Very nice and informative video, thanks. In case of true position, let us say true position tolerance of a hole is dia 0.3 mm (RFS) from a datum A. In this case, if nominal value for position of hole is 30 +/- 0.3 mm from datum A, how much tolerance does the true position tolerance actually give to the position of the hole. Can you show how to calculate it please?
Hi Suresh krishna sharma MMC condition for hole is smallest hole in spec ex. if hole size is 10+/- 0.1 as per drawing, then 9.9 is the MMC for that hole MMC condition for shaft / pin is largest size of shaft / pin in spec ex. if pin size 10+/- 0.1 as per drawing, then 10.1 is the MMC for that pin LMC is directly opposite for MMC Hope you have understood
MMC means Maximum Material Condition. ie, OD at maximum side of tolerance for shaft and ID at minimum side for hole. Because we have to add material to shaft to bring OD from minimum to maximum size w.r.t tolerance (maximum material condition). Similarly, if we are adding maximum material then the hole ID will be minimum side of tolerance. For LMC condition it is opposite for shaft & hole. Hope you understand now
Pls detail explanation of MMC,LMC and RFC Why because how to add bonuses tolerance in position tolerance Pls explained This condition both the shaft and hole condition also
Hi Akash, For hole 10 +/- 0.10 if position tolerance 0.20 with Maximum material condition means. For dia 9.90 position tolerance is 0.20 For dia 10.00 position tolerance is 0.30 For dia 10.10 position tolerance is 0.40. So now you can understand that position tolerance is incrementing as dia increases from Maximum material condition. MMC & LMC also called as bonus tolerance.
Very good explanation Sir 👏 I have a doubt sir What’s the difference between flatness and parallelism,circularity and circular runout,cylindricity and total runout??
In one more request sir . Explain true position formula and how derive position without tolerance in dimension like x=50,y=50 but didn't put tolerance in xand y value . So that condition how to calculate x and y tolerance
Position formula is 2√(x^2 + y^2) If you want to convert true position into coordinate tolerance you can divide by 3. For example position tolerance is 0.2 then 0.2/3 is approximately equal to 0.07. So you have to maintain with in 0.07 in both x and y coordinates
Runout is a combination of concentricity and circularity. Runout = Circularity + Concentricity. If a part is perfectly round, the runout will equal to the concentricity.
Hi sanjai, we have to search any common tolerance table given in drawing or not. If not given we have to take based on company procedure / similar drawing (not mandatory). But, design team will provide tolerance definitely if that dimension is critical.

Different of concentricity and runout?
Runout is a combination of concentricity and circularity.
Runout = Circularity + Concentricity.
If a part is perfectly round, the runout will equal to the concentricity.

How to choose pneumatic cylinder capacity?
Hi Rajkumar, as per formula
Force = Pressure X Area
So, Area = Force / Pressure.
Force = How much force should be acted on part / for process
Pressure = Air pressure from 1 bar to 6 bar or above
Area = Cylinder capacity or diameter
Based on the above we can decide
Hope i cleared your doubt
