if you aren’t used to using the command line, you can also double-click the .appx (or .msix, etc) file you downloaded for a GUI, user friendly, installer.

didnt know i can do it like that but i did manage to make a simple script so i can just run install and it gets it installs it and removes the app.appx file

It's insne how poorly some sites/services are. For instance, the Realtek Audio Console or HD AUdio Manager should be downloaded from the store as they suggest. Now, search for it manually in their store, you get to knockoff apps with 1 review and a price of 5 dollar. I'm sure a grandmother would think: "Well okay, Mr. Microsoft. After spending 4500 dollar on my basic laptop like the vendor told me, the extra 5 bucks is fine. I'm in when I need to, i want to hear my grandchildren!"
Command 'winget-install.ps1' did not work without a '-Force' at the end separated by a space, and PowerShell asked me to enter this command again but with this '-Force' at the end separated by a space, and lo and behold, everything started to swing, and install, that is:
Set-PSRepository -Name 'PSGallery' -InstallationPolicy Trusted ✅
Install-Script -Name winget-install -Force ✅
-winget-install.ps1- ❌
winget-install.ps1 -Force ✅
It’s strange that the author of the video did not clarify this, thereby causing confusion and a bunch of comments asking for help in this. 🤔

FYI, you don’t HAVE to use the command line. Windows 10 and Windows 11 allow you to double click the file to launch a GUI installer for the store apps.
@@NazmusLabs This is true if the person has appx app installer, for some ntlite users that removed windows components, they may or may not have it so they will have to use the command line to install.

Hey, I never comment but watch a ton of your content. Why don't you integrate this with your de-bloat tool. I run windows AME(Already Missing the store). Your tool fails to work grabbing Winget when the store is already pulled out.

winget doesn't have even half the apps in the Windows Store unfornately. For example... Dolby Access.
@TorchCTI ya, they restricted all paid apps I believe because it requires a Microsoft account sign in to confirm a purchase. I'm not sure how they will get around it really.

Man I've been pulling my hair out the last 2 days, trying to get Nvidia control panel installed, the my Microsoft store doesn't work, and the only fix I can see is to update windows, and that is also SHOT. I'm fairly technically versed ,but even I was reaching my wits end.

I would like to know what apps people can only get on the mirosoft store that are not on winget or choco?
So for whatever reason running scripts in powershell was disabled on my install so i had to enter "Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned" (RemoteSigned meaning "downloaded scripts must be signed by a trusted publisher". After running this I was able to install winget.
The other Set-ExecutionPolicy entries are:
Restricted - No scripts can be run
AllSigned - Only scripts signed by a trusted publisher can be run
Unrestricted - All Windows PowerShell scripts can be run
I chose RemoteSigned.

Anyone know where to find that command line he used? It's nowhere to be found in the description, the link he provided just takes you to a bunch of random nonsense. It looks nothing like the page he is on, and I'm mainly a linux user. Has this video just become totally dated?

I'm trying to download the Xbox app on my work computer but my organization blocks downloads from the MS store.
I have never used the Microsoft store even once, I had a glance at it once and that was all.
Does not work with MS Store games. the rdguard does not return any data.
