4k+ hours on this series, its awesome to see a youtuber such as yourself cover it and spread the good word! Fantastic vid and great references. Man I remember seeing your for honor stuff back in the day, awesome to see diversification of vids. Bonus points since I can tell from these clips in the vid you ACTUALLY played the game too for more than 20 turns, and you explain the mechanics in a new-player friendly way. 10/10 vid!
I grab everything the series puts out, as this game is phenomenal. People might nitpick about this or that, but being honest if you compare this to ANY other wargame available, its not even a close comparison. This is the gold standard hands down. This video does a great job of laying out the format of the game.
Yep. Nothing like the one race without magic in a magical world dominating the map. Because Total War autoresolve works the same in every game, not accounting for magic and monsters properly, but valuing ammo and armor higher than it should.
@@Grivehn Yep. altho honestly as vampire counts i could only really beat them in autoresolve, becouse in manual resolve they wiped the floor with me even harder.

2:03 this joke is actually very accurate in the sense that if i remember correctly World of Warcraft was initially meant to be a game about Warhammer named World of Warhammer, but because of a lack of money it became World of Warcraft, creating the Warcraft's universe
NO, warcraft: orc vs humans back in the 1993 the game was a Beta for Gamesworkshop's interested in making a Warhammer RTS game for the PC but gamesworkshop rejected it.
I got into the universe through Vermintide, and the only thing keeping me away from these games is I've never played the genre before and so I'm not sure I'd like it... but this actually made it look really fun so this may finally be the time I actually try something like this!
my current playthrough is as the highelves as tyrion, if you guys want more info on certain factions or how to play them then just look up said faction or top 5 factions and a youtuber who is british will pop up and youll be set from there, this game is very fun and each campaign will be different even if you play the same lord, an ally you had the previous run could now want war with you, dont jump right into the game, look for the faction that you wanna play or try out first and look them up and then go in.
I'm more of a "drown the world in rats, and exterminate your enemies with cartoon like contraptions of death, and nukes" type of Total War Warhammer player
Hey, 400+ hours in this game. A great video, loving the subtle nods at the Chaos Dwarves with Amazon. To those newer players thinking about getting the game and put off by the DLC, I understand. It is expensive, but ALL are dealer's choice on what looks cool. There are two that influence how well the base game races feel, i.e. the Rats (Skaven) feeling MUCH better with the Warlock and the Prophet DLC and the High elves having holes filled in their roster with The Queen and the Crone DLC, but otherwise get the base three games (Ideally on sale) and you're set to play Immortal Empires. Everything else is what just hits that spot in looking cool. Another note is the old games had free content in the form of factions or races you don't have yet. For instance, Thorek Ironbrow, a dwarf with his main race being in the first game, is FLC for the Second. Which means you can try the dwarf's roster and lord without having the first game yet. Same goes with buying DLC that adds to the roster of the first, or second, games. i.e. Warriors of Chaos/Twisted and the Twilight DLC. In short you don't need the first DLC or game of whatever race you choose to get the one you want, especially with Warriors of Chaos DLC. You get the lords included, with the roster unlocked (minus some Regiments of renown). Baring some extra mechanics, but the lords are what add those to the game which comes with whatever DLC you choose. Hope this helps. Now if you excuse me, I have to go see about some man sized rats that don't exist putting some tunnels under my city.
ooooh, a Total War Warhammer video! I've also been considering getting one of the Total War Warhammer games, but I've never been sure which one to get first, as someone who has touched only one RTS game in my entire life. And it was a mobile game on top of that.
My advice is to go for 3, the way Total War Warhammer works is that each game is basically an expansion on the last, with 3 being the most recent. When you buy 3 you have access to a few factions Kislev (fantasy Russia), Cathay (fantasy China) Daemons of Chaos (pretty much what it says on the tin) and warriors of Chaos. If you want to play as the Empire, the guys seen in this video, you would need to buy game 1, and then the Empire would be playable for you in game 3, alongside the dwarfs, greenskins, and Vampire Counts. On top of that there is DLC for all 3 games and it can quickly get pricey. I recommend trying out Warhammer 3 and seeing if you like that style of gameplay, and see what you think from there.
But yeah 3 is the one you want to get, if you want other races you need to get them as dlc but you start with the kislav ,mono god factions and grand Cathay
@@Gans848 both factions snowball extremely hard in the mid game. Khorne’s building managment and expansion is super simplistic. His map positioning is chaotic on IE so I suggest RoC instead.
@@captainseabass874 1. What kind of madman would recommend playing RoC when IE is a thing 2. Khorns economy always stays on the negative and he has to fight multiple fights every turn and be at war with almost everyone arround the player. I think that Skarbrand is a terrible choice for new players
