I am also an estate agent! It really inspires me how Sharum sketched the true reality of real estate day to day matters. One person calls the other and that other person calls the next other to arrange the visit of client. On top of that clients don't treat estate agents with due respect and gratitude. So many of them use real estate agents to find the right property but later ditch us and contact the owners and sellers directly to avoid paying commission. Sharum can see through you and feel through you and that makes him an outlier and special.

Why do real estate agents ask for commission from tenants only ? And not from landlords as well. I mean they are setting up their property on rent as well. The issue is all of the burden (Shifting Expense, fixtures, 6+1 security deposit and agent's commission is too much one side) your commission should be borne half by tenant and other half by landlord.
