Man my middle school's tornado drill had us STANDING in the halls. No ducking or anything, just head on the locker and wish for the best. I also had a bomb threat in elementary school and we just kinda stood out on the lawn for a few minutes before relocating to an unfinished store next to the school. Kinda busted 😭

The only tornado drill I ever did was in Moore, Oklahoma, which has had total ahnnilation of two elementary schools in 2013 from a tornado. We went to a classroom with no windows and Ducked for the duration of the drill. I wasn’t in Oklahoma for the tornado, but still. Rip the kids that died at school on that day

I remember my stupid surprise school drills we all had to walk in a line outside and whoever was first in line walking out there by the school track was now in the back of the line when its time to go back in and no matter how hot it was THEY HAD US COOKING OUT THERE FOR SOME DRILL FOR AT LEAST 10 to 15 minutes!?

I’m from Oklahoma, tornado alley… I NEVER understood how going into the hallway curling up into a ball would keep a tornado from picking your punk ass up and throwing you to the next county.
When I was in the military, we had covert words announced to let us know there was an intruder… cake and ice cream will be served in the area the intruder was seen and that’s where the force protection knew where to go and where the rest of the crew should avoid.

I also live in tornado alley but in north Texas, and for me we would go into a bathroom with the doors closed and wait for the sirens to stop blaring, I guess the bathrooms were made of concrete or something

1:45 because panicking people are more likely to get stuck in the doorways and worst case scenario there could be a blockage and they could accidentally block the enterance for the people who would still be alive and able to get out. Station night club fire in 2003 that’s exactly what happened there and many more people died because of that.

If there's a fire drill the school district expects us to walk out of the school in a calm manner I don't get that literally we're supposed to walk in line order out outside through the door at least closest to us to us out the front door not the side door next to our side of the building not the closest the least closest I'm in high school by the way

I remember getting in touble at school for being realistic in an earthquake drill. I ran out of the building went for the open area. And a teacher came up to me saying that I ran which isn’t in the instructions. So I ask her a question if would she be running the building is collapsing on top of her during an earthquake, I got detention. I was like bruh. 😂😂

It may seem dumb but there isn't much to do at a school, going into the turtle position is to protect your head from debris, that's just a normal procedure for a tornado
