so true Ukitaros. great song and still an impressive one but this has been done many times in many genres since the 80s and 90s. I just found out semi-charmed kind of life is actually about meth. Not sure if i knew that when the song came out in the 90s but thats an example of a dark meaning in a upbeat melody
Aaron Wolfenbarger, I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but your opinion is just flat-out wrong. If you think her voice is "flat" you have no idea what a flat voice sounds like, or in fact, what "falling flat" even means.
I think Taylor is severely underated as a guitarist. He is actually so good, some of the riffs (especially off this album) are hard to play and Taylor is great.
redhotchilifan98 Agreed. She never sounds anything less than the studio stuff, and her range is amazing and can be so angelic and completely versatile.
Donovan Morales I feel doesn't get enough attention that her voice deserves more people need to actually take the time to hear how good her vocal range actually is
Well she doesn't sing with a lot of frills (not a lot of runs or vibrato), so only those who realize how much talent it takes to hit the highs and lows she does, especially moving around them so easily, will fully appreciate it. But we do!
Hayley's microphone technique it spot on. pushing in to take advantage of proximity effect on her softer notes, pulling away when she gets louder and moving the mic of axis when she goes to take a breath. Really shows how great of a performer she is a she totally nails the subtle things that take a performance to the next level.
This mic control gets an A++ It's an art form. *SOOO* many artists don't realize just how important mic control is. It shows how well she knows her mic.
@@petergabriel8961 correct. Hey, little fun fact to add to that thought; At age like 14-15 I think, some way or another, Hailey was already signed to Warner Bros. Recordings as a solo lyricist/songwriter/studio session vocalist. SIGNED SOLO TO FRIGGIN WARNER BROS AT 15. So anyway, yeah, a testament to her unquestionably prodigal singing and songwriting talent.
Jace Wallace I understand what your trying to say. It's just that a band isn't really evolving if they are sounding like everyone else. It might be different for them ... sure, but trail blazing outside of the box and taking risks is a real sign of musical evolution

What I appreciate about paramore and hayley especially is that they arent afraid to change. Their music has evolved so much over their years. And even from live performance to live performance they try some tweaks and new flares to their existing songs. They want to stay true to what they love doing and I respect them for it
When I heard that sweet, full low note, I probably rewound and listened to it a dozen times. I like that she even adjusts her posture to a lower, calmer position to let the note carry through. Fantastic stuff.
My favorite live version. I love the low note and the way that Hayley changes that whole section. This version should be done live more often. Sounds great!
This made me think of the time i used to practice with my band at the studio, because you can tell the way they're making the song so them by making little changes this apart from making it better has to be with he fact that they spent a lot of time singing the song and practicing it so they begin to have fun with it. I love it!
I still think they had to seat belt her down to keep her from jumping up and dancing around. So beautiful and full of energy. What a fantastic band and singer.

People who point out the obvious differences in Paramore's sound do have every right to be nostalgic of their older songs. However, you can't necessarily keep the same sound and expect to be pleased with it every time when it eventually would just get redundant and sound worn out. You need experimentation and you need fresh ideas to grow and experience a new chapter in the duration of a band. If this is considered full on pop to some people, then Paramore did it right. Besides, they've always been a popular band and they've been very experimental the past few years with their self titled album. This was such a solid performance and I'm very excited to see them in September!
Amy McDonald great response. Not sure if you’re a fan of the band the Growlers, but their fan base has the same issue with their new album City Club (if you like after laughter, you’d dig it). Shame that some fans can’t support a change in sound, especially when it sounds good. If Paramore’s new stuff sucked, I’d understand but the new songs are all solid.

Yes because an artist can definitely cover their own song. Look up the definition of a music cover.
