In the olden days people thought everyone was Right handed (the majority) and were used to cleaning their backside with their left, which makes some people feel it does not look good hygienically when used for eating or shaking hands. But now we should come to realise that there are also the minority of the people who are born naturally Left handed and use it opposite way with their Right hand. At times we should try to understand the reasons behind certain customs and usages.
