- Hello loveliess another animatic mv is up!!! This time its from an old Gumi song that i love!! It became so angsty lmao but i made sure to put a good ending!! :))) Took a teensy bit liberties with the translation to fit the situation but the core message is intact!

Basil and Sunny are just so sad. Neither intended for anything bad to happen, they cared about each other so much, but an accident that happened when they were 12 ruined their ability to be around each other. I’m glad that the secret ending shows a path to healing for the both of them.

Remembr guys Basil is (gay) Suffering from extreme mental trauma, and his 'devotion' to Sunny is born from a deep rooted fear of being alone, resulting in his breakdown when he is told Sunny is leaving. He can't handle not having Sunny around. Joke aside this is really good
His sexuality is deliberately left ambiguous, because he's based on Basil Hallward from The Picture of Dorian Gray, the painter who paints the titular portrait that lets Dorian stay eternally young, and is heavily implied to be in love with him. At the end of the book, Dorian kills Basil with a knife and destroys the painting.

I can't stand my two boy's hurting eachother this way. They turned from best friends to deeply resenting eachother basically overnight, there are so many twisted feelings, Sunny cleary still love Basil since he kept him in his dreams like aways, but Basil is the epitome for him to pursue and realize the truth of what they did together, so he can't just have him innocent and sweet like the rest of the image he built of his friend's in the dreams, therefore, he shuts him down. Basil is still deeply affected to this day, and resented Sunny so much for abandoning him, it was so hard to face this alone and I'm pretty sure Basil wanted to face it together, but it was overall too hard for Sunny to take it. I just hope they can find happiness together and build a healthy relationship, I genuinely love sunflower 😭🙏

I just realized that the ship name (at least i hope it is) Sunflower is a combination of Sunny’s name and Basil’s interest/theme with flowers, and Basil considers himself as the sunflower in the game, a symbol of what he hopes to be.

So no one is going to talk about 2:00 and how basil was so desperate to have sunny with him that he's literally being choked to death and he tells sunny to not let go.
This was perfect. It was one of those rare experiences where something new appears before your eyes: a song you didn't know, an unique and beautiful art style, an interpretation of something you know that captures a detail no one used before; something bound to remain in your heart...
