At 21:28 you forgot to upgrade one of your tiles :( Also, after receiving income, you can immediately use those coins to surround bonuses since bonuses are received after income. For example, at 1:11:00 you can get that bonus with coins received after the income phase.
Thanks for this, very entertaining and interesting. I've been umming and arring about AFFO for quite a while, worried that my brain couldn't quite handle it!
Thank you so much for watching! I hope this was helpful. There's definitely a lot going on but I do feel this one is very organised and the round tracker board helps so much to know where you are in the game. Flows quite nicely when you've got your head around it all 😁
Fun playthrough, really glad you're doing this solo Uwe series! Love this game, but still am really bad at pulling it all together consistently in my plays. Enjoy each play, but like you said at the start, sometimes I just can't get all the things I tried to cohere into a good score, especially if I try a new approach. But a great excuse to keep playing.
Thank you for watching! And glad you're enjoying the series so far! Yea I was quite lucky with this playthrough, it's not often I win as a lot of the time I think I try and dabble in too many things at once 🤭 but yes, enhances replayability at the end of the day! 😁😁
May I make a suggestion... with the top down view it can be a bit difficult to see where you place your meeples. If you lay them down on place locations it makes it just a tad easier to follow along. I have both the base and expansion with the added Islands one can get. The Norwegian's expansion did strengthen the livestock element of the game. I think it was well recognised that in the base it was a bit, a tiny bit, weak. I really love this opus of a game by Uwe. I recon it is his Opus. He is designing a new expansion by the way.
Small correction. The next standalone expansion, A Feast for Odin: Danes, as well as The Norwegians, are mainly designed by Gernot Kopke. Amazing designers!
Love this game. You made the same mistake as I did the first time I played the solo mode - you should be using the 1-2 player side of the actions board, which makes it more difficult. You are correct to also add coins to the island boards after they flip (but any coins added before the flip are removed - they don't carry over).

Good game! I read the manual, but I haven't had the chance to play this game yet. You have inspired me to try playing it as soon as I can. Thank you.
I hope you have so much fun when you get to it! It really is an excellent game :)

@@tiagobras8663Danes isn't listed on BGG. I had read Uwe's design notes on what was his thinking behind the new game. But as yet, nothing official.

I thought so thank you!
And I think you're thinking of the expansion - the base game just has the one board for all player counts :)
Looks like the 2024 version has a 1-2 player side
(I just bought the base game this week and it came with a double sided board)
Thank you for this 😊
Of course! Thank you for watching 😁
