Wow, may God just continue to bless you with this talent. I can't believe I actually understood a lesson on passing chords. Praise God Almighty, Thank you!!☺
Thank for breaking this down in the simplest way possible. I was having hard time with it. now I know that whatever note I play in the bass note will be the third of chord in my right hand.
I've been learning to play the piano by ear for about three years now; I found this video very clear and helpful: sometimes my playing sounds a bit vanilla and this helps to zhoosh it up a bit! Thank you!
just want to say thank you for this great tutorial (and all your other material). its a blessing for me as a struggling piano student. Hope there is more to come. Best wishes.
1st time watching ur video. What a blessing. This is a great exercise for me transposing into other keys. So glad i watched this.Thank u again. God bless ur heart for sharing what He has blessed u with.
Hey Seth, I think most people have been exposed to some kind of vocal warmups, most not super helpful by themselves. What really helps me is taking individual vocal lessons. I would also recommend a book titled "Set Your Voice Free" by Roger Love - comes with a CD of exercises.
Sorry I was in a hurry, it's just that no one seems to get the chords, sorry to ask you, but your good, you know a lot than I can possibly know. God bless you.
Hi, thanks for the useful video. But what about more jazzy transitions? Like the bass might walk more jazzy until the destination chord (to the fourth or fifth) and we end up with some minorish sounds to play along with it? Maybe some notes outside the scale or 7ths and 9ths maybe. I hope I expressed myself well :)
Wonderful!!! Can u tell me how you record what you are playing in the keyboard ? (Please specify the software, wires used and anything else that helps) Tnx a lot:))
Hello, I am Joydeep am from India. I am learning keyboard on my own. Was watching your videos. I got quite a few things to ask and know. For now I want to know regarding the Passing Chords. In this video you showed how to use slash chords as the Passing Chord. You showed from one First to Fourth Chord and from Fifth to First. But what about the other chords when moving from third Fourth to Sixth or vice versa and when moving from Fifth to First should we move from Sixth Seventh One or Fourth Third Two One? The other question is in the other videos while playing chords with both the hands while playing C chord and other chords you are playing different notes on each hands..what is the concept? in C major scale all the chords would be played in the white keys..but you are also playing the black keys... if You could help me to understand I would be grateful.
+Joydeep Biswas hello, you'll find some of the answers here: ruclips.net/video/QU9aePFXU3Y/видео.html Listen for the section about "secondary dominants"
Is there a reason you play the in-between notes as 3rds in the passing chords? That is, could there be different passing chords using the in-between notes as a 5ths, etc.?
This is pretty specific to two major chords a fourth apart, but if you have some chords and a scale in mind, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. :-)
I'm in key of B major. My progression is B/ B/Em/Em/ Asus2/Gmaj/F#/B/ I borrowed Em , b7 I.e A major (using as A sus 2) . And G major from its parall minor . I.e B minor.. First thing I want to know is it allowed in music theory of borrowed chords ? Secondly I want to know when I'm going to Em .A, G which is borrowed from parallel minor chord what all notes can I play over those chords .? For eg if Em is for 2 bars ,can we take the notes from E natural minor E,f#,G A,B,C,D,E or we have to confine our selves to notes in Bm.i.e B c#,D,E F#,G A B All though all notes are common , c# is not common.

Does this work if u r moving from a major to a minor chord of the same scale?
This is pretty specific to two major chords a fourth apart, but if you have some chords and a scale in mind, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. :-)
I'm in key of B major.
My progression is
B/ B/Em/Em/
Asus2/Gmaj/F#/B/
I borrowed Em , b7 I.e A major (using as A sus 2) . And G major from its parall minor . I.e B minor..

Secondly I want to know when I'm going to Em .A, G which is borrowed from parallel minor chord what
all notes can I play over those chords .? For eg if Em is for 2 bars ,can we take the notes from E natural minor
E,f#,G A,B,C,D,E or we have to confine our selves to notes in Bm.i.e B c#,D,E F#,G A B
All though all notes are common , c# is not common.
@@OurWorshipSound .sir kindly look to my question
It looks like you're in B minor, not B major, correct? I'm not quite clear on your original progression or what substitution you want to make.
@@OurWorshipSound .Revered sir, I'm in B major scale but I've borrowed the chords from parallel minor I.e B minor.
God bless you
I was searching for this info but thought I would have found it in minor chords. but now I know minors are totally different from pasing chords.
