John Askew & Activa have performed my favourite modern trance set at Luminosity 2022. Lots of world exclusive stuff, this is fantastic. I found their original production style a bit similar to Nu NRG one, it's also full of energy and with classic Discover atmosphere added. Both John + Rob's input can be heard in their tracks which is a pretty rare case these days - the agressive Askew beats and the flowy Activa melody combine very well. Was happy to hear two of my absolute favourite Activa tracks - "Resistance" and "Remember". Only "Transmission" is missing :) "Creatures (Paul Oakenfold Remix)" - a pretty rare track to hear live, and one of my favourite tunes of 2012, which I even set for my alarm clock back in the days. "Dual Mount - Magma (AA Meeting Rework)" - has to be my favourite rework from them so far, love it. "Activa & Slipstream - Cassini" - the classic Oakenfold/Perfecto touch in it brings me back to Paul Oakenfold's 1994 Goa Mix, best mix ever...Slightly reminds me of "Grace - Skin On Skin (Orange Mix)". Rob is responsible for creating some of the most intelligent, profound, top-tier trance the genre has seen. To an extent, over the years he has been in the league of his own. In similar terms, however, we have known John as the driving force of once reigning proper trance label, Discover and the author of the signature underground harder trance, someone who resisted to fall onto that commercial bandwagon and stayed true to his darker, hard-edged roots. The two shared similar spirit in common which eventually resulted in some of the most unique and outstanding projects by today's trance sound standards: extremely energetic, hard, to-the-point trance which knows no excuses.
Does anyone knows who is that beautifull young lady in the left of the decks right under the wooden pillar at 28:48? She appears in a lot of luminosity set´s! And about this set´s theres nothing to argue about, as this is straight pure discover/vandit og stuff! Cheers and god bless everyone
