Bat for Lashes is so beautiful, and I of course love everything she has ever created, but this version of this song is just absolutely incredible. I haven't listened to this cover in years because it's just a lot of emotions I can't always process, but my brain replays it in my head over and over on an almost daily basis. Seriously love you guys, thank you for this masterpiece of a cover

This interpretation gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. The deep emotions, Amanda's piano, everything in this is just perfect. And the black and white, simplistic, almost empty video just adds to the dramatic tension. A wonderful piece of art.
Was this supposed to make me cry so hard? The emotion here was so sharp -- feels like my heart was nicked during an emergency transplant and I'm bleeding tears.
Of course I went and read the whole story HERE. This is a heart grabber. And also the first time I heard Brendan Maclean, who is incredibly talented and deserves the accolades we can give them.
MY TWO FUCKING FAVES OMGOMG
This song hits me in the heart every single time I hear it. It means so much to me because it brings back the memories of my best friend who is named Laura as well as the first time I heard it, as per Amanda's recommendation a few years back. I was so happy to see that Amanda and Brendan did a cover of it as I have been following them both for a while. The best part is listening to it and being able to feel every word. Thank you.

I discovered Bat for Lashes about two years before I discovered the Dresden dolls. in a really cool way this brings a chapter of my life full circle. I ended that book. I am now writing another. You and Bat for lashes will still be a part of the new construct. Foundations are built on things that are real.
