Naxalism died in Bengal in late 70's, how long you will keep flogging a dead horse? There are various reason for Bengals backwardness in Industries beside political parties. There were no big Bengali Industrialist. After Independence most industry were in the hand of non Bengalis, that too most were in the Sun set sectors, heavily labour intensive, eg. jute etc. Dunlop and Hindustan motor did not die because of labour issue. In the labour intensive sector dispute with salary, non deposit of pension deduction to pension fund etc. made the situation bad and the bad reputation of Bengal. The non Bengalis, Marwari's and Gujratis went back to their native states. The poltical class should have done better then to remain on pilot. Whatever was left was destroyed by Mamata Banerjee. But it is never late.

Seeing this, a population boom and a massive influx of people is expected in new town by 2030, the wB govt needs to be ready with the infrastructure and basic amenities. Drainage, Sewage, Rainwater harvesting, traffic signals, transport, dedicated parking zones and most importantly a dedicated space for hawkers and food stalls else it will end up like shanties in sector V. Bhubaneshwar did a great job if you see the IT area. This silicon valley has got the potential provided the Gov takes some actions and maintains the basic infrastructure, one big thing, public convenience spaces as well.

Informative video. Well researched. But couldn't help but notice all the individual company lists. Most of them are 51-200 /200-500 employee strength company. Bengal needs major product based companies to set up their center here. Otherwise the overall payscale of IT employees in Kolkata won't revive ever. Most of these companies pay very less salary wrt Bengaluru / Hyderabad. Companies like JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Infor, OpenText, Qualcomm, Samsung etc are very much needed to provide employees a good market standard competitive salary.
