- In Heidelberg (Germany) we visited Wolfgang Schrödl of the band Liquido, to talk about the great one-hit wonder 'Narcotic'. A reportage of Top 2000 a gogo from 2019.
It is such a lovely feeling to find out that the man behind one of your favorite songs is such a likeable and humble guy with a great sense of humor! Cheers, Wolfgang!
Did you happen to see/record their episode of MTV 'Live aus Berlin' in January 1999?
@@devbiv I remember watching it, but sadly I didn't record it.
I enjoyed seeing him walking around the town and reminiscing. "This is new. A public toilet. A good decision. It was obviously necessary to have one here in the old town Heidelberg."
InstaBlaster.
This is amazing, I almost wish this was 5 times longer.
This comment.
same!
That’s with all the clips of the Top2000 they have such cool videos of so many great songs
Yes those filmmaker are really extremely good at what they do
Great sense of humor and no bs!!! Honest and happy man! Thank you!
I started working at a club in Switzerland little over a month ago and I don't think a week goes by without this song being played at least once, if not several times at different parties
Which club?
I looked this up because I heard a new song today, and they appear to use this riff, but faster. The song I heard today will not last like this one has. This song still rocks just as hard as ever.- I used to have Narcotic on rotation in the car for so long. glad to have the reminder, and will enjoy it again all over!
Wow, what a sincere nice and humble guy!
hah, what a great song, always thought it was one of the best ever. So nice to hear the story about it, and to see it's just a humble sympathetic guy . Great stuff
Nice little mini documentary about Liquido.
Great song, great era. 90s Music is underrated.
Was lucky enough to see them live a long time ago and even get my CD maxi of "Narcotic" signed by the entire band, great guys!
I was in highschool, it was such a hit, I listened it nonstop on my walkman 😂
Pleasant and very likable person. Besides being a very good artist. Thanks for this very nice documentary.
Play this at a party and Ill make sure the neighbours know Im having time of my life dancing and singing along
Het lijflied van elk studentenfeest in nederland.
In my city from Romania the party from after party starts with this Narctoic song :D...i love you guys you made my childhood
I heard this song a bunch of times in discos in Europe, never knew what it was, THANK YOU
This song is on my "Loved ❤️ " list 😊
Can confirm, played this with my coverband, this is that song you throw in when every has at least had three drinks and the rest of the evening is just one big party. You can even play it three times and everybody still joins in. 😂
This song still sounds fresh after all these years
Narcotic is an example of a perfect song. Also, Liquido's discography is amazing. There are DOZENS of really good song - in terms of songwriting, arrangements, etc. Really good songs. Highly recommended.
Love that tune 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I visited Heidelberg yesterday, only halfway of my visit I remembered this video. After I remembered this I went up to the castle and I loved the view! Definitely going back!
Looking forward to a new season of Top 2000 a GoGo! Absolutely love these small documentary parts of the show and learning about music and songs.
The song of my youth, it ended every night out. Love it.
I was lucky enough to visit Heidelberg when I was 12 [I'm from the states]. That trip single-handedly changed my life. I wish I had known about this band at the time. But this video is such a fun blast to my past. He's such a likeable guy.
can i ask how the trip changed your life? :)
Super interview. Cette chanson me rappelle quand j’étais étudiant.
Actually I believe that preset Mondo Poly in Roland D-70 is not edited at all. I have the D-70 to confirm that. Sounds exactly like this. Amazing song Thank You Wolfgang ;)
I watch this video to cheer me up.
I loved this song when it came out, this is an amazing series
Nice to see you, after so many years,Mr Wolfgang...
Interesting to hear Wolfgang talk about this! I studied in Heidelberg, too.
What a lovely, humble and happy man. Too bad the radio didn't give them another hit. You should listen to their albums, they are really good!
Such a glorious song. Never fails to make the world a little brighter when it is played. But I must admit, whenever I listen to it now I have to sing the trombone part from the excellent cover by Die Draufgänger.
Is this really 23 years ago? 23 years?
I will still recall its name
And the month it all began
again
It released me with a kiss
Yes, and it was enough time for his eyebrows finally to separate
I love this song. I've never seen the video before. This one was on the radio all the time in Paris.
That town is beautiful
Very cool. I've got so many memories attached to this song. Thanks for this!
Blijft een heerlijke plaat!
This song was a hit in the year I finished school and started working. Did not stop the partying though... Great times!
i miss the good ol Schwimmbad Club Heidelberg ^^.. thx for this report. Great
Pure perfection
beautiful song
What a great interview and a great guy!
👍👍👍great !! goood guy
I needed this
Excellent video! Two things: 'Play Some Rock' was quite the big hit too, so I wouldn't call Liquido a one-hit wonder. And I wanted to know his opinion on the 'My cocaine - Michael Caine' line.
I always liked this song.
This one dislike is the guy that rejected them ;)
pl topper hang in there topper!
Congrats on getting back up,keep on trudging the road ODAAT.
@@fredexton4873 same to you
What a great guy and cool to see his song resonating in 2020 with a cover by YouNotUs & Janieck & Senex
This cover really destroyed every characteristic element of this nice song.
"Senex" is Wolfgang himself, so it's not really a cover but more a remake with his participation
I hoped they would tell us what inspired them so much to write a song about Michael Caine.
Same.
nice!
Love it
Really jolly for a guy who sings about heroin.
O.H.W.
One Hit Wonder
Nooit geweten dat het Duitsers waren 😄
Interessante
Nice
Great post thank you!
What's the meaning of the lyrics, who the song was dedicated to? It's about damned love isnt
Amazing! Most record companies suck
Astonishing news about the A&R guy losing his job. Normally I'd expected something like "meh, shit happens"
And I call your name: "Michael Caine"
very nice song but a one day fly
Nice dude, good song. How didn't the a&r men notice that?
damn.
Bloody 'ell he talks like Ralph Fiennes.
Only song I can play on my keyboard haha...
Have I tried to draw the veil?''
@@tkitsz azijnzeikerd
Wait the band isnt English?
right....that melody is so German
To this day a question remains: why not shaved the unibrow??
well f*ck, I just found this. should wrote sooner "liquido interview" in youtube
rollstop rollfeeld stop feeling , beside divers streetcars and overlaodet travic , its divicult to drive ther ,
never heard of in the UK.
because (1) german and (2) banned by BBC ..i.e. narcotic
Due to random coincidence, speaking of censorship, a direct-opposite illustration is discussed here --> www.mediaite.com/tv/brian-williams-openly-blames-nbc-for-trump-the-apprentice-might-have-been-the-pilot-for-his-presidency/
Censorship is usually viewed negatively, but in terms of badness, it also gets strong competition from Marshall McLuhan's concept that "The Medium Is The Message" to a degree that is usually understated.
(The article basically says that the TV series had accelerated the emergence of a Lowest Common Denominator type of medieval culture within the USA)
Hashtag zeiksnor
Kein Wort über Pyogenesis oder Gut. Nicht sehr toll das Ganze hier...
als ob der ne Porngrind Band erwähnt 😂😂
Gotta say that I would have lost my job as well, bloody terrible song.
Complete shite..that song O I remember.. trying to sound cool (Weezer) I didn't enjoy it but people ate this up, of course :)
