    There is a Klaus Polyp with stationary cars known as the 'Sea Warrior' operating at Lake Winnepesaukah in Rossville, GA.

      Yes indeed, that's one of the not much still operating Klaus Polyps.

      I would love to go on one after not being on one for about 40 yrs. This may be the closest one to me in Philadelphia PA.

      It is as far as we know one of only 2 still operating Klaus Polyps
      All of them had fixed gondolas.

    These were my favorite rides as a kid. I despised the Eyearly incarnations of this but loved the others. Believe it or not, i like the ones that have the non spinning gondolas.
    I just subscribed BTW! I wish you the best on your channel. Keep up the good work!

    1:20 the covers for those cars look so awkward, but they also make the ride look even more mesmerizing that before!

      It reminds me of the vehicles in the cartoon, “the Snorks,” for some reason. Really cool look!

    Conklin Shows in the late 80's had a S&M Polyp themed as the Octopus. It featured an octopus on the hub that had moving arms. That later got sent to PNE Playland in Vancouver.

    Fabbri only sells the zamperla/emiliana lunapark polyps :) Same as the sombrero rides by the way. There is also one in Switserland. Most of them are park models. The one in the Netherlands is a former park model too.
    The Soriani/Zamperla story is a bit odd. Zamperla and Soriani(&Moser, which later became Moser rides) where 2 separate company's.
    But i have seen some footage at the Zamperla factory where the original Soriani Sign was still hanging on the side of the building.
    I don't know exactly if the company was bought or only the factory itself.
    But Zamperla (and Moser also) still produces some models from Soriani & Moser.
    Polypweb (one of your sources) is part of my website.
    I have written those articles about polyp/schwarzkopf myself.

      Bedankt voor de info! Het zit inderdaad heel ingewikkeld in elkaar met Soriani & Moser en Zamperla. Het Polypweb is altijd een hele goede bron voor deze video's, ik zal zeker eens een kijkje nemen op uw website!

    Huss made two 6 arm polyps with 5 gondolas on each arm

    • @SchwarzkopfFanboy

      No, Huss did not make those. CAH made them, and the Huss Trading Corporation sold them.

    2 things I worked on the monster ride for Strates shows in 88. the accident happened 2 months after i left the carnival. I built it and enjoyed working on it, my time was in Orlando at the fair. If I had stayed I do not know how I would have felt but it was a monster not an octopus ride. Also operated a spider ride at Clementon Park in NJ for a season. Last comment on the monster ride we told the girls the more you show the longer you go times change lol

    -1:40 is not a bakker
    -You forgot to mention that the original spider(Beach polyp) has a different working exentric.
    There are 2 of those Fabrik polyps in the Netherlands, one on the fair and one at a resort(Preston palace)

    • @SchwarzkopfFanboy
      @SchwarzkopfFanboy  4 года назад +2

      The one at 1:40 is one made by Bakker/Robles Bouso, and I don't know about the different working eccentric? I'd like to learn more about it!

    • @miwer1000
      @miwer1000 4 года назад +3

      @@SchwarzkopfFanboy there is no bakker involved with that typ of polyp.
      Well don't know the precise difference(anymore) but when you look at the beach polyp you can see that the top ring is thicker than all other spiders.

    • @chrismarshall4523
      @chrismarshall4523 4 года назад +1

      Some of these rides did not use an eccentric mechanism, they used hydraulic pistons to mimic the eccentric.

    • @Pobreshcom
      @Pobreshcom 4 года назад +1

      The one in 1.40 is a Robles Bouso one. The design of Robles was based on the Design of Bakker
      The first Spider has indeed a different working excentric from the later models. The only huge difference is that the cilinder is pulling the top ring down instead of pushing it up like the later models. And it is therefore a bit differently constructed.
      Preston Palace = Zamperla
      Copacabana (Fair) = Emiliana Lunapark (and originally a Park model, modified by the current owner)
      Zamperla & Emiliana Lunapark have a collaboration. It's basically the same ride made by 1 of the 2 company's, but the one who deliverers it, put's it name on it (to say it in an easy way)
