We definitely utilize naptime! I'm a mom of 5 and have 4 month old twins. We had 4 under 4 until a couple of months ago. 🤪 It was crazy times until I just let go and prioritize reading/phonics and math. So much peace for me and everyone else. I agree 100% "peace over progress". 🙌🏾
Great tips. Some new ideas and others are needed reminders. I am expecting number 5 this summer so thankful to have those first 6-8 weeks with baby during our summer break. This is my third baby I’ve had while I’ve had school aged kids, this upcoming year I will have kids in grades 3&5 as well as a 3 year old, 2 year old, and the newborn. It’s sure to be an adventure 😂 simplify is the name of the game this next year
I'm currently pregnant with my 5th 🎉 We're just wrapping up my oldests kindergarten year. This fall I'll have a 1st grader, a kindergartener, a preschooler, a 2 year old, and a newborn. As my sons 1st grade work is coming in I. Am. Panicking. Always on the verge of crying. Always overwhelmed. These were great tips. I also live in a heavy homeschool (large family) community and all the older moms tell me to relax. Lol. You can only do what you can do and sometimes...it's nothing.
Your kids ages sounds like mine. We welcomed our 5th baby 2 months ago, so mid school year. The way I prepared my oldest (first grader)for this transition was working through the summer since I knew having a baby would slow us down and this also would allow for us to take some time off as needed in the newborn stage. We succeeded and are now wrapping up with our math/Lang arts curriculum. If you could maybe do an extra lesson or two per week prior to baby coming I'd highly recommend it. But if not feasible no worries either! It all works out at the end and most of the time better than expected. I also did a more relaxed teaching approach with my 5yr and 3 year old. Allowing them more play time than academics in their daily routine. It's ideally what they need anyways. Best of luck and congratulations on your new bundle of joy coming soon!
@@keissylorini9319 Definitely! For his kindergarten we started a couple months early to get ahead. I'll definitely be doing the same this year though I don't think I'll be getting ahead quite as much :(. It'll all work out. God knew what was coming down the pike before we did and will give us the grace to work through it! Just wish I didn't get so stressed about getting all the things done!
Thank you for this! Experienced a lot of these things having our fourth last fall, I’ve thought about wanting a fifth but then get so worried that it will be another year of my school aged kids getting a sleep deprived, overwhelmed mama, and that makes me apprehensive to have another baby!
This was perfectly timed! Thank you! This will be our first year of homeschool as our oldest will be in kindergarten this fall. Baby #3 is due in the fall too. Going to keep the expectations minimal and realistic as this upcoming year will be our first year of homeschooling regardless of baby...of course that just makes things more interesting 😅 Love your videos....hopefully an usborne haul soon, love seeing new books 😊
Great timing on this video. My daughter goes back to work from maternity leave in just over a week so we will have her 6 week old and 18 month old 4 days a week.
Teaching textbooks is a life saver ! We've been using it for years now 😊
