Most people I talk to say the same, they got introduce to armwrestling by Devon and soon after learned abaut Brzenk..and he is the one that really inspires people to get better. The more you learn abaut armwrestling the more mind blowing Brzenk appears to you, the mans strength was literally an anomaly even among the strength standards of armwrestling.

Even the best, 2004 version of Voevoda wouldn't crack the top 20 among the greats today. He had a shooting star moment that lasted a few months in a shallow field when he was basically the only superheavyweight, and scored a gritty pin against a lightweight version of Brzenk who had just pulled a tournament and was contemplating retirement.

His pulled everywhere around the world, won countless championships & dominated the sport for over 30+ years beating guys & elite Europeans who are much bigger & heavier than he was. The man is humble, respective and class act. Sure there are others who have done better as ambassadors or promoting the sport, or are more popular with today’s younger generation or newcomers/viewers. But the universal truth is his legacy is unmatched. John is simply the GOAT. 🐐 Even now at his age with his longtime shoulder injury & being not as fast nor strong compared to his prime days, John is still quite beast. 💪 Win or lose against Chance Shaw won’t matter.
