German here: The Rittersport chocolate from the beginning is supposed to be opened by "cracking" it towards the seam on the bottom so it opens up really easily :D
Thanks! We’ll try to remember that next time 🥲😂
Just wrote a similar comment 😂 Love rittersport but it's kinda expensive in Ireland
Damn was painful to watch Kyoho opening the Rittersport chocolate the wrong way🍫 from Germany aswell 😂❤
and dropping half of it haha
Hi Sarah! I'm moroccan and the sauce looks like a combination of Harissa (Moroccan spicy traditional sauce), white sauce that looks like shawarma sauce (many Moroccans also make it using greek yogurt, dill, garlic, lemon, mint), and then maybe olive oil as well.
So cool to see you guys enjoying Moroccan food in Korean ^^
I think you're right but also I think that might be sumac sprinkled on the top edit: or dried chilli?
We’ve gotten a few comments that suspect it’s maybe either sumac or some type of shawarma sauce! I guess we’ll just have to try making both to find out which 😁
a little sad but i've been watching you guys for years and I always liked watching the videos with my cat sammy. she passed on the fifth of this month after 20 years together (im only 24) while i was away on a research trip to chile. being able to see beemo and the other stray kitties really tugs at my heart and makes me miss my daughter even more.
glad i could at least experience many of your videos with her by my side.
Oh my god, we’re so, so sorry for your loss 😔 Wow…20 years together is really something. Sounds like Sammy had a beautiful, full life with you ❤️
Wow❤❤
@@2hearts1seoul thank you guys it means the world to me 😿💕
sake or whiskey. Kyuho without hesitating: "BOTH"
Korean tailors are amazing!!! My dad goes to this ahjussi at a swap meet that we go to and he’s super friendly and knowledgeable. He knows exactly who my dad is when he picks up his items or he knows exactly who I am whenever i pick up my dads finished items! It’s great!!
Yesss! They’re the absolute best and so reasonably priced!
@@2hearts1seoul his pricing is always more than fair, and my dad likes to leave a small deposit in good faith, even though ahjussi never asks for it.
I remember visiting frienda at the yongsan base when I was a kid. I mostly rememeber the playground and that I thought it was scary to pass through the security gates since I wasn't american.
Ritter sport! A european classic :D I loved them when I was little and we always got them in the grocery store. Now they're a little more rare.
Also! The Downton movie gets a lot of shit but I actually loved it, it's ridiculous though haha. I watched on a flight!
"Hey Mr. White!!" Great show for sure!
Excited to see some eastern Canada scenery soon!
MAGNETS! 🧲
Your vlogs have made me even more excited (if that's possible) for my upcoming trip to Seoul. I have a very full itinerary but I've added several of the places that you've highlighted to my agenda. thank you so much!!!
Ohhh, so glad to hear that they could be somewhat helpful ☺️
@@2hearts1seoul OMG WAY helpful not just "somewhat"
I hope the audition went well ;) and Beemo liked his new future temporary caregivers! As a fellow Canadian I hope the fires slow down before your trip. The air gets incredibly smoky on certain days even when we're hundreds of miles from the nearest fire. Can't wait for these vlogs though as I've never been to Nova Scotia so it's always fun to see that part of the country through you.
It did! They all got along with one another, whew! ☺️ And yeah, apparently there isn’t much smoke over in Nova Scotia anymore, but really hoping those other fires get under control asap :(
Grew up in yongsan, graduated from high school there. Sad that they closed the base. So many memories! Thanks for sharing!
I miss Korea so much! We were stationed at Camp Humphreys. I had friends that lived at Yongsan so I would take the train up a lot. We stayed at Dragon Hill too. ❤
That green tea cake looks so amazing! I'm looking forward to see your vlogs from Canada :)
Have a wonderful time in Canada. So glad Beemo is doing well. Hope he likes his new pet sitter(s).
Thank you! 😽
I’m happy that you all are able to travel to Canada to see Sarah’s family again. I’m glad that Beemo is picking up weight too. It ps great that you all have friends that will be able to care for Beemo while you’re away.
I'm loving the new haircut!!
Ohhhhh now you HAVE to watch Queen Charlotte!! Its FABULOUS! x
SO good! 🥹
I get so excited when you go to Canada!!😂 If you can, can you film the food/meals the airline serves you? Very interested in seeing that!!😁
It’s so exciting to hear you are leaving soon for Canada. Sarah’s family must be sooo happy! 😎 I was happy to follow along on Beemo’s health journey. So happy he’s gaining weight. The base apartments are so very spacious in a lovely setting. Did you inquire if they ever open up apartments to rent? You never know - maybe there’s some “secret” list- Lol. It’s such a shame to keep them vacant. You must have lots to do before your trip. Thanks for taking us along! 😍🥰❤️
Rittersport is some if my favourite chocolate. There's a particular way of opening it you have to crack it it half and that's how you open it
When you guys get to Halifax, you should head to the Bedford Highway as they have a Korean corn dog place (they sell Bingsu as well), and the best “strawberry-ade” I’ve ever tried! And in the same complex, there is a Korean market! The corn dog place is called “The Kon Dog”.
We’ve heard about this from my brother-the corn dogs! Haha 😄
Beemo will be in good hands. Wow long flight.
I doubt I could handle the flight length myself.
Safe travels to Canada.
Safe trip to NS! Looking fwd to the upcoming Canadian vlogs!!!
Thank you! ✈️🇨🇦
I have heard good things about Morococo, and those dishes look delish! Wanna eat there soon.. Hope y'all have a very safe flight to Canada! 🙂
Based on the words on the Itaewon cafe's window (Platters)...I think someone was a fan of the movie "Always" with Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter. Excellent movie!
I lived in those exact apartments at Yongsan 1991-1993 when I was growing up. I was very young but I do remember the street it was on being called Black Hawk Drive. Seeing the kitchen (although our unit was opposite handed) brings back memories I haven't thought of in 30 years.
Omg, wow!! Yeah, we saw that a lot of them were built in the late 80s 🏡 It must be so strange to see the interior all these years later!
So great you could enjoy the weather, before all the rain starts! Also to head for Canada, too.
Glad Beemo has gained weight. Also, with friends watching him,you can relax, during your trip.
How were the cookies(?),is that what they were?
Looked yummy,like the matcha dessert.
Looking forward to any and all vlogs- korea and canada.😊
Thanks for sharing.
Safe travels!!! Hope you guys enjoy a little R&R in Canada ❤
That green tea cake looks amazing
Yes that green tea cake!!!!🍵💚
Wow enjoy Canada again guys!!!!
We got back from japan not long ago!!!
I finished watching the Downton Abbey series a little while ago but I refused to watch the movie until I was done with the series. Finally watched the movie and it's was really, really good!
We’re looking forward to watching both movies!
Hope the interview with Beemo goes well. It's difficult to leave your pets for extended periods of time. Having a trusted friend makes it much better.
They all loved each other, so it went great ☺️
Agreeeeed. It’s definitely difficult, but we feel
far more at ease having Beemo stay with trusted friends-rather than drag him along on that stressful flight 😓
There’s a Moroccan restaurant in downtown Halifax (Queen St) called Casablanca that may have the answer about the sauce. I hear their food’s excellent!
Oohhhh! Gonna have to check this out!
hey, 5-second rule. at 3:25.😜I bet Kyuho ate the piece he dropped. 😀Why did they close down the army base? The place still looks very well-kept and could be still livable. And why not turn it into an apartment complex.
Yongsan will be re-develop, some part of the Yongsan will turn into perf parks.
Love this!! Ahh the green tea cake lookee good I love green tea too but seldom to see a cake.. Kyuho dropping the chocolate aaa😳 excited for your trip to Canada😊thank you so much for this wonderful vlog again tonight let's have a great week ahead! 😊❤🙏
The US army base was cool to see! Very interesting. Can't wait to see your Canada videos!
Omg ! That green tea cake looks absolutely delish ! So do those Macarons ! Mmmmm😋
I LOOOOVE Morococo! You guys need to try Casablanca next time which is just right in front of Morococo and the owner is same.
Ooohhh, thanks for the tip! 😯
I lived on that base and graduated high school there - a lot of history on that base. Miss it so much and so sad our school closed (Seoul American High School).
Sounds like you had a great experience there! Such a nice area from what we could see! 🌿
Hi Sarah! Hi Kyuho! The kitties are looking so healthy!
You guys! I’m soooo jelly! Your foreign grocery store carries Huy Fong Sriracha Sauce…… The original! We cannot get it here in Southern California. The factory is not able to produce, because they can no longer get their hands on the chiles to make the sauce. I’ve checked on Amazon, and what used to be $3+ for a bottle, people are asking upwards of $20+….. up to over $100! Highway robbery I’m telling ya! 😂
I love how excited you both got over the American ‘luxuries,’ at Yong San Park. Things that we Americans take for granted. ❤ I’m super excited for you both and your upcoming trip to Canada! I’m so happy that Beemo will be well taken care of! Our fur babies are our children, so knowing that you can both travel in peace and comfort is always a good thing. Take care! I cannot wait for Canada vlogs!!
Oh wow, that’s nuts! Had no idea there was a shortage of that stuff 🤯
We loved the layout of the homes in Yongsan, and all the green recreational areas, I mean 😍
The dinner went really well and Beemo got really comfortable with our friends, and they seem to like him a lot ☺️
My local stores in central California have been out of Sriracha for nearly a year now! I'm down to my last bottle. I'm jealous too!
@@artofdealing ……We used to attend the Huy Fong open house EVERY single year. It’s a free event, where you walk through the factory, watching the process, from chile grinding to bottling, to packaging. The owner/creator (Mr. David Tran) would greet everyone. They would have the dancing dragons. You would get to try everything that they created, from their popcorn, to their beef jerky, to their ice cream. You’d get a swag bag with a t-shirt and a bottle of either Sriracha or Sambal. It’s very sad that Huy Fong had a falling out with the long time growers of their chiles. Huy Fong has an on-site store, where you can purchase Sriracha t-shirts, socks, gifts, etc. They used to be chock full of products. 😭
I'm with you about affordable tailoring. I really miss that now that I'm back in the US. Usually the price here is almost the same price as what I paid for the clothing item.
It’s SO affordable here! Canada is so expensive for tailoring clothes too 😩
@@2hearts1seoul Since you guys go back to Canada once or twice every year, you guys should think about leaving some clothes there at your parents' place. That way, it greatly reduces your packing and such. Plus, if you need anything else, you can buy it there.
Love the vlog. The food look good also. I loved the area.
If I lived in Korea I would watch Beemo. I would die for Beemo.
I was stationed at Camp Pelham in Songyu-Ri (Munsan) in the very early 90’s, and sometimes a bunch of us GI’s would go to the Youngsan 8th Army base, bec their Commissary was SO HUGE! This part of the video brings back a lot of fond memories of my 12 months in Korea as a young man!
Always my best to you two and Beemo 🥂
The commissary-now that’s something we would LOVE to experience 🥲
Sounds like you had quite the experience in Korea ☺️
I'd love for you guys to be my tour guides haha, when I am eventually able to visit Korea, you know a lot of good looking spots! Hope you and your family are doing well.
Omg Sarah, I love your shirt at 10:11, where did you get it!!?
Ohhh, thanks! I got it in Tokyo at Uniqlo several years ago 😊
@@2hearts1seoul so cute! 💕
Hi I want to see Kyu Ho grow his facial hair lol! Enjoy and have a safe trip! From PA
What facial hair? 😅🤣
Will that housing area ever be used for anything in the future?
Was the chocolate yummy?
Eventually, it will be redeveloped one day. Yongsan is a key area in Seoul and many redevelopment projects are underway or planned.
@@haejeegwon9774 thank you for the response. I hope whatever is decided it's something that will be good for Seoul.
Was the white sauce with the chicken at Morococo garlicky? If so, then its likely toum. You can make it at home with a food processor! Its just garlic, oil, lemon juice, salt and water. I use it as a dip, to saute veggies, and eat it with a spoon to keep vampires away. 😂
(Im not Moroccan, but toum (originally Lebanese?) is eaten throughout the Middle East and it looked similar)
Omg, thank you! I think that might be it 😍 It was a bit garlicky-thick and creamy too! We have to try and make this 👀
@@2hearts1seoulno problem! 😊 pulverizing the garlic with the oil and water turns it all creamy (almost like mayo), but theres no cream in it! Its wild...when I first googled it I kept thinking "how is there no cream in this?!" Science! 😆
If there are any Adonis grocery stores in Halifax (Middle Eastern grocer, theyre now in Toronto where I am), you can buy toum there. Farm Boy also started selling it too. ❤
Not all heroes wear capes 🥹❤️
@@2hearts1seoul shhh, dont tell anyone my secret identity! 😆🦸♀️
Kyuho is so handsome. My gosh
Seeing the Norton salt floored me 😂
sauce looks like harissa yogurt dip with sprinkle of sumac.
Ohhh, thank you! Going to look this up 👀
I get so excited when your videos come out, especially now, as my friend is there in South Korea for 4 weeks! he is now in Seoul, and I sent him your latest video, and he actually just went to the Moroccan cafe today! He noted that the mint tea is 7000 won and the draft beer is 5000 won. is that normal? In Australia, beer is always more expensive than tea.
단독주택이라.. 서울도 장충동 한남 이태원 같은 곳에 있긴한대 너무 비싸고 일산 정발산 쪽에 정말 예쁜 단독주택단지 많아요.
We have to know! Did kyuho eat the dropped chocolate ?! Lol. No judgment here cuz I might have.
He did not 😂 Thankfully he didn’t drop the other half! 🍫
Ooh are you able to go to Canada for the Summer?
Was that green bus with the eyes from HaHa Bus the variety tv show? Time stamp around 1 min 54 sec
No idea! But they’re everywhere in Seoul 👀
May I ask how is the weather in late September? I will travel but no idea if its too cold or not, I from a tropical country XD I know no cold.
In Korea? It’s gorgeous! Warm but no gross summer humidity :)
@@2hearts1seoul Thank you so much for the reply. All the love from Costa Rica >3
Wow that former US military housing is like a world of its own. So strange and interesting. I hope the government will have people livung there instead of them going to waste
Oooh, thanks for the peek into the Yongsan AB park! My SO used to be in the US Air Force and there are definitely some similarities in the base he was stationed at in Germany, with Yongsan AB. Totally understand what you mean by the specific "American" smell 😄Glad to hear that Beemo's gaining weight and that you're heading to Canada for some summer quality time with your family!
Need to know if Kyuho applied the five second rule
He did not 😂
you should have asked the restaurant what kind of dip sauce it was.
Kicking ourselves that we didn’t!
the tailor is Amazing....... even though you may be his only White customer...😂
Hemming one pair of shorts would cost $20 USD or MORE in the US. One pair. 😅
Same in Canada 😓
I’m so confused on why they don’t rent out the previous military base apartments, seems so wasteful. 🤔
We’d love to live there 🥲
yes wondering the same.
Well, as a Korean I don't think it's a waste cuz even if they rent out the houses, most people can't afford to live in Yongsan area. Yongsangu is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Seoul and there are already huge apartment complex right across that military base.
I think it‘s worth to keep it as a park so that many people can freely visit and remember Korea's history😊.
Also it is located right next to Yongsan Family Park and National Museum of Korea, so the entire area is a great travel spot.
@@2hearts1seoulme too!
Yup yup. Only the ultra which would be able to afford to buy those properties in that location anyway, so 😅
We still have those same trash cans today in America lol.
I haven’t seen them for a while in Canada, but I was actually feeling pretty nostalgic when I saw those 😂
I don't know what it would be like when you come here. The forest fires are so bad now. We have smog warnings everywhere.
Are you in Nova Scotia? My parents said all the fires out that way are out and there’s no more smoke.
@@2hearts1seoul That's relieving to hear. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was bad. I just assumed it was still bad but now Quebec has over ten thousand displaced residents and Montreal has the worst air quality in the world today. I just assumed N.S. was having the same issues. Good for your family that it is better. It has been a crazy start to the summer. We had a national holiday in Quebec yesterday and they cancelled the fireworks due to the fires. I had to go out and get toilet paper. Barely anyone was outside. It felt like it was lockdown again.
So awful 😔 I think Nova Scotia had some pretty bad forest fires going on first, and then, when those started to fizzle out, some really bad ones started in Quebec. Such a mess :(
The food you guys ordered at Morococo is not really Moroccan food. Next time try the lemon chicken tagine or any Moroccan specialty they have :)
If you haven’t watched Better Call Saul you’re missing out.
Oh we’ve watched it! 🤌
I always feel anxious when youtubers advertise the vpn region blocking workaround, as if countries/businesses wouldnt notice this and then try to develop a workaround for the workaround...
Hey guys from Greece 🇬🇷 are there restaurants with Greek food you should try it delicious great video bye 👋
Even though I'm in China, I get the feeling that a lot of foreigners are leaving Korea. be fascinated to know the reasoning behind this
Very few job opportunities for foreigners, poor work/life balance, stagnant wages, very difficult to get and maintain work or residence visas are just some I can think of.
@@2hearts1seoul Wow, I didn't realize this. You have a good sense for these aspects it seems
민방위 not 예비군~
웰컴 아재 ㅎㅎ
i couldn't help thinking it's a shame all of that housing is not being used by people to live in. feels like a waste of space in such a big city
I don't think it's a waste cuz it has become a park, not a place where only a few rich people can own. Many tourists can enjoy the old vibe of American houses in central Seoul and remember the modern history of Korea. And Yongsangu is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Seoul and there are already huge apartment complexes and villas nearby.
There are National Museum of Korea and Seobinggo(historic ice storage houses) right next to the military base so the whole area has become a tourist spot~
Honestly, in that area, only the ultra rich could afford it 😬
"Promo SM"
Very short vlogs😢
This one is actually longer than our usual vlogs ;)
I don't understand why they wouldn't allow low income people to live in military housing that is now empty. It's very nice there and should be put to good use for low income families or the elderly. It's too nice to remain empty.
