Big Clutch Lutz does it again. My lawd what a roller coaster ride this game was, but man I'm glad we won. Offense looked good, built some chemistry throughout the game with the new teammates added in the OS. I definitely think we're starting to look good, but it's week 1 so lets see how the rest of the season goes.

The call wasn’t bad lattimore should have kept control till after the game dude baited him and it worked. Like his 3d-4th personal foul retaliation penalty. Gotta keep a level head especially when the game on the line
Mariota played a good game but that fumbled snap really hurt. We still have the issue of settling for field goals instead of touchdowns in the red zone. Defensive coordinator failed to make proper adjustments in the second half. Positives are Drake London looked good and Patterson was a beast. I think the offense will only get better. I think we have a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball and that showed in the 1st half. D coordinator has to be better at making adjustments.

It seems like the retaliator always gets caught, and Lattimore always seems to draw those calls. It's 100% on him.

I'm trying not to sound conspiratorial, but it always seems like the refs will call whatever they can against the Saints ever since we EMBARRASED them in the aftermath of the NOLA no-call NFC Championship game. It's ridiculous to even imply that call was somehow AGAINST the Saints. The officials called Landry out of bounds. At worst, they got that wrong; at best, they gave the Saints a free time out. It's not like the officials thought "Hey, if we call him out of bounds, they'll spike the ball so we can penalize them."

I'm not saying the referees gathered around and said, "Lets do everything to screw the Saints in this game". My point is there MUST be more consistency between officiating crews in the NFL. I listened to this game from the radio in a delivery truck. Not much to be happy about as a Saints fan but that all changed in the last 11 minutes. I managed to lose my voice in just that final 11 minutes.

Such a strange ending. It's like the Saints suddenly woke up, and then the Falcons just all of their aggression, and just started playing like they were afraid and trying not to lose. It was such a weird and sudden turnaround. ANd Michael Thomas was just in the zone at the end.

@@drkjourney1 well, they DID give us a free clock stoppage by calling him out of bounds. It's on the Saints for not realizing it. The 2 big issues I have are that the rulebook specifically says there should be a 10 second runoff for that intentional grounding penalty, AND why Winston clocked the ball so early before the field goal attempt. The clock was running with around 26 seconds, and there were about 30 seconds on the play clock. He could have waited until there were about 6 seconds left and then clocked it.

I listened to this game from the radio in a delivery truck. Not much to be happy about as a Saints fan but that all changed in the last 11 minutes. I managed to lose my voice in just that final 11 minutes.

Such a strange ending. It's like the Saints suddenly woke up, and then the Falcons just all of their aggression, and just started playing like they were afraid and trying not to lose. It was such a weird and sudden turnaround. ANd Michael Thomas was just in the zone at the end.

That’s why I wasn’t mad at Jameis, cause I could’ve sworn he got touched down, too. It actually would’ve worked out better time wise for us if the refs called it that way. Less time for the Falcons to comeback.
@@drkjourney1 well, they DID give us a free clock stoppage by calling him out of bounds. It's on the Saints for not realizing it. The 2 big issues I have are that the rulebook specifically says there should be a 10 second runoff for that intentional grounding penalty, AND why Winston clocked the ball so early before the field goal attempt. The clock was running with around 26 seconds, and there were about 30 seconds on the play clock. He could have waited until there were about 6 seconds left and then clocked it.
