21:27 I KNOW THAT SONG! I used to sing it in church choir all the time! The last part "-to take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally! Let there be piece on earth and let it begin with me!" is my favorite part!
My favorite grade was first grade and that's because I had cancer that year and missed the entire year of school BUT my amazing teacher came to my house whenever I was home from chemo treatments and brought over all the work I was missing. She and my mom worked together so that I still learned everything I needed to know to stay on track and not get held back a year. I still think about that amazing teacher ❤
I too was raised on soap opera drama!!! Young and the Restless, As the World Turns, and Bold and the Beautiful. My mom and I would always watch them. She passed away a few years ago, and you just brought back great memories for me. ❤️

Emily: Your mid-term story SO hit home with me! You and I are extremely similar. We’ve always worked hard at our studies and career-and put very high standards and expectations on ourselves. I was valedictorian of my class. And I, too, ditched first chair in band (played clarinet)-and gave up my position as the band’s drum major-to be a cheerleader!
My dad, who was quite strict and a chief inspector for the US Border Patrol, also had high expectations of me. I once made a B instead of an A on my report card. This was such a serious infraction in his mind, he took me on a walk around the block to discuss it!! My level of guilt for making a B was big enough for both of us, so that walk really wasn’t necessary.
So it’s normal for us to sometimes crack! I once stole a piece of bubblegum at the neighborhood Circle K that I frequented as a child. I was around second grade age. I’m now 64 and I STILL feel guilty about it! 🤣

I grew up in a small town in central Illinois (Sullivan) and relate to some of your life experiences. My Mom also watched All My Children so I grew up on it as well and it was my go to until it went off the air a few years ago. Thank you for keeping your channel so REAL and relatable to those of us that have lived a small town life trying to be the best Mom we could be to our children! my favorite christmas song is and always will be silent night! I was in church choir from 3rd grade until 8th grade then did music ministry in highschool all 4 years along with 2 years of concert chorus my junior and senior year. Every time we sang silent night my heart became full! its just a beautiful song!
Wrapping prezzies with coffee and Em’s Christmas Eve GRWM! Have been loving our blizzard warning here in Michigan and nothing feels more festive. Baking cookies with the windy snow yesterday was just perfect. Oh Holy Night and Carol of the Bells are my favorite Christmas songs and my boys have started to ask me not to sing 🎶 😂 (so I sing louder) they used to sing with me, so I hope they come back around someday. I started watching Young and the Restless in the summers with my grandmother when I was around 10. In my teens when “Nikki” started I really started following it. In college I scheduled my classes around As the World Turns, Days of Our Lives (which I watched with my boyfriend) and Young and the Restless. Good times…. Merry Christmas Emily. 🎄🎁❤️

My mom would always start a day after Thanksgiving a 1000 piece puzzle and she would lmost always finished on Christmas Eve. I will never forget all the fun things my mom would do it us growing up. One just never forgets. Sure am missing my mom.

Teachers can save lives and bring comfort. I became a middle school math teacher and tried to do that for my students.
