I love the part where stripe is happy about the carolors singing it proves that there not that bad they maybe be evil but we cant judge them cause of that once you get to know em they are pretty nice they just need some time to get used to us all they want to do is just be like us
They should have kept that scene in the theatrical release. Now we know how the Gremlins knew about Christmas caroling when they "sang" to Mrs. Deagle. Until today, I always thought the scene showing Gremlins singing carols was stupid as it came out of nowhere, and there was no earlier scene to establish that Gremlins not only knew about singing carols but also knew what specific songs and melodies pass as caroling-worthy. I can now sit through the theatrical version of Ghostbusters and appreciate the entirety of the scene involving Mrs. Deagle's demise, instead of muttering obscenities to myself and wondering whether others feel or have felt the same way.

What everyone who watches Gremlins should take away from it is that even though what the Gremlins did is absolutely terrible and vicious and destructive, the fact of the matter is, the Gremlins did what actually needed to be done to Mrs. Deagle. Mrs. Deagle was a corrupt, vicious, terrible monster, just like the Gremlins. Only, she dealt out her evil in different ways, but she was a monster nonetheless and the Gremlins killed her like they should have. Thanks to the Gremlins, Mrs. Deagle is no more, and the fine folks in Kingston Falls are free of her reign of terror.
The gremlins inadvertently saved Kingston Falls by killing both Deable & Corben. They were trying to foreclose on certain houses so a chemical factory could build their headquarters there.
At the age of 5 I had a little thing for Zach Galligan , but to be perfectly honest I think that Phoebe Cates would look better with him than I ever would.
All women look better with long hair. Once it's short enough to be guy length, they look like young boys instead of women and it's an instant permanent turn off

So they survived in the film. Originally, he was supposed to die, but the filmmakers thought it would be too cruel so they added the part with the newscaster mentioning his plan to visit him at the hospital to ensure he survived, yet still came out not entirely unscathed.

i have a recorded version of the film, off of the DISNEY Channel, of all places, that actually INCLUDES the bank vault scene starting at the line "you're extremely late for work". when i recorded it years ago, i was like "wait a minute, this wasn't in the home video version i've rented before!" unfortunately since it was Disney channel, this bonus came with some losses: loss of mild profanity, and the famous microwave scene T_T i need to get the dvd...

I think I've only seen the guy who plays Gerald in one movie where he wasn't a sleezebag who got what was coming to him. That movie was Beverly hills cop.
4 people were killed in quite nasty ways in the finished film......I don't think 1 more death would change the tone of the film much at all! it's definitely more dark compared to the slapstick new batch gremlins 2.....

that's my career in noodles over!!! I think they should have left in the bit with stripe and the people singing Christmas carols. I thought mrs Deagle was going to throw water over them as that would have tied in later in the film.

So it’s CONFIRMED in the first film they survived, albeit obviously with great injuries. They were originally going to die, but they decided it’d be too harsh for them to get killed and I think it was the right decision as unlike with Miss Deagle, Mr. Corbin in the deleted scene and even the cops where their deaths by the hands of the Gremlins are satisfying to watch considering how unlikable they were, the Futtermans were actually good natured people and it would’ve been unfair for them to be killed off. Next time you watch the film, pay closer attention to the news reporter’s dialogue.

There's one part I loved about the 1st Gremlins movie. Those Gremlins killed Mrs. Deagle. She was a real Witch.
Mister Corben ran out of time. Some people try to kill time, time killed mister Corben. Would have been cool if somebody used one of those lines.

The Futtermans don't survive the snow plough in the first film. Their survival was retconned so they could be in the sequel.
