There is a famous book made later into a movie The island of Dr. Moreau. It is kind of a Frankenstein take off with a scientist transforming animals into human beings. I suppose this is an updated version. If someone wants to see a complete disaster watch the Marlon Brando movie Island of Dr. Moreau, it is mind bogglingly bad.
