Hey does that mean the RE90 is always on full throttle if you pull the trigger or is there also another (non-thumb wheel) way to regulate the power? Would be a little too overkill imo if you're in the city and want to take things just a bit easier but all you can do is blast the death-lever or better leave it if you know ^^' I'm super interested in buying one of them but if there would be no way to get a bit of an acceleration curve on the RE90 I'd prefer the Thrust by far! Can't wait for a 0-60 test between these two; the outcomes might as well affect my decision. Anyway I'm so super hyped.
They are both excellent machines for sure, and we hope to do some comparisons between the two in the near future. You would have to go with the thrust for the better acceleration curve, I think it's also better in cities. More vids in the works.
This thing is just sick! My fastest run with any scooter was 100km/h and it was not funny:) i have so much respect for people like you and one other thing ALIEN RIDES need a kind of oscar for that awesome channel. Greetz from germany again #ridesave #stayhealthy #scooterridingagainstcovid19
80mph? I'm in NYC and I don't think I've ever gone faster than 70mph driving a car......80mph on a scooter omg the skill level needed for that...🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Thanks for the video. Been planning on buying a DT Storm for several months, now. Just today, on my ride home from work, I was thinking that for a little more money, I could buy the *BEST* (RION).. Much to my surprise this video was available. Not so SURE, now. I like the idea of water-cooled controllers, but maybe would rather go w/the tried-and-proven, @ this price point. The time element isn’t an issue, since it’s winter. Lots to think about. The throttle is bomb
The Dualtron Storm looks like a nice scooter and I would like to review it some day, but I'm a bit biased towards Rion these days. Superior quality and engineering, better handling and speeds. Less LEDs though 😅 Good luck with your choice!
Thanks for the video! I would have picked the Thrust as well. I will need to test drive that one when I see you next time. I have always wanted a Rion and hopefully one day I can justify getting one. It was cool seeing the other rider in the reflection off your backpack. I may look into that thumb throttle option to add to my Dualtron Compact. I do like the Boosted thumb throttles for longer rides.
Did I hear mention made of a retrofit thumbwheel throttle for Dualtron? Wouldn't the smooth operation also require a controller change or at least a FW update? It would be great to have an option to the overly touchy finger throttles found on most scooters. And yes, brakes with good modulation that don't need constant adjusting (like mechanical disks) would also be most welcome. I hope I heard right and will be keeping an eye on this channel to hear more about this.
My hope is that the acceleration-only throttle will be an easy replacement, for the dynamic e-braking (two-way jog) you would need a controller swap as well. We will definitely be doing some videos and I'll try to install it on my Dualtron.
Great choice @Alien Rides! The Thrust is best for you and our SF ever challenging urban landscape. It offers the smooth riding experience you need, has a longer trottle travel and more robust esc. No everything is about super fast acceleration or top speed, which really doesn't fit very well in our rough streets and chaotic sub-standard traffic environment (and to be honest, crazy speed sounds like a very ridiculous proposition for our city 🙄). What's the use for a top speed super lightning demon scooter that you need to brake at every cross road or a stop sign every 100 yards? Civilized (Thrust), as you mentioned, is the way to go 😉👍. Congrats Bro.
@@AlienRides Yeah, gotta stop by to see your Rion Thrust up close and personal 😉. I don't know why it reminds me of Mad Max's Interceptor police car just by standing still over that picnic table🔥🚀
Awesome scooter. When will you have those thumb throttles available to install at your shop. I live close to San Fran so would like to install those on my Dualtron's
@@AlienRides it'd make sense Rion came with one. Bought a pushbike stand to prop my scooter when travelling but it won't fit the 3in tyres i was using. It might be an accessory riders need but not yet have 🤔🤔😄😄
Man I just watched this video and the emove cruiser one. Loved them. As a boosted rev owner I love that throttle... Hope one day you can compare the Rion Thurst to the Apollo Ludricrous.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the videos. I would love to compare the Rion to some scooters, though it is in a different class compared to the Apollo Ludicrous. Both are really fun though.
@@AlienRides Yeah, you are right. I guess I would still have a hard time using all the power of the Ludicrous anyway, especially as I live in the city center, but no doubt the thurst in on a whole other level...
Kevin: 1. More SPEEED PLEASE and NUMBERS. These things are extraterrestially fast but i just could not see the speed in your vid! No km/h / mp/h and no accelrration test....yet? 2. Zip up your Jacket when riding! 3. So sad I would take RE90 And thanks for the video :) always great to see an Alien Rides video ^^ these scoots look so legit :) Cheers 😍🥰
Speed tests with telemetry will be coming very soon, this was just a quick one-day trip to make a video. You will absolutely love either one of these machines, hope you can try it soon!
Weight capacity would be the same, I'll do some detailed performance testing in the future. Either one is an excellent machine, I'm currently recommending the thrust to people.
Incredible machines both, i'd go for the Thrust. One thing i am wondering though, how is it possible to go even near those speeds without any kind of suspension ? I feel that normally you'd get airborne in the first road bump followed by a very difficult landing, what am i missing here ?
I've hit these speeds a few times now, but only on super smooth roads with no bumps yet, so I couldn't tell you. My guess is that those who experienced it haven't lived to tell the tale.
@@AlienRides Oh man! You've just killed my dream of a Thrust for daily use :-) Of course, i could get it for the sheer pull and just avoid going over 40mph but i'm too old to kid myself :-) It would be a constant battle, sheer lust vs self preservation
I would think this would be a easy one. Now with that said I have not received myRE60 yet... ”hopfully this month” but. I can tell I am not going to love the Throttle control. True story when I bought my Audi R8 2009 The transmission was completely crap unless you were driving it on the track or in the canyons.... I will definitely be upgrading my throttle control once I get my scooter..... simply because I wanna live LOL
The wait is long, but you will love your RE60 when you get it. I'm not sure what throttle that model is shipping with, but try out whatever it comes with, it might be sufficient. Ride safe!
What is the range ? How much time to charge it ? Can it be waterproof ? What the real top speed ? This is the begining of something great but we will have to wait for the price to drop and technology to get better !
Great ride great review Alien Rides! Rion is the best! If you want the very best made and the fastest scooter no other can compare. Well worth the wait to own a Rion designed and hand built by pros in CA.
Thank you for the concern. We've been busy making some improvements to our warehouse and some insane videos are coming soon. Sorry for the silence here!
Real problem in Europe for Rion's a friend ordered one and after almost a YEAR!! of waiting finally got fed up and got refunded from their distributer in France. I want to order one, but soo much waiting puts me off. Even though I am dying to get my hands on one. Hope Rion can fix things for Europe. Wish they had a sellar in Spain.
Yeah, that is a long wait... The Rion RE60 is still a great machine, possibly better power to weight ratio compared to the thrust. Hope you have yours soon, they are ramping up and finishing many orders soon, stay patient, it's worth the wait.
I am still on the fence with the Rion..... I love everything about this scooter except......I hate that’s it’s not water resistant...... So if I get caught in the rain I cannot ride? A fair weather scooter That might be a deal breaker for me. I might just get a STORM because apparently it never rains in California
Yeah, that's a good point about water resistance. Sadly it's raining this week so I can't ride the Rion, totally worth owning one though since it's a blast on sunny days. 👽🖖
How does the RE60s compare to these two? Is it as civilized as the thrust? My order is in on the RE60s but thinking about changing it to the thrust. My scooter background: I just received an Apollo Pro recently to learn on and before that had a 15 mph scooter. I have some motorcycle street and car track experience. What’s your recommendation?
Wow, you're making some big upgrades quickly, that's awesome! I do think you will find the thrust throttle curve much more responsive and gentle than the RE60s even. If you can swing the upgrade, I'd recommend it.
@@AlienRides do you mean the Curve throttle controller or the linear throttle torque curve? I already added the Curve throttle to my RE60s order. Thank you in advance for your expertise.
Couldn’t i just opt out for the Rion Curve thumbwheel throttle for my Rion RE90 for that smoother acceleration ? I was waiting for them to address the throttle issue before i made my purchase. The new rion scooter is cool but i dont wanna lose any top end or range. I need this future toy to be as crazy as possible but i need smoother acceleration for sure as well. I might even find a way to unlock the full 125 or 100 MPH speed limit is how serious i am about keeping every little bit of horsepower this thing has to offer. But i do want to commute without feeling like I’m on a track everytime i hit the accelerator. I’m torn as hell since this release. Need help PLEASE
Both the RE90 and the Thrust will come with the new thumbwheel. While it will help with the control a lot, unfortunately most of the throttle curve is determined by the controllers. The technology just doesn't exist for the RE90 high speeds while having smooth acceleration, yet... Though it's being worked on. Regardless though you would love either one of these scooters, and you could always upgrade them to the latest in the future.
@@AlienRides ah i see. 1. Well if you slam the thumb throttle all the way to the left on the rion thrust, will it at least feel just as uncivilized as the Re90? And to seal the coffin, with the new thruster throttle on the RE90, is daily drivability still compromised ? Like will i still spin the tires under low throttle inputs?
@@304derrick yes, if you slam the throttle of the thrust you will have more than enough acceleration. I think you will also be spinning tires all the time on the re90 at low input, which is fine, but not as comfortable as the trust.
@@AlienRides thank you guys so much. I’ve had so much to ask but sadly RIONS customer care pretty much seizes to exist. You rock man. I’m definitely part of notification gang. Will be waiting in anticipation for your next vids.
I’m trying to chill on questions but I’m so anxious to make a purchase. 2 more questions and ill leave you alone till next Rion upload lol. Do you guys have any word of an updated RE 90 in the works? And does the new throttle for the RE90 at least get rid of that dead space when accelerating? I’m trying to figure out if i should make a decision on what’s already released or maybe wait to see what’s in store, hoping they’d retrofit the RE90 with these upgraded controllers while maintaining its true monstrous nature without compromise.
Great review on both of them .....I definitely want to get either one of them to either ride around my area and possibly use it to go to work instead of using my car ......i got a question , what's the ideal weight a person should be to still be able to achieve the rated top speed limit the re90 or the thrust has or it doesn't matter ? ....I'm asking because I'm 6' 3" 220 pounds
I think you would honestly be fine on either one and they would have more than enough power. My guess is that someone at like 175 lbs would get 2-3mph faster top speed. Just a guess based on what I've seen with other scooters.
@@AlienRides thanks man that's good to know , i just went to there website and seen the rion2 re90 race edition that does 100 mph but limited to 80 mph Good lord that's crazy speed my gas goped doesn't even go that fast and it tops out at 62mph .....i already have a helmet so I just gotta buy protective gear and place a order for it I most likely will get the race edition cause it's pretty much the same price as the thrust from what I seen
Great new content! That "curve" throttle looks much more comfortable than the Dualtron throttle. Is the installation plug n play or more complicated on a Dualtron 3?
Thanks! The Curve throttle is definitely my favorite throttle on the market right now. I think they're still finalizing Dualtron installation, and we'll be making a video when it's ready, so I'd say hold off for now.

Probably ideal for California "dry" climate. I would like to see how long it last in the Pacific North West "wet" climate.
Yeah, definitely don't want to ride this when it's wet outside. I would still own one even if I could only ride it one day a year.
I definitely want a Rion in the near future as part of my PEV squad =) Water cooled?! Thanks for the dope video as usual 🤙🏽
You would love a Rion, they are amazing machines.
I always like the Rion they look great 👍
Yo that drone is dope af!
Yeah, the skydio is so much fun to use. 👽🖖
Thanks Alberto. You have to see this machine in person some time, it's a beauty.
@@AlienRides Yeah, gotta stop by to see your Rion Thrust up close and personal 😉. I don't know why it reminds me of Mad Max's Interceptor police car just by standing still over that picnic table🔥🚀
My dream scooter ❤️ nice video brother 👌 greetings from 🇵🇭
It's a great scooter, hope you can try it some day.
Anxiously awaiting a follow up review on your Rion. Soon?
Many more Rion videos soon. We are going to be working on an absolute killer of a review, it's just taking a bit more time. Give us a few weeks.
Man that rion Thrust is a beauty I may consider selling my thunder to get one😎
You would love one! If you can swing it, better to keep your Thunder while you wait for production, but it would totally be worth it.
@@AlienRides how much do you charge to upgrade the thunder throttle to the rion roller type?
@@InvokePerformance we are still waiting for the throttles to come, and we are hoping to sell and install for around $200 USD
@@AlienRides Thats a very good price!! Thanks
Beautiful machine I would like to know if it is really good for daily communite.
A bit like commuting in a hypercar but totally doable and I have done it many times. 👽🖖
Great review!
Thanks, super fun filming this one in the mountains of LA.
5:15
That road and the view are . What's it called? 🤔🤔🤔
I believe that's at the top of angel crest highway. Amazing place to ride.
the rion look so sick
Best looking machine by far.
So you should please make a video on how to install that throttle on the thunder for those who don't live in your area to have it done.
Yup, we will definitely be making that video in the future!
@@AlienRides awesome ty :)
It looks like the Thrust is the only model they're selling now. Are they going to do another (relatively) entry level model like the RE60?
They're only selling the thrust for now. I hope they sell an entry level one in the future!
Awesome scooter. When will you have those thumb throttles available to install at your shop. I live close to San Fran so would like to install those on my Dualtron's
Awesome, we will definitely be making a video about that and will be doing lots of installs of them. Stay tuned.
1:55 where can I get that parking stand?
I'm actually not sure, I think some of the Rions come with one? I'll have to find out about the link on where to get just the stand..
Kevin:
1. More SPEEED PLEASE and NUMBERS. These things are extraterrestially fast but i just could not see the speed in your vid! No km/h / mp/h and no accelrration test....yet?
2. Zip up your Jacket when riding!
3. So sad I would take RE90
And thanks for the video :) always great to see an Alien Rides video ^^ these scoots look so legit :)
Cheers 😍🥰
Can’t wait for you to ride them both. We are on it! ❤️👊🙏
@@rionmotors1459 🥰🤩😁 the HYPE is REAL !!!
Speed tests with telemetry will be coming very soon, this was just a quick one-day trip to make a video. You will absolutely love either one of these machines, hope you can try it soon!
@@AlienRides woo hoo! Cant wait for this video then :)))
Nice riding through the mountains scene. But the guy with the Black and Decker chrome blender on his back looks goofy.
Yeah, he (me) is a nerd! 👽🖖
Also, what are the statistics differences between the rion 90 and The thrust? Price, range, 0 to 60 speed/time, weight capacity, etc.
Weight capacity would be the same, I'll do some detailed performance testing in the future. Either one is an excellent machine, I'm currently recommending the thrust to people.
awesome video like always )
Thanks! Going to create so many more in the future with this Rion!
You've just killed my dream of a Thrust for daily use :-)
Of course, i could get it for the sheer pull and just avoid going over 40mph but i'm too old to kid myself :-)
It would be a constant battle, sheer lust vs self preservation
Can we get a review of the Alien Rides Nova Mini!!!!
Make a video on top speed and length of distance. Ordering my Re290!
Awesome, you're going to love the RE90. Got some big videos planned for this year with the Rion including various range tests.
Video would be Epic with a Speedo in the bottom corner 👍
Yeah, definitely should've included some telemetry. We'll do some speed tests with that in the near future!
@alienrides yeah! Congratulations!!!! Awesome 🚀🚀🚀🚀👨🚀
It is awesome, can't wait for you to see it!
@@AlienRides Hell yeah dude, excited for you meng, 🎊🎉🎊
Pause video to say, thank you this is epic
Thanks, it was awesome filming this!!
one thing i notice qbout scooters is the cheaper the metal. the more parts will bend.
and then there is interference with the wheel and parts.
All this and more coming in the next Rion review video. This was just a short trip to get the scooter, but we'll be doing a lot of video on it.
Great ride great review Alien Rides! Rion is the best! If you want the very best made and the fastest scooter no other can compare. Well worth the wait to own a Rion designed and hand built by pros in CA.
Yes definitely worth the wait for one of the best machines ever. Thanks for stopping by.
Damn dude... Congrats... Beautiful scooters.
Thanks, they are my favorite for sure.
@@AlienRides really interested to see the esc scooters and how they will compare... I have a feeling... they won't lol
@@AlienRides btw can you cover the suspension next time. I see the rear swing arms but doesn't the front jar you to death?
@@jediradekcrif9568 ah yeah, hoping to do an in-depth review of these models soon.
yes we need water cooled, lots of wet rain in london, throttle tempering is nice, dont take max away. Then i'm in, want one already..
water cooled means it can be made water proof, in case anyone interested.
A watercooled and waterproof Rion would be amazing, I'm sure they're looking at that.
Dear friend, why are there so few videos posted ?
Thank you for the concern. We've been busy making some improvements to our warehouse and some insane videos are coming soon. Sorry for the silence here!
@@AlienRides thank you friend for answering , we will wait with patience !
Yes, the wait is a killer, sorry to hear about your friend's experience. I know they're working on ramping up production.
I'm waiting (4+ months) for a RE60. How would you compare it to the Thrust?
Yeah, that is a long wait... The Rion RE60 is still a great machine, possibly better power to weight ratio compared to the thrust. Hope you have yours soon, they are ramping up and finishing many orders soon, stay patient, it's worth the wait.
@@AlienRides I went ahead and upgraded to the Thrust. Too old for all out racing.
The 90 is pure beast but the Thrust is a must.
I can see why you chose it. Enjoy!
They are both amazing scooters, but I think the Thrust is better for everyday use.
Would love to see a pov ride with the re90 !
Very nice indeed, Please could you give me all your electric unicycles since you're in love with the Rion Thrust. 😂😂😂
Haha, while I love the Rion scooters, I still ride my EUCs more actually since they are so convenient. Got some EUC reviews coming up soon.
Fantastic ride fantastic scenery too 😲😎👌I want both 🤣
Yeah it was amazing riding down these mountain roads. Hope you can try one some day!
@@JP-ne7xj it’s the controller throttle curve. The throttle will help, but it’s primarily how the controller operates.
It's sad they don't have an integrated cockfit with internal cabling. It would make the scooter 100 times cleaner
I’m sure they’re thinking about that!
Super Hot ride!!! But dang calling my scooter a boring box rectangle now thats cold 😅
Hahaha, hey those boring rectangles are still really fun to ride and I still love my thunder. Ride soon!
I really like the way I ask questions and you answer me quick . I live in London how much that will be in pounds?
Not sure, I don't sell these, you'll have to check out their site at: bit.ly/getrion Good luck!
@@AlienRides okay thank you.
Amazing machine !!
I agree, it's incredible and I'm going to be making a ton of videos on this.
God, what I would do to get my hands on one of those.
I would love to see what you do on one!
Can we get more videos on the rion trust with GoPro camera
Definitely, I will work on some soon this year.
@AlienRides Did you try the upgraded the RE60S .... in a few months im looking to possibly purchase one.
I have been on the RE60s and it's also an amazing machine. Super lightweight, incredible power to weight ratio. I'm a big fan of it.
Wow! Amazing
I agree, thanks for stopping by!
Hi
I want to ask you how is the new Curve accelerator? I ordered a RE60 and I can upgrade to the new Rion Curve.
Thank you
The curve accelerator is really great, I'm not sure if it comes on the RE60, but you should definitely upgrade to it if not!
@@AlienRides Thank you.
I was told I can upgrade and I think I will now upgrade
@@AlienRides Very helpful - Thanks!
Incredible machine and the Best scooter technology.
#hyperscooter
I agree, it's amazing!
Yea for 6 thousand plus
: ) Looks good and fun!
One of the most fun things I've ever ridden. 👽🖖
Probably the most fun you can have standing up...
Yeah, I'd say that's correct.
Good vidéo, make a vidéo rion re90 vs the faster weped vs faster dualtron
We can definitely make that video in the future. The Rion will smoke them all.
@@AlienRides hope cause they have lots of haters who think rion is overrated. The vs will shut the mouth of many haters
