How incredibly generous of William to send you a Tower of London First World War ceramic poppy. Seeing the whole installation in the dry moat and knowing that each one represented a life lost, was deeply moving.
Absolutely completely agree, we went to see them very moving
cherish that poppy bro. Means alot to us over here. keep it safe as will be worth alot of money in 40 years
100% mate I have one and it’s double boxed and wrapped up in bubble wrap in my loft and that’s where it’s staying!🤣🤣🤣
@@nathanj4407 I have one of these aswell, there was one for every soldier that died in ww1, one of my relatives died so figured I’d buy his poppy afterwards. Mine has its own spot in the garden next to a birdhouse because let’s be realistic, 800,000 of them were made they aren’t ever going to be worth anything so you may aswell enjoy it
@@cunningstunt9226 If the majority of people do put them in the garden and over time they get broken, then the few that were left in their boxes might become worth something?
@@aequanimitas in theory say 790,000 of these get destroyed in some way over time (which won’t happen) leaving 10,000. That still isn’t particularly rare. Just enjoy it as a commemoration of an event that changed the course of history and don’t see it as a potential money maker. Not looking at it or enjoying it defeats the point in the object itself
@@cunningstunt9226 I don't have one, so I can neither look at it and enjoy it nor see it as a potential collectors item. It was just a thought based on seeing "collectable" items on television. There seems to often be items that were sold in huge numbers but only very few are in good condition.
Please take care of that Poppy! It is an INCREDIBLE act of generosity to send something so precious to you. One of those were made for every British or Empire death on the World War 1 battlefields. It's red colour signifies blood spilt for freedom. The person who sent it to you thinks so highly of your love for the United Kingdom that they have gifted this to you. Be very honoured my friend. ❤
So beautifully said.
The sender is clearly a big fan to send this. I’d love to have one!
couldn't have said it better myself .
The poppy is very symbolic over here. That ceramic poppy is very special. Top gift william!
Apologies for the tape lol, I didn't want to just send the original poppy box just so I didn't stick the labels onto it, and that grey bag had a giant rip in, so taped it all over :D just to make sure it couldn't fall off and the letter fall out lol. Love your pronounciation attempts of some of the words lol, like armistice.
Nice one William.
You're a legend William, that's a lovely gesture ❤
Very generous of you!
username checks out
Dude. It was you. What a heart you have. I don’t know who you are but I am so proud of you.
My sister (Trudie) was one of the sculptors of the poppies, they were a small team based in Derby that made each and every one of them by hand. My wife, Mum and I were invited by my sister to the Tower of London, into the moat (where the Queen had visited) and stood amongst the sea of poppies, and got a VIP personal tour through the whole installation which I will treasure for the rest of my days. I also have one of the commemorative poppies like you but signed by my sister, which of course means the world to me.
No way!! What an amazing project to work on
Cherish that ceramic poppy. They were made for the centenary (100 years) since the war. They are worth around £200 second hand.
That poppy is one hell of a gift!! Keep that safe!
You're holding the heart of our nation right there JT!! Do not put that outside, keep it safe.
So very true! X
If you read the comments youll notice how much the poppy means to us lot. Take care of that one JT its a bit special. 😊
The poppy is a disgrace
I have to agree The Poppy is so important to the nation and The Commonwealth of nations.
To remember the price paid by others to ensure our nations freedom.
Guard it well it's precious
Yeah, That's a hell of a gift with a really nice meaning behind it
Also long live the Wyvern King
@@spanky1857 Amen Brother. Human Man Warrior. 🙏
If JT doesn't call his tea review "JTea Reacts" I might cry
As a Scottish lassie you have to call the Highland cow Hamish it's the law 😂!! Also cherish that poppy that is one unique gift ❤
Please don’t put the poppy outside, keep it safe. I got a lump in my throat. I can’t believe how beyond moving that priceless gift is 🇬🇧
JT that poppy is a huge thing to have!!!! Many people in the UK would kill to have one of those. You must be one of very few people in the US to have one. Please please keep it safe, don’t put it outside!! The installation was so beautiful and meant so much to everyone. There’s some good RUclips videos about it. We know you & Anna will cherish it and look after it 🥰
When I saw the installation of almost 900,000 ceramic poppies at the Tower my heart was in my throat. It was incredibly moving. The poppies were hand made in Stoke which is the town famous for pottery, ceramics, etc. I'd urge you to look at some RUclips videos about this installation because it was a really big deal in this country . Some churches in the UK followed suit by having knitted poppies falling from their towers. This was all to mark the centenary of WW1. They're quite fragile - so take care.
The person who sent you that poppy must really like you and your channel! They hold real sentimental value here in the UK. It will probably hold good monetary value in years to come also. ✌️
Those poppies were amazing. I remember going to the Tower of London to see the finished display. It was really moving. They were subsequently split up and sent to other cities throughout the UK. I remember also seeing them at the War memorial on Plymouth Hoe a year or so later. That really is something special that you've been sent. Treasure it.
The Poppy is a wonderful gift. Treasure that
Duuuuuuuuuude that poppy is awesome. Cherish it, the Poppy means a lot to us brits and you got one from the Tower of London, you're lucky.
Cherish that poppy. 🌺 It is worth more than you may realise ❤
That Poppy was awesome, if you haven't already, look up the installation, It was stunning! The coins were commemorative medallions of the Queens Jubilee.
Wow the poppy is boss, cherish it JT. Your videos are the best, sending love to you , Anna and the pups ♥♥♥♥
Your very welcome it was me and the wife that sent Scott, Anna’s face when you showed her it was the exact reaction we had imagined, oh and the RSPCA is the governing body for animal protection.
They said it sounded like a lawn mower, but surely a cow is a kind of lawn mower. Awesome gift. I love Highland cows.
that poppy is a british national treasure, 100000000% a keeper
those 25th anniversary "letters" are stamp collections or what they are called in the business "first day covers" quite collectable
You have the centre of the poppy the wrong way round. The bigger black circle is the poppy centre and the smaller one is the piece that fixes it together. Please read the instructions again, or look closely at the poppy photos if you can't understand what I have written. Also the evelope wasnt opened by Her Magesty, the Postal Museum referred to on the envelope was. Lol. The coins are commemorative crowns ❤
There is a video available on RUclips that explains the poppy installation in the moat at the Tower of London. It is extremely moving.
Why dye the hair when you can dye the beard?!
Red white and blue beard, dual purpose for both UK and USA!
P.S. The museum was opened by The Queen, not the letter 😉
The poppy is a decoration JT don't put it outside incase it gets broken.✌️ From Scotland
PLEASE keep that poppy safe, and don't put it outside. That represents the ultimate sacrifice, and needs to be treated with great care and respect.
Yeah for sure. There's a lot of people on here that have or had family that fought and died in the war and the poppies are a nice memory for some. My grandad fought in Burma in the jungle in the black cats 14th army. So they had it worse than some. They had to drink they're own pee pee for weeks which made some very ill. My g,dad along with others died months after the war with kidney problems from recycling pee pee over and over. So yeah look after the poppy my dude.
Wow the poppy that is really special what an amazing gift
You dogs reaction to the mask is priceless 🤣
I laughed so hard 😅
honestly think you should have told him to watch the videos about the tower of london poppies before he opened the gift. he has no clue about how meaningful that gift is!
Think you may have to reassemble the poppy. The bigger washer resembles the centre of the poppy. The video about these is wonderful
What a terrible thing to happen to the first guy (Matt). After all of that, I'm glad that he has been left with a superpower. God bless him and his future.
Wow, that poppy is something special. I very much doubt there are too many state side. That could possibly be the only one. The instalation at the Tower was the center piece of the centenary remembrance.
Incredible gift.
Aww JT, you are adorable! The museum was opened by the Queen, not the letter 😅
Made me lol… just a little 😂
I'm glad someone else said this 🤣
I'm so glad you were gifted that lovely Poppy. I was one of the volunteers who placed them in the old moat in 2014. I placed some poppys actually underwater at Traitors Gate (!), where we were half shin deep in the Thames! It was an immense privilege, poignant & the proudest moments of my life. 💕
That poppy gift is amazing, so unique
the envelope wouldn't of been opened by the queen, its the museum that it came from that was opened by the queen, and the envelope is a celebration/commemorative of that :)
Wow! William! That’s so generous! He could of sold that online. Some people never managed to get one of those!! I got one luckily and I saw them when they were at the Tower of London. ❤ ( do not throw away the box and all the info if you ever want to sell it )
Look after that poppy. Do not put it in the garden. It's an incredible gift. Not only for what that poppy represents but for the generosity of William. PS. it's a Highland Coo, not cow ;)
Lol yeah I was yelling at the video 'COO! Coo!: totaly agree about the Poppy
Aye we diny had cows in Scotland ma freen we had Bonnie wee coo's and big Bonnie heilan coo's.
Translation
Yes we don't have cows in Scotland but Bonnie small cows and Bonnie highland cows
Actually the traditional name would be Hamish
I think the museum was opened by E2 not the envelope lol 🤣
I can’t believe you were gifted the poppy. Treasure that man. That’s truly special. What a wonderful and deeply special gift.
You have amazing, generous and kind supporters! Love all the gifts especially the poppy.
the poppy is epic . means so much to us in the uk too . the scene at the towere of london was amazing itll be on youtube . thats a piece of art
Wow you got a ceramic poppy. ❤
Seeing Anna's reaction to the Highland cow was so heartwarming and wholesome! how about Scott McCoo as his name?
Not only is the poppy on of a kind it was placed inside the Tower of London, as an art installation
I’m glad you got some laughs from the masks and sorry they scared to dogs!!!
Please please keep that poppy safe, they mean so much to the people of the UK (and so many others around the world) it is really precious
'Hamish' the highland cow? Hamish is a Scottish first name. That poppy was planted in the moat at the Tower of London, you have a piece of history there!
as a kid in 77 silver jubillee us school kids were all given a comemorative mug too i would have been about 8 year old then we had street parties and was a big thing then
Same, the jubilee mug and the commemorative coin of 77, the next jubilee it was my kids receiving a commemorative coin.
Wow that poppy was amazing! Make sure to keep that safe as others have said, that flower means a lot to us Brits, what a beautiful gift
Those coins are called crowns, they’re an old currency we used to have that became the now discontinued 25p coins. They were replaced by £5 coins in the 90s which look the same but are worth £5 legally (though they’re primarily commemorative and you wouldn’t want pay for anything with them even though you legally could). Usually £5 is a note not a coin.
You couldn't spent most £5 coins in the UK even if you wanted to. Most are minted for the Channel Isles and Gibralter, so not legal tender on the UK mainland, even though they're sold here.
As an amateur coin collector who’s collection consists almost entirely of coins that have been in circulation, I was delighted when a customer of a shop I worked in wished to pay with three five pound coins. Other shops had refused them but I knew that they were technically legal currency. The upper staff knew I collected coins and had absolutely no problem with me taking the coins as payment, because at cash up I would exchange them for their face value in notes.
They are Commemorative Crown Coins. A lot bigger than the old circulation crowns and half crowns of pre=decimal days.
The Poppy is truly special, please take very good care of it. Also there are documentaries about the whole installation which will give you a much better understanding, try & find on, I'm sure you will be very moved ❤ 🥀🇬🇧
"Excited for old mail" 😂 really 😂😂😂
Those silver 'coins' were given to every school child in the country to celebrate the queen being on the throne for 25 years. I think we also got a silver spoon as well.
Purple Hair would suit! You are so Fortunate to get the Poppy! I tried so hard to get one for my dad! I've Seen many a P.O Box Opening by many a reaction Channel but you guys seem to Really Appreciate! what is sent! Brilliant!
My wife and I was so incredibly lucky to visit the Poppies at the Tower, it was so moving, a lot of Londoners like myself wept a tear at the unbelievable sight and the showing of respect by all who visited was astounding. Complete silence, a somber, eye opening memory. ~trooper
24:03 Her reaction to the cow is everything 🫶🏻 I want one!!!
The coin is a special one minted just for the silver jubilee in 1977, we all got one as children, I think I have mine in a drawer somewhere. They were originally worth 25 pence (that is a quarter of a pound £) so you would need 4 to make up £1 they may be worth more now but as everyone had one they didn't really seem to gain much value. You seem to have some very loyal and loving fans for them to send you so many treasures like the poppy, the stamps and the coin. 🐶
Take good care of that poppy, my man!
They're very important, very meaningful.
Yeah the first day covers are pretty cool, they're only available to buy from the post office on the day they're stamped. They come out every time there is a new series of stamps issued or an important event happens
That Poppy was quite the gift. Take care of it it's one of a kind live the soul it represents.
The Poppy! Unbelievably special.
Caerphilly castle has massive place in my heart! Grew up in Caerphilly, even seeing it now 25 years later amazes me!
🤣🤣 No Prince Andrew mask then.🤣
Everyone going on about the poppy what they have not told jt is. Each and every year on the 11th hour on the 11th day on the11th month is when the UK remembers the fallen in war and that day is called remembrance day or poppy day. And we all wear poppies in our hat shirts blouses tops all the money raise through the sale of poppies goes towards helping our armed forces. If u Google the English poppy worn u will see that the leaf always points to 11oclock and that's when we pay respect with a minute silence
The large silver crown is a commemorative coin from the queens silver jubilee in 1977. I still have one. The face value is 25 pence but they are worth more as a collectors item.
The museum was opened not the envelope lol have a good day JT love the vids
Take Care of the Poppie ♥️ Keep it inside, my mum has hers in a tall flower pot in the dining room xx To have one is such an honour as there was only a certain amount made and were on display in such an amazing way xxx
OMG those stamps are going to be worth A LOT of money one day, you best get them secured.
Wow! Some amazing gifts JT,
You better have a good hiding place for the highland steer 🤣
Was one of the volunteers who planted some of the Poppies at the Tower of London, was a great day.
Thank you , it was breath taking & so emotional viewing them all laid out.
Cherish the poppies. I got two for my grandsons
Glad you liked the items in the box JT, look forward to the tastings, and enjoy the sweets😊
The poppy would be better wrapped and kept in the original packaging etc. ❤
So many people tried to buy those Poppys but were unable to! You are sooo Lucky!
The Silver Jubilee coin is a Crown, which is old money. Before 1971 UK was using Pounds, shillings and pence, and don't ask me to convert it because I was a year old when it changed lol Wiki says a quarter of a pound, so technically 25p but that's Old money so who knows lol. The Royal Mint sometimes rerelease old coins as commemorative ones for special events. That Silver Crown for the Jubilee was given to every junior school age kiddo (I have one) they were mass produced but it's a beautiful piece of history. The horse the Queen is depicted riding is 'Burmese' her favourite mare who was given to her in 1966 by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and ridden in the Trooping of the Colour every year from '69 to 86 when Burmese retired. The picture is literally how the Queen was turned out for the Trooping of the Colour (an event held for her birthday which was basicaly a huge military parade)
The Poppy truly is precious. I never got up to the Tower to see them in situ. Treasure it. :)
The mud on that poppy is most likely the mud from the moat of the Tower of London, kinda cool 🤣🤣😊
The ‘letters’ are ‘First Day Covers’. They are the first of the stamps in the series. X
Jamie Tate is a character on a British soap called Emmerdale 😅
Poppy is beautiful , in remembrance of the war dead your very lucky to have it . 😊
Wow the poppy is so emotionally symbolic to us in the UK. Please don't put it outside as it's so priceless. Keep it safe and cherish it indoors. We love all your videos.....can't wait to see the dyed hair 😂
Echoing all the calls to keep the poppy safe and inside. Valuable history there.
Wow that poppy present is awesome, what a connection to British history 🇬🇧, deffo put that in a safe place!
That Highland Cow needs to be called Hamish
I literally live with 5miles of Caerphilly Castle, fun fact for everyone thats interested Wales has more castles per square mile than any other country in the world😄. I can literally drive to 3 different castles within an hour of where I live, so much history and heritage in our small country that people have no idea about😁. If you guys visit Wales let me know il happily meet you both and show you all the attractions Wales has to offer😊, another great video keep them coming😄👌
Those poppies are priceless. I saw them at the Tower of London as the poppies were being installed. They are amazing .
Your two dogs are so funny🐕🐕😂😂❤ and they are so sweet.
What a beautiful gesture, the poppy is precious to us brits and what it stands for x hold it close ❤️ I'm a Welsh gal living in Yorkshire so may just send you a flag lol 😆
Wow you have fabulous supporters. I cant get over that poppy such a treasured gift.
Keep that poppy safe, Its a piece of our history, absolutely love your channel, the most uplifting nicest guy on you tube.❤
Poppies are hugely respected over here in Britain 🇬🇧 treasure it well it was one of the collection that was in an art installation in London! It’ll be worth a lot in sentiment in the future x
I can not wait for you to try the twiglets!! Ha ha!!!
Hey guys. The blue with red jersey with Cinch on it is the womens one day cricket jersey. Definitely cherish the poppy to, thats really special. Such nice presents.
Do not put that poppy in your yard ! Any yard keep it in your house safe away from your dogs .
It’s a part of history it’s value is precious I’m astounded someone has sent you this incredible piece,
100% JT do the research or a video on what it means .
So wholesome with the dogs and trying the rodeos 😂
That poppy though. That’s special. You’re a lucky man.
Yes there are semi permanent or temporary hair dyes. There are also chalks that you can rub onto you hair to make them coloured or chalk based hair dyes that wash out after a few washes.
Those coins are commemorative coins made in 1977 (only) to celebrate the Queen's silver jubilee. They don't have a monetary value, just sentimental. They've not been made before or since so you have a piece of real history. The poppy though, that's incredible. Every one made represents a life lost in the first world war WWI. There will never be any more of those made, they're all handmade - an astonishing gift. I'd keep it inside and treasure it!
