I picked up a D'armond 12 string SG shaped guitar from the 70's and it sounds so much like a BJM 12 string. Instead of the vox single coils, its got d'armond single coil pickups which 1000% have that 60's vibe. Since I got it, ive been obsessed with learning some bjm. From very first strum, it sounded like a bjm guitar to me.
I was in a shop the other day and they had a 1997 Gretsch Country Gentleman 12 string which I didn't even know they made! I see a Country Gent up on stage during their performances sometimes but it's a 6 string. Was thinking about dropping $2,400 on the guitar because it was just so beautiful and perfect for the BJM sounds even with the Filtertron. I got home and found Korg was having a sale of their new Vox guitars. I bought two of those instead haha. Might pick up a Gretsch electromatic 12 sometime in the future.. they are beautiful guitars. I'm not familiar with D'armond 12s but if it's got that 60s jangle, it's got that 60s jangle. Cheers!
Awesome dude! I found a looper is great with this song to add the multiple guitar tracks. Thanks again for taking my requests!
