I disagree. I don't think there is 40 dollars worth of performance improvement over a regular 212. In fact I know there isn't. It's actually just a predator 212 with a 3mm stroke and a stronger block...problem is, the regular 212 doesn't have issues with block strength anyways. And the 224 comes with a plastic cam gear which is fine if you leave it stock...if you want to do much with it at all you need to replace the cam anyways. So 40 bucks extra gets you a 3mm stroke. That's it. I would rather keep the 40 and put 40 more dollars into a 212.

I would say "Yes" considering the "out of box" scenario. Just based on what your other options are. A Briggs lo206 for $599, or a Predator, Tillotson, or Ducar ranging from $129-$249. Many would argue the Ducar because of the flywheel but that's the only engine euipped with the pvl flywheel (Check out Kentucky fried fixin's) video. The Tillotson claim 10hp out of the box. I've had two and I would say more on par with a stock Predator. The Ghost's main drawback is you either have to wait for the proprietary accessory kit ($150) or piece together your own based on your needs ( air cleaner, header pipe, pulse pump, fuel lines, etc.). Hope this helps.

They claim a 10% increase in power. I'm looking to find a decent used off-road go kart or mini bike frame that needs some tlc and an engine to have some fun with and lower end torque is what I'll be after rather than high speed hp. I'll be running a torque converter as well so I have another question, it's been a few years since I learned about this but supposedly these little torque converters can be adjusted to provide either more low speed torque or high speed power besides the normal sprocket size changes that can also be made and I am curious if you're aware of this and if so have you messed with the different adjustments and what your opinion is about them and if you think it makes a difference?

So someone is expected to create a class just for this engine? So when is Harbor Freight releasing the racing chassis for this class and is it dirt oval or Sprint kart like Tillotson? If there's no racing class for this engine with the.250 something lift cam, slide carb, rev limited coil, and squeeze casted rod, then it's just a marketing ploy and not worth anybody's money in my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyone know of a class this engine can compete in as released?
