcificates and SVC trombosis and some other vessels are pushed by the fibrosis, bronchies obstruction , is there any medication threatment to shrink it if there is fungi causing it for example, or only surgery high risked? I read that there is study at mayo cliinic to reverse fibrosis will be finished at august, it was some dopamine D1 receptor based study, is there a way to cure this
How fast does the scarring grow and progress in the lung. Will it keep growing or does it ever stop? I have the disease and I’ve been diagnosed since 06/2021
It is hard to predict. Some cases don't really progress significantly, others do progress, but usually slowly. Most patients get follow up imaging (chest CT with contrast) 6 months after diagnosis to see if there has been change.
@@ThoracicRadiology Oh ok. Back in June, my mass was 3.2 cm, and I got another ct scan in Oct and it grew to be 5.6 cm and that was within months. Do you think that’s significant within the timeframe? I’m not sure if it’s grown much since then but I’m due for another scan in March. I’m asking because I’m nervous because where the scarring is located and how’s it affecting my every day life. What happens if it growth keeps getting bigger?
