I love the flat "didn't help him much" line
It has a real meme and sales promotion potential. Sir Tod, for your attention, shirts and hoodies.
So funny.
Also "a gentleman's tool"@@romgl4513
These things just come out - but yes it was DEAD flat
I generally don't like ads, but I always make an exception for Tod.
"Ho, ho, holy bananas that stiletto is vicious!" - Chris Kringle, shopping for some "special" good children.
Not clickbait, it was a good advert.
Thanks, and I felt the need to warn people it was an advert
If literally anyone else said "advert - but it's good" I'd laugh and move on. But I know Todd is always good for it :)
If only all ads in the world were as enjoyable as this ...
Prices Slashed! Prices Stabbed! Prices Crushed! 👏👏👏👏
Why weren't you here when I was thinking of how to word it!
😄😄😄👍 There is always next year's sale.@@tods_workshop
Best advert ever!
Loved how you cared more about your crafts than your clothes
The man is a real renaissance man and has his style.
They have been with me a long time and I care about them very much
Tod makes great stuff folks. I have several pieces on my living room wall. I have the more affordable stuff and the expensive pieces. No regrets for any of them. They are all very impressive and well made. You won't be dissatisfied with the quality of any of them. If you have been dreaming about a really nice weapon, this is the time to save big.
Thanks
Just saw this! Usually I try to skip YT ads, but I gladly bought something because of this! I can’t wait to get my rondel dagger. Thanks Tod!
Hope you enjoy it!
Only commercial I've ever watched willingly and with enthusiastic consent.
Great video as always ❤
Camp work with my bollock dagger? Very bold!
Finally bought the knives I've been wanting for while - I look forward to using them in the kitchen!
Nice. Impressed by all the pieces.
Tod is the only person who could actually make me click on an 8 minute long video blatantly titled "advert."
I loved every minute of this video, and always enjoy seeing Tod’s handiwork.
The only advert you want to see voluntarily :)
If I had enough money, I'd build a Throne of Tod Cutler Knives.
I didn't know the 25% off sale would change to 15% off after only a day. That was a bit of a nasty shock when I went to check out.
Tod's Workshop where even the advert is educational and entertaining, although sans napkin
Best advert I've seen in ages
500 years later I'm still giggling
I've always considered myself immune to ads. Not this time, not this time...
"Alcohol-free laager. Fails on two counts."
Priceless.
I involuntarily winced as Tod said, "Soft bits!"
the stiletto looks really nice... very tempted
The stiletto really is quite an unassuming, but nasty little thing. Beautiful.
1:38 That would bring tears to a glass eye! Yes, I have been on the site and yes I am tempted.
I guess I have no more excuses, won't have a better chance than this to get some gear. My brother is a fan of all things viking so I'm considering getting him a seax. Thanks Tod!
Best advert i ever seen!
If I didn't live in Ireland I'd absolutely pick up a few pieces
Hi Tod. Ordered one of your many goodies yesterday. Love your products and videos.
Best advert ever! However, if people are to recreate your scenarios in the backyard, you may want to start including shovels!!
There's something special about being served an advert for something you care about and just gets on with telling you about the product
I was interested and engaged the whole time, and even clicked through despite knowing I'm not in the UK and don't have the money
Thank you and glad my intention came through. Basically I am a rubbish salesman, so I need to let the stuff sell itself (with a. little push)
Best Advert ever
Cool stuff. Thank you for the display and exposition.
Aside from the nagal (not certain how the German "nail" is spelled) the similarities between your "long rugger" and a much later "Khyber knife" are stark! I have had the pleasure to own one for a time, and to hold three others, and your long rugger would fit somewhere in the middle of the 19'th century examples I've seen! Convergent evolution is a remarkable thing.
Yes that long rugger I made and is the Tods Workshop site is a historical copy, but would fit right in in 19thC Afghanistan
Indeed a great ad. And a fun video to watch.
I can't wait to own & fight with a Tod Cutler product! I missed the sales as it takes me a while to save. That'll be forgotten the second I see my stuff arrived 😂
The internet has corrupted me and I winced when he used a bollock dagger to cut a thick eggplant at 5:05.
Adverts of stuff the channel itself makes are fine. It is stuff that there is a high probably that your viewers are genuinely interested in, it is not an advertisement that people are oversaturated in through obnoxious RUclips ads, and it is directly related to the channel and video subject matter.
I am probably set on low-end stuff that the sale applies to for the time being (I already have a knife and dagger from you). Maybe something custom once my financial concerns of being a student are passed, though!
I've just ordered one of your Dragon War Hammers after eyeing them up for the better part of a year! Very much looking forward to recieving it! :D
Thank you , Tod .
Probably the best advert I has ever seen .
🐺Loupis Canis .
Tod has the best ads. I'd watch ads on RUclips if Tod made them
Old Speckled Hen... a man of taste!
Beer of choice, with the odd Shipyard thrown in
I purchased a seax a few months ago, easily the best quality for the money that I've found. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again.
Thank you
Interesting that Black Friday sales have made their way to the UK. Thanks, internet!
Though I suppose the U.S. has Boxing Day sales, we just don't call them that, opting instead for the much more awkward but less Imperial "after-Christmas sale" moniker.
Global world.....
wish all ads were this good
Not sure if you can Geo-Loc your web shop pages, but if you have potential customers in Texas just add 'Truck' as a prefix. E.g. Truck Stiletto, Truck Rondel Dagger, Truck Warhammer. I gifted my pal an antique kukri and he carries it in his Silverado.
More adverts like this.
Just picked up a 13thC Quillon Dagger from Tod Cutlery. Thanks mate!
Those rondels are SCARY dude...
Yes they are
I can see the bones breaking in my mind when you hit the maces into that Dummy. If it were a real guy, well, you get the picture, right? And these Daggers do their job like they have to. Oh, the pain.
Awesome Work
If anyone is considering it I can not endorse these enough! Seriously go get one! I got the Mary Rose Bollock Dagger, the quality is great and it makes me laugh every time I show it to someone.
sorry i missed getting to TORM... I had staff letting me down issues, hope to see you in March
I agree about the not beer. Nice advertisement.
3:51 yes, it is.
Well, you've convinced me, Tod. I can't wait to see that 14thC quillion dagger when it shows up
I have a particular fondness for disk Mace's.
Great stuff!
Power - Lat beats anterior delt. Tricep beats Bicep.
Saw the stand at the reenactors show this weekend, hope it was a good show. I had 48 hours notice but had a successful show myself, flogging glasswares from Roman to Georgian. Hop to see you in March.😊
Love it.
It would be amazing if you could make a video comparing the performance of the overhand and underhand dagger, pros and cons. It would be interesting to see how they affect the style of combat.
Very nice.
Imagine being stabbed by a 15” long rondel.
Also, imagine being the guy who plunged a 15” blade into another human being…
I'm not even your target group, but I enjoyed this advert a lot! 🙂
Thanks and pleased you did
@@tods_workshop 🙂
Good. Thanks.
Heading over to look at what you have for sale Tom!!
That stiletto looks so delicate. Don't be fooled.
I saw one in the Stibbert that could not have had a blade more than 4mm wide
@@tods_workshop No mail that I have seen would stop that.
That starting scared me :0
Cooking with Tod.
Tenderize
Make holes for seasoning
Cut in small pieces
(Cook)
Eat responsibly.
Fight over last piece.
Nice add, nice video, nice products 👍👍 Even with a knife collection permit in hand, I am not allowed to own several if those items in Denmark...... restrictive legislation sucks.
Had been eyeing the quillon dagger for some time. Giluess that's my sign to go and pick it up.
If you'd see this I was curious if you have any thoughts of releasing a budget version of a Swiss Degen for a future Tod Cutler sword run?
Watch this space
@@tods_workshop for as long as I have eyes, sir.
So moments after "upgrading" to RUclips Premium, here I am watching an "Ad".
And thank you!
It's a great ad!@@tods_workshop
Jaaa! Smash that alcohol free "thing"
:D
Never buying any knives that werent put together by Egyptian orphans but i like looking at these
Good sir, my king demands to have a new batch of the "knights clubbing" hoodies, i´m here to bring the message that you should provide said item within reasonable time. Farewell
Great video, always enjoy them 👍
Thx
maces and flails were first invented long before there is plate armour
...and widely used long after!
They generally seem to be of steppe origin, or at least very popular there, where lamellars and scales were common though.
Hard to say if anyone really intended them to be "anti-armour" especially when many of them are absolutely tiny, and not that heavy hitting as a result, but they certainly coexisted with plenty of rigid armour. Lots of mail later, too. Which could be pretty rigid as well.
@@lscibor They probably precede armor. They were likely beefed up in response to armor as, whereas armor shuts down swords since they operate by sharp edges and points rather than energy, maces operate by energy and are thus shut down a lot less by armor so long as they have sufficient mass and inertia.
What's put me off the bushcraft line of knives is the description for the steel. Mild carbon/mid carbon steel. That says to me unhardenable steel and thus completely useless. You might want to consider if that's true or not.
Sorry I have to take issue with you here. The description is of medium carbon steel which conventionally goes up to 0.7%, which was the standard for generations for swords and knives and I still use it and it still makes damn fine knives , but yes harder and tougher steels are out there, but certainly not completely useless
@@tods_workshopFirst I clicked on said mild carbon steel.
No other info, others said medium carbon steel.
Is it my.fault or yours that I took this to mean you're using mild steel?
if hidden mail is called a secret, then Victoria's Secret has a whole new meaning when it comes to women's clothing.
500 years ago it certainly would
Ok, I’m done . No more chain mail at dinner parties. 😁 Love the advert.
Brigandine it is then
@@Specter_1125 many silk layers. Sort of like a modern stab vest. A lot more comfortable too.
I would go for a brig and a very sharp knife will not have a problem with silk
Awesome😎👍🏻
Love the workmanship but I would go bankrupt at the cost (good thing I make most of my own stuff) 😜
The idea that medieval people acted in such a disrespectful maner in relationship to food is downright bizarre. Providing that food would have required a lot of hard manual labor back in those days and even if you as a nobleman or other "posh" dude might not have to do the hard work yourself. No one of that period would've been nearly as ignorant of "how the sausage gets made" as we often are in the modern world.
Makes for a great film/TV meme though
reason I asked is in the early episodes of season 3 of the Witcher Ciri has a sword on her back and has a Rondel dagger on her right hip suspended on two chains going to a single point on her belt and it's hanging perfectly level I wondered if the balance would need tweaking or not apparently not 👍
I actually can't remember. I made the piece but a couple of years ago now
this ad was sponsored by Tod's workshop, go check them out!
did Landsknecht carry Bauernwehr and Baselard daggers ? ... thanks , Mike
Ordered !
Best BF add. Ever :D
Ah we are back with more gopro abuse. Let's go bebeh
Broke the mount on the fist strike otherwise there would have been more - camera lived though
great, right after i ordered a dagger :(
Great opportunity! Time to get me a long longed for stiletto :D
I look at mine and all I can think is "How did he do this?"
Thanks so much for this video work, Tod. I've been watching for a while now, and I am still trying to decide on a retirement gift for myself from your workshop. It's such a tough decision. (:
Keep working on it and thanks
Would it be possible to get one of the "bauernwehr with byknives" but one of the knives being a sticker instead? Like from the eating sets.
