Mariota played a good game but that fumbled snap really hurt. We still have the issue of settling for field goals instead of touchdowns in the red zone. Defensive coordinator failed to make proper adjustments in the second half. Positives are Drake London looked good and Patterson was a beast. I think the offense will only get better. I think we have a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball and that showed in the 1st half. D coordinator has to be better at making adjustments.

I'll tell you what.... Jarvis Landry was CLEARLY touched and was down by contact IN BOUNDS. The clock SHOULD'VE KEPT RUNNING, which would have made Jameis's spike legal. TLDR - that intentional grounding call was complete garbage. I'm so glad it didn't end up costing us the game. I'm trying not to sound conspiratorial, but it always seems like the refs will call whatever they can against the Saints ever since we EMBARRASED them in the aftermath of the NOLA no-call NFC Championship game. That holding call against Lattimore was suspicious as well. I may be a bit biased.... anyway... Who Dat!

It's ridiculous to even imply that call was somehow AGAINST the Saints. The officials called Landry out of bounds. At worst, they got that wrong; at best, they gave the Saints a free time out. @@monteporche5552 I understand why you interpreted my comment that way, but I didn't mean to imply that the refs had that thought process going on. My point was, the question of whether or not he was out of bounds is booth reviewable within the last two minutes. So... review the play, and pick up the flag. Or make it clear that the wide receiver caught the ball out of bounds. Typically referees will inform the QBs of such things. I'm not saying the referees gathered around and said, "Lets do everything to screw the Saints in this game". My point is there MUST be more consistency between officiating crews in the NFL. That flag did not need to be thrown, and shouldn't have been thrown. And, just to be clear, the Saints have been BY FAR the biggest victim of suspicious officiating errors. Mike Florio, not exactly the king of conspiracy theories, lays it all out in facts: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/01/21/saints-are-disturbed-by-failure-of-penalties-called-against-their-opponents/

@@drkjourney1 well, they DID give us a free clock stoppage by calling him out of bounds. It's on the Saints for not realizing it. The 2 big issues I have are that the rulebook specifically says there should be a 10 second runoff for that intentional grounding penalty, AND why Winston clocked the ball so early before the field goal attempt. The clock was running with around 26 seconds, and there were about 30 seconds on the play clock. He could have waited until there were about 6 seconds left and then clocked it.
