Howzit Bruddah! Jus stumbled across your vid after I got done posting one of mine, so glad I did. What a rush when you see the unmistakeable blue line and dots on that huge silver omilu head in clear water. Awesome catch! Liked and subscribed--Aloha 🤙
How come the beach had no one else? Where was this? Really great fishing practice when you catch and release. I think it sets a good example and it helps to keep the ocean abundant for future generations. Awesome!
mogtrader8....Aloha bro thanks for watching,I usually don't keep the fish unless someone asks me to catch one for them besides this fish here has been known to carry a toxin which makes them unsafe to eat so I won't hesitate to release it.
lol I admit i was high sticking it there..just me being a little anxious to land it and its also a thinner pole that I'm used to.Mahalo for watching mr toady2 if you did not please sub Aloha
C K ....I caught my bait right in front of me,all you need is frozen shrimp for bait a small hook and line under 6lb test and you should be good to go.....the fish I caught ain't picky when it comes to bait so any bait fish you catch will do.....I'm dealing with some health issues so it's been hard to get out there, but I'll try and make a tutorial in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching brother maybe we can hook up in October Aloha
That would be cool. 16-22nd of October 2017. If not that's cool too. But what I would like to ask is about gear. Should I fly in with poles or can I buy/rent some around. We are staying around Puako.
C K....I'm not sure if anyone rents poles but I know you can buy a decent rod/reel Combo from Walmart or kmart in kona in the $40 to $60 dollar range and your tackle gear shouldn't be more than $20 dollars but ultimately it's up to you bro...call me when you get here in October my number is 8083458270 Aloha
Just need to find where the fish are at and you can catch bigger fish. My biggest umilu I caught is about 15-20 lbs. Caught it with a hinalea as a bait
The emblem rods are solid..they got a nice backbone to them and the prices are reasonable..i think you going like um, good luck my braddah Allan Aloha!
if daytime, try handpoling or bamboo with raw shrimp for bait and tiny hooks--in the same type area off rocks or tidepools that Bruddah is fishing in. If nighttime you can try torching in rocky shallow water with scoop net and scoop em while they sleep. 🤙
Kahele Koki....my braddah buss laugh your comment,I still get the footage of me legs up leaving this place that day,So not so impressive just flocking embarrassing...thanks for watching
good on you for the catch and release !!!!
Solid fish!! It was giving no ground at all. Poor pole lol.

The best Daiwa fishing pole medium - heavy action...Daiwa strike force...excellent for land 5 pounders
I tried strikeforce poles before..they solid, similar to the Diawa beefstick IMO.Ii would only use them for dunk though. Thanks 4 watching!

Always nice when the papio you are trying to land is heavy enough to snap your rod.(Even if you were high sticking it a bit)

I caught a bunch of those yesterday. Never knew I was sitting on a live bait gold mine.
EquestriaKnight234 ..thanks for watching. These guys make great bait, for me probably 3rd on my list for Omilu...they definitely produce strikes
KEN FISHING DA 808 so what's the suggested line for the leader? I use 25lb on my main.
I usually use 80 to 100 pd test leader but that's just me and the terrain I fish...40 pd test is the lowest I would go
