Thank you for the simplicity! I enjoy your tutorials because they are educational, soothing, and encouraging. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with so many Uber-creative people out there doing beautiful work that bringing it back down to basics suits me and reminds me that my bookmaking needs to be about my style, my aesthetic, and my creativity… not mimicking someone else’s. Thank you!
Also fun are top loading pockets or side loading like using a paperbag, great for stuffing all kinds of goodies! Love the pocket challenge you suggest and inserting what you LOVE!! thats always what makes a journal unique ❤
I appreciate the reminder to fill the pockets with things I love. If you are a writer, words, if you are a photographer, photos, if you are a collage artist, collage. Until you said that I didn't realize I had a prescribed idea what had to go into those tucks, pockets, envelopes, belly bands...Specifically themed collaged journal cards, tags, snippets...Yes, those are great but my writing, my photos, my art can just be added. Thanks Bree!! I needed the reminder as I didn't realize how small and narrow I was becoming as a creator.
Hmm... I tend to use pockets for things I don't want to stick down. I love postcards, blank or used, and I love both sides, so there's lots of them. Sometimes I change them up. I also have lines from poems or songs or just random lines from wherever on strips of paper, in pockets. Then I can take them out and recombine them in different ways, and sometimes a poem might emerge. Pockets keep my options open. I like that you made me think about that!
I love your ideas on coming up with interactive elements for our journals. That was a quick and easy, yet gorgeous pocket! I love that style! That's an awesome idea to use what we love to place in the pockets. I will definitely be doing that in my journals. tfs
I love your style of journaling. Simple, elegant, artistic, beautiful, calming. Because of you, I am learning MY style. Unfortunately, not like yours.🫤Mine is a very eclectic combination of planner, smashbook, journal, memory keeping, and art. I have tried to make “beautiful” journals, but they never worked for me. In looking back over the years, I realized my “style” was as I listed above. I finally figured out how to do this in an already bound journal. I add so much, my bound journals explode open. I finally realized, as I add stuff, I tear out a few pages right after, to help keep my book a LITTLE flatter. And, it is actually WORKING for me! So, THANK YOU, for helping me to find and embrace MY style.🙂
I love this quick video, which for me, translates into not overthinking the process. Following your lead, I've found that I can create beautiful pages with a look that is timeless, elegant, and visually stimulating. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day a great week and blessed life!
This was great - your pocket challenge really inspired me to create small things daily to put in them! It is a great way to encourage my practice. Thank you!
i love that book.... I'm working on my dissertation and i fly through books, so a little thing like that would only last me 3-4 months if I dragged my feet on it... but its still the perfect graduation season book!!! I must find.
Beautiful! I so enjoy your videos, they always make me think. My favourite style of pocket is corner pockets, because they don't take up as much space on the page 💕
Always love your videos. I am still a rookie journal maker and am interested in the taxonomy of pocket. I always thought a pocket was a pocket and a tuck spot was a tuck spot etc. I am in the process of making a journal and I have a zillion envelopes. They do not at all work well in a journal because they are not .. uh .. pockets. So I had to make actual pocket pockets before I could proceed. I have tip in pockets, wrap around pockets, belly bands, slap on a page pockets of many sizes, shapes and tiers. Anyhoo … here is my question of inquiry… what makes an envelope a pocket? Thank you so much as always for sharing your art. 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Loved this video. I never thought of putting a pocket anywhere but in a corner or in an envelope belly band. I've brought up other videos/ playlists to binge while I work. What do you write? I'm a published romance author. Creative Blessings!
I think the best part of your videos is you are always so calm and you motivate people who watch your videos. Love it!
I love that your stuff is beautiful, uses common items and can be done in a few minutes, if you have limited time.❤

Aw thank you!
I consider an envelope a pocket because it’s meant to have something inside of it. I suppose there could be an argument against it 🤷🏾♀️

Interesting & thought provoking thank you.
What exactly is a tuck spot and how does it differ from a pocket or belly band please?
Thank you! It’s easier to explain visually than through text. I’ll try to make a video soon!
Hello 🤗 Ma'am
